过春节要贴春联，记得在上一年春节，我曾经做了爸爸妈妈的小助手，我负责在所有的春联后面涂上糨糊，爸爸就负责把春联贴在门口，而妈妈就在厨房把今晚的团圆饭煮好，而我就帮妈妈把食物洗干净和切好，再让妈妈下锅，到晚上，我们全家就高高兴兴的把团圆饭吃了，吃完饭，爸爸妈妈就带我到大草地里放烟花，那个时候，我们全家真是开心极了。还有，在春节的时候，爸爸妈妈会带我到亲戚朋友家拜年，有时，亲戚朋友也会到我们家拜年，参观一下我们的屋子睁不整洁，漂不漂亮。我们会包红包，送给亲戚朋友的孩子，有时亲戚朋友也会送红包给我。

这就是我最印象深刻的臆见事和我们这里过春节的习俗。

台风来了(Typhoon coming)

Typhoons and Pacific Ocean storms that come to Taiwan in summertime or fall season. They Are great wind storms; when they strike land they may do great damage. However, the weatherman always knows when one is on the way. He will send out warnings about.

People can board up their windows and do many other such things to protect themselves if they know about a Typhoon in time. In my house we check our supply of candles and dry-cell batteries in case of a power failure. Also, we save some water in pails because the pump will not work without electricity. Then we like to sit by the door watching the rain and wind blow loudly.

盼望着，盼望着，年终于来了。我们一家四口要去我的大伯家过年。我们家乡称过春节叫作“过年”，腊月的最后一天是“送年”，正月初一时“迎年”。

腊月二十九早晨，妈妈把我从梦中叫醒，“孩子，快起床，今天就是年了！”我马上从被窝里钻出来，“太好了，过年了！”我兴奋地欢呼道。

起来看了看表，已经十点多了。妈妈和奶奶在包饺子，伯母在做菜，爸爸和哥哥在贴春联，大伯准备了一挂很长的大红鞭炮，说是下水饺时放。我总得做点什么吧。拿来扫帚，我要清扫从春联上抠下来的小纸板。

到了中午，迎接我们的是一桌子丰盛的午餐：有肉馅水饺，有鸡，有鱼，有羊肉，还有好几个青菜。大家都端起酒杯，互相祝福着新年。连平时不喝酒的妈妈也喝了一点酒。

下午，我去二姑家找琪琪姐姐玩了个痛快。晚饭过后，我们全家出动，去观看礼花。哥哥搬了两个正方体礼花弹，爸爸拿了六个小圆筒状的礼花弹。摆放到大门口后，哥哥点燃了一个正方体。我先捂住耳朵，真有点害怕。只见正方体快速冲出了一个带着一溜烟的小火球，到了半空，只听“咚”的一声，它炸开了，变成了一朵遮住半个天空的大伞花；同时正方体的其他小孔里陆续飞出八个小火球，炸开后，时而像金菊怒放、牡丹盛开;时而像彩蝶翩跹、巨龙腾飞;时而像火树烂漫、虹彩狂舞。真是千姿百态，变化多端，把个漆黑的夜空装点得五彩斑斓。烟花在空中绽放，花瓣如雨，纷纷坠落，似乎触手可及。

回了家，妈妈她们开始准备年夜饭——素馅水饺。这一顿水饺是有讲究的，奶奶说必须是素馅的，吃了素馅水饺可保一年都素净，平安！不参与包水饺的便聚在电视前看起了春节联欢晚会。看着精彩的节目，不知不觉到了凌晨零点整，家家户户放起了鞭炮，爆炸声密密麻麻，震耳欲聋。人们争先恐后的放鞭，听说谁放先放鞭来年会有好日子过呢！妈妈伯母开始忙活着下水饺。吃完水饺后，大人们开始打牌，谁输了就往脸上贴纸条。我负责准备纸条。几局下来，伯母的脸上快贴满了。

一转眼便到了凌晨两点，我怀着无比兴奋地心情进入了甜美的梦乡。

The Lunar New Year is now popularly known as the Spring Festival because it starts from the Begining of Spring . Its origin is too old to be traced. Several explanations are hanging around. All agree, however, that the word Nian, which in modern Chinese solely means year , was originally the name of a monster beast that started to prey on people the night before the beginning of a new year.

One legend goes that the beast Nian had a very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with one bite. People were very scared. One day, an old man came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian. To Nian he said, I hear say that you are very capable, but can you swallow the other beasts of prey on earth instead of people who are by no means of your worthy opponents? So, it did swallow many of the beasts of prey on earth that also harassed people and their domestic animals from time to time.

After that, the old man disappeared riding the beast Nian. He turned out to be an immortal god. Now that Nian is gone and other beasts of prey are also scared into forests, people begin to enjoy their peaceful life. Before the old man left, he had told people to put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at each year s end to scare away Nian in case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast feared the most.

From then on, the tradition of observing the conquest of Nian is carried on from generation to generation. The term Guo Nian , which may mean Survive the Nian becomes today Celebrate the Year as the word guo in Chinese having both the meaning of pass-over and observe . The custom of putting up red paper and firing fire-crackers to scare away Nian should it have a chance to run loose is still around. However, people today have long forgotten why they are doing all this, except that they feel the color and the sound add to the excitement of the celebratio

In China, Spring Festival is the biggest day. People will come back home

and enjoy spending some time with their families. So no matter how far they are,

they will figure out all the ways to come back home and get reunited. The house

cleaning work before the coming of this big day always brings me the happy

memory. We can find something lost a long time ago in the corner. It is like the

surprise and makes me feel so excited. On the New Year’s Eve, all of my families

will sit together and enjoy the real big meal. We share our happiness and the

future expectation. What a nice moment.
