How To Be A Happy Kid

Good morning, dear judges!

My name is Joyce. Today I will give a speech about How To Be A Happy Kid.

Everyone deserves to have a happy childhood. We all know, life isn’t

easy all the time, even for children.

One time I didn’t do well on a math test. It was the first time for me

to get such a low mark. I felt miserable about it. When I got home, without

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls . Before the term ends in some schools , the children act a nativity① or “birth” play, showing how Jesus② was born in a stable③.

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace , so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case④ or a sack⑤ to try to get more presents. Later that night, Father or Mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

In Britain, Christmas Day is normally spent at home, with the family, and it is regarded as a celebration of the family and its continuity. Preparations start well in advance, with the sending of Christmas cards and installation of a decorated Christmas tree in a prominent place in the home. 今天是圣诞节，爸爸和妈妈带我去逛街。街上车水马龙，比平时拥挤了很多。每家商店都张灯结彩，到处洋溢着欢乐的气氛。

我们先去了文峰大世界，刚到门口，我就被广场上那惟妙惟肖的圣诞老爷爷吸引了，急忙跑过去看，哪里见了一个小亭子，里面有几只闪闪发光的小鹿，正往亭子里跑呢!旁边还有很多的圣诞树，上面挂满了金色的小礼物，火树银花，特别漂亮。

后来，我们还去了很多好玩的地方。我觉得今天好快乐。

12月25日是一年一度的圣诞节，它是西方国家最重要的节日，相当于我国的春节一样热闹。

晚上，我和爸爸、妈妈一起到名典咖啡屋吃晚饭。我们一边吃着美味的西餐，一边欣赏着动听的小提琴歌曲，美妙极了。一会儿，一位圣诞老人突然出现在我的面前，他亲切地向我祝贺节日快乐，并送给我一份礼物。我高兴地打开一看，里面有一顶圣诞老人的帽子，我还带上帽子和圣诞老人一块照相合了影。

今年的圣诞节，让我过得非常愉快、难忘，感觉到了圣诞老人对人们的友好。

晚上，我们来到雾都宾馆，准备迎接在盛大的圣诞晚会。

没走进现场就能听到热闹非凡的嘻闹声。宾馆地上有许多气球，有红的，黄的……颜色五彩缤纷，形状千奇百怪，有桃心形的气球，有梨子形的……舞台有一幅漂亮的背景，有无数樱桃般大的“雪花”，还有一个又白又胖的“雪人”“地上”到处是“雪”，就像“白地毯”，顶部还有一行字：我们一起走过，那字像玻璃窗，雪掉在玻璃窗上，慢慢滑下来。多美的一幅画呀！

节目马上就要开始了，我兴奋极了。

没想到同学们的节目那样精彩。比如：刘瑞军和曹誉潇的魔术是那样的神奇，杨可心妈妈的歌声是那样的美妙，还有刘子豪帅哥带来的好笑的《百家姓》，还有唐正和他妈妈带给大家的令人捧腹大笑的《鸭司令遇难》……我的同学们个个多才多艺，英姿飒爽的奥运哥哥也给我们带来了精彩绝伦的变脸节目，把晚会的气氛推向了高潮。
