Recently, I read a great book, Childhood, which is written by Gorky. It’s a novel based on the experiences of the author’s tragic childhood, telling the stories about the author between his three to ten years old. Aliocha has a bad childhood. His father and mother die in his early ages, so that he has to live with his great-grandparents. His great-grandfather is bad tempered and his uncles hate him very much. Great-grandmother is the only person who cherished him. Besides, Aliocha also feel the pureness, friendship by his playmates. Through this book, we can see a poor, ugly society, but we also can see an adamant, compassionate little who constantly pursuits of good things in life. It’s hard to imagine how he can stick to the faith of life in such bad environment. As to us, we live in a much better environment; of course we should cherish our happiness and be strong to face difficulties in life.

In the sun, I read this thick, "childhood", heart suddenly a strange shame and remorse, think of themselves and the lives of a great disparity in Gorky.

Year-old death of his father, to follow the kind of grandmother came to the grandfathers home. Here, he knows many things, but also see a lot of things, he see the selfish, greedy, brutish, two uncles; simple friend "Little Gypsy"; mean, stingy, greedy, tyrannical, brutal grandfather; every day life in the cruel, stupid, infighting among family members and arguments, and from between good and evil, Alesha ignorant to understand that a number of reasons.

Compared with him together, our childhood is bright and happy; no pain and struggle, has been a carefree life. From this point on it seems we already have far cry on with Alesha, we have a lot, but we still do not know enough I just want luxury this world a better and more want.

Yes ah, we often parents do not cook, mouth open for food, only to parents for their shelter Guzhao, not herself from the "world" battles. Now we have to expect should repent, should not waste anything, and learn to cherish everything we have now will suffice.

From now on test, we must stand up and do not just want to experience difficulties with such a withdrawal, escape, or take a shortcut, should have confidence in ourselves, life always something or someone will give you pain and even despair, but we should be like what how the kind of insisted. In this way, you can again find joy in pain, in despair to find hope. Yes, dark past, the dawn will always come, as long as you still maintain the confidence that something is immortal, has all the treasure, then your light will come, because you know how to cherish.

and

Jane Eyre is a portrait of Charlotte Brontes poetic life. It is a work with autobiographical color. It tells a story of an English woman who has become an orphan since childhood. She always pursues freedom and dignity in all kinds of hardships, insists on herself, and finally gets happiness. From this we can see that the frustrations and pains of life are clouds. Persistence is the key. Victory lies not in the result, but in the spirit. Like Charlotte and Jane Eyre, there is the mental quality of perseverance and struggle against pain. Gain strength, raise self. Let yourself have the courage to open up. Be bold in making progress. Go up the higher steps.

Jane Eyre, the heroine, was a pure and thoughtful woman. She lived in the bottom of society and suffered all kinds of hardships. But she has a stubborn personality and the courage to pursue equality and happiness. With rich lyrical writing and deep and delicate psychological description, the novel exhibits fascinating and tortuous love experiences of the hero and heroine, and celebrates the freedom from all old customs and prejudices. On the basis of mutual understanding and mutual respect is rooted in the deep love, with a strong shock of the mind force. The most successful thing is to create a woman who dares to resist and dare to strive for freedom and peace. The parents died of typhoid fever and died one month later. The young Jane Eyre was raised at the uncles parents house. Uncle Mr. Reed died in the red house after Jane loved XX times subjected to discrimination and abuse of life. On one occasion, Jane was locked up in the red house because of his cousins assault. Physical pain and spiritual humiliation and fear caused her to suffer a serious illness.

The trials of thousands of setbacks have created our persistent character, forged our strong will, trained our excellent skills and paved the way for our success. In the setback, we save a little bit of strength, step by step towards brilliant. Let us full of "fate by the throat" of the lofty sentiments and aspirations! Challenge setbacks and overcome setbacks!

The confusion was going on, the rebellion was on, the search was taking place, and Jane and Mrs. finally walked into the church school under the bullying of Mrs. Reed and John. But the pain is there, there are many essential things, there are many hidden in the undercurrent of life still need to face the pain. The plight of life, the departure of a good friend, and the public denunciation from Mr. Blok Hester all made her feel the foul air and the pain of the heart in the confused life. Life was at last a progress, and God was a little merciful. In the church school, two years of teacher life was probably a calm backwater for jane. However, in not cheerful, quiet life, but permeated with her strong sense of loneliness and fear, she needs is in the real life of confusion in the free and run, free, cheerful and love.

A strong, simple, rigid and flexible, independent, aggressive woman. She was humble and homely, but she didnt feel inferior. Her contempt for the arrogance of power, laugh at their stupidity, show of self-reliance and good ideal personality. She has a tenacious vitality, never bow to fate.

Once saw a sentence in a certain place: "where the heart is, Su Li in the past, life is like a journey, a reed in the air." Janes life is like a lonely boat, walking in the boundless tempestuous waves, with her strong defeated fate, to win their own sky!

Main Characters: The little prince, the pilot, the rose, the fox, the snake, etc.

Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.

As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. ―I‖, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the Asteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the Sahara, on the earth.

Traveling on the earth, the little prince, who sees a garden of five-thousand roses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considers his rose is unique in the universe before. At that time a fox appears. The fox, who tell the little prince about the meaning of the word ―tame‖, becomes his new friend. At the time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose is unique because she is his rose and tamed by him. From that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose.

At the anniversary day of his descent of the earth, rejecting the pilot’s advice, he goes back to his own planet by bite of a snake. ―It’s too far. I can not carry this body with me. It’s too heavy.‖ he said. He tells his friend, the pilot, he must be responsible for his rose, so he has to go back. At the end the author doesn’t tell us the ending directly. Maybe it’s more significant for us to imagine, and for more, think over.

"The red" the heros name is in even, her first lover is Mrs DE rainer, a second lover is miss mathilde. Theory of status, the identity of the two harmonized appearances of people was significantly higher than him. So, one of my friends is so describe "the red" to me, this is a story of men against women climb.

I dont think Yu Lianyou love, at least until the end, is never seen, the existence of love is a kind of noble, some people say that love is to protect a person, with the standards, obviously, the two affairs cannot be counted as love. Rainer lady fell in love with in the original, but to even want from Mrs DE rainer, just a kind of identity, status to improve the satisfaction and to conquer a better than they are objects of desire, and this is a period of an affair, so even if reluctantly said, at last the moment he sank in madame DE rainer of love, but because of the wrong start, so finally its hard to die well. Besides, he should because Mrs Think DE rainer damaged his and miss mathilde better future, just want to kill DE rainer, madam, it is conceivable that he just want to from beginning to end his own ambitions, not really into the love. For miss mathilde, he wanted to be with miss mathilde is completely was swept away by mathilde external initial originates from one kind of flesh, then mood, a kind of the more cant get more want to torture him. Mathilde had just put in even as a fantasy, mathilde hopes to repeat her worship of a romance, it is not love, at last she kissed in the death of the mans head, also be realize her wish.

I dont like the story of the red, only to see the truth in this story is that Mrs DE rainer for even the relationships we have, but because Mrs DE rainers identity, have never been in love, so when she hadnt really learn to analysis, fell in love with to connect. Of course, have to say, if after you fall in love with is analyzed, can be rational to treat may, it is not pure love.

To even this ambition to insist, perhaps many also struggle at the grassroots level, we not rich "relationship", part of the worth learning. But his selfishness, the excess and lost "sincere" that, absolutely is that we should abandon the part. We should learn to use the right way to realize their dreams.

During the summer holiday, I spent much time in reading. I finished one of the four masterpieces ofChina, Journey to the West. It’s really an interesting book, telling many adventurous stories. I had watched the TV series before, but I found that the book is much interesting. Except for the adventurous experiences, we still can learn something from this book. We should be brave and confident to ourselves, no matter how many difficulties we meet. Our fellows and teamwork is important to us. When we are in trouble, they are the person we can rely on. And the trust between people is of great importance. It can combine people to a group and work together.

Published in 1847, Wuthering Heights was not well received by the reading public, many of whom condemned it as sordid, vulgar, and unnatural--and author Emily Bronte went to her grave in 1848 believing that her only novel was a failure. It was not until 1850, when Wuthering Heights received a second printing with an introduction by Emilys sister Charlotte, that it attracted a wide readership. And from that point the reputation of the book has never looked back. Today it is widely recognized as one of the GREat novels of English literature.

Even so, Wuthering Heights continues to divide readers. It is not a pretty love story; rather, it is swirling tale of largely unlikeable people caught up in obsessive love that turns to dark madness. It is cruel, violent, dark and brooding, and many people find it extremely unpleasant. And yet--it possesses a grandeur of language and design, a sense of tremendous pity and GREat loss that sets it apart from virtually every other novel written.

The novel is told in the form of an extended FLASHback. After a visit to his strange landlord, a newcomer to the area desires to know the history of the family--which he receives from Nelly Deans, a servant who introduces us to the Earnshaw family who once resided in the house known as Wuthering Heights. It was once a cheerful place, but Old Earnshaw adopted a "Gipsy" child who he named Heathcliff. And Catherine, daughter of the house, found in him the perfect companion: wild, rude, and as proud and cruel as she. But although Catherine loves him, even recognizes him as her soulmate, she cannot lower herself to marry so far below her social station. She instead marries another, and in so doing sets in motion an obsession that will destroy them all.

Wuthering Heights is a bit difficult to "get into;" the opening chapters are so dark in their portrait of the end result of this obsessive love that they are somewhat off-putting. But they feed into the flow of the work in a remarkable way, setting the stage for one of the most remarkable structures in all of literature, a story that circles upon itself in a series of repetitions as it plays out across two generations. Catherine and Heathcliff are equally remarkable, both vicious and cruel, and yet never able to shed their impossible love no matter how brutally one may wound the other.

As the novel coils further into alcoholism, seduction, and one of the most elaborately imagined plans of revenge it gathers into a ghostly tone: Heathcliff, driven to madness by a woman who is not there but who seems reflected in every part of his world--dragging her corpse from the grave, hearing her calling to him from the moors, escalating his brutality not for the sake of brutality but so that her memory will never fade, so that she may never leave his mind until death itself. Yes, this is madness, insanity, and there is no peace this side of the grave or even beyond.

It is a stunning novel, frightening, inexorable, unsettling, filled with unbridled passion that makes one cringe. Even if you do not like it, you should read it at least once--and those who do like it will return to it again and again.

In this book, I most moving is Beethoven, Ludwig van Beethoven is a music genius, his talent was very early father found, however, his father is not a qualified good father, his father let Beethoven piano everyday, dont care about his feelings, Beethoven and a violin sometimes shut up in a room, this is the day, with violence forced him to practice, Beethovens childhood was very sad.

Beethovens mother died early, my father is a profligate alcoholic, these, in Beethovens heart, on a break. Beethoven as talent and hard work, however, soon to become famous, but unfortunate thing happened, Beethoven was deaf ears, this for a musician was a great blow.

But, through their own efforts, Beethoven was a success.

On the road in life, there are many contingency, Beethoven was able to defeat him, Beethoven with their own efforts to overcome the difficulties, we must also can!

The celebrity biography has taught me a lot of truth, he taught me Beethovens strong, taught me positive in the face of difficulties, Michelangelo taught me Tolstoys honesty and unyielding spirit.

"Celebrity biography" the book of people, is our role model! We are going to study all their spirit!

“Animals deserve our kindness, sympathy and understanding,” that is what Anna Sewell-the author of Black Beauty-wanted to convince her readers. Thanks to Sewell, I now think about the animal-human relationship from both the human and the animal’s point of view.

The inspiration for Anna Sewell’s novel was drawn from her own relationship with horses. Anna Sewell was born on March 20th, 1820 in Norfolk, England and was crippled while still very young. Due to her disability, she relied on horse-drawn carriages and grew to love horses as a result. She also became appalled by the careless and cruel treatment horses often received from humans and determined to write a book.. In the second year of work on the book, she was told that she had only eighteen months to live, but she persevered in order “to induce kindness, sympathy and an understanding [of the ] treatment of horses.” Five years later, she was still working on Black Beauty, her only book. Unfortunately, Sewell died a few months after publication and never learned of the book’s huge success. Black Beauty formed an impassioned plea for animal rights at a time when such a notion had been dismissed as ridiculous.

The novel portrayed the real condition of working horses living in Britain during the Victorian Era. In that time period, the wealthy thought that their horses were treated well because they never stepped into the stable. In order to call people’s attention to horses’ hard life, Sewell tells the story through the first-person narrative voice of a horse. This innovative personification of an animal made the book a real success. Readers heard the stories straight from the horse’s mouth, literally, as an animal spoke of extremes of joy and suffering. People were shocked by the truth exposed by the novel and changed their attitudes towards animals.

Sewell formed the novel with three kinds of characters: Black Beauty, Ginger and other farm animals. Through their different experiences, I saw similarly painful lives led by the animals. This method made the earnest appeal for animal rights become more and more persuasive.

As a domestic animal, Black Beauty was continuously sold from one family to another. Over the years Beauty enjoyed good masters but also endured mean ones. Sometimes, he was cared for and at other times tortured. In the end, everything turns out all right in a story that is so tender and yet meaningful. His story was so vivid that caught the readers’ heart. The novel brought people laughter and tears and also enlightened them to understand animals at the same time.

Animals cannot speak so understanding is significant to them. Once, for example, Beauty was drawing the carriage to a wooden bridge. The bridge was flooded out in the river and John, the groom, was not aware that it was cracked. But the quickly realized that something was wrong because of Beauty’s abnormal behavior. Momentarily, a man shouted to them, “Stop! Stop!…The bridge is broken in the middle. If you come across, you’ll fall in the river!” Beauty had saved John. However, if John had not tried to understand what Beauty wanted to tell him, there would definitely have been an accident. I learnt from the story that understanding animals is not only essential to them but is also beneficial to us ourselves.

Afterwards and further because in the big marlin wound fish fishy smell brought in several crowds of shark fish snatches the food, but the old person still did not hope like this to give up, finally highlighted encircles tightly, returned to the big fish belt the fishing port, lets other fishermen not admire already.

When I read " the senior fisherman think: Here to the seacoast really was too near, perhaps could have a bigger fish in a farther place... " When, I extremely admire this senior fisherman, because he by now already projected on some fish, but he had not settled to the present situation, but was approaches the bigger goal advance. Again has a look us, usually meets one slightly is difficult, we all complain incessantly. We will be the motherland future, will be supposed to like this old person same mind lofty aspiration, will even better pursue even better, the bigger goal.

When I read " the big marlin start fast to gather round the young fishing boat hover, twined the cable on the mast, the old person right hand lifted up high the steel fork, leapt the water surface in it the flash, did utmost throws to its heart, one wail ended the big fish’s life, it was static static floats on the water surface... " When, my heart also liked together the big stone falls. I extremely admire old person that kind do not dread, the relentless spirit, although knows the match strength is very strong, but he not slightly flinches, but is welcomes difficultly above. Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fisherman’s spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully.

Was reading the big fish’s smell of blood is smelled by one crowd of shark fish, struggled swims snatches the food, old person’s left hand happen to in the convulsions, he only could use the right hand, with wooden stick, the mouth and so on all was allowed to use for the weapon self-defense which attacked, and finally expelled this crowd of shark fish. But the big fish’s meat was already eaten one most, but the old person also charmingly criticized oneself the left hand " this work time actually was resting " time, I also was subdued by the old person optimistic spirit. In the life, some losses are inevitable, we should treat by the optimistic manner, cannot be calculating.

Finally, the novel sees by one youth the senior fisherman fully has 18 foot long big marlin in the measure, once more described this fish’s hugeness, explained senior fisherman overcomes the difficulty was big, non- was more common than.

The novel eulogized the spirit which the senior fisherman fear hard and dangerous diligently did not struggle, we also should like his such, could not satisfy the present situation, should positively to above, do any matter all is relentless, meets difficultly must welcome difficultly above, could give up halfway in no way. Only has this, we only then can obtain a bigger success and the victory.

The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a great part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

Guy de Maupassant(18501893), one of the greatest critical realist writers in the world, is considered as one of three kings of world short story。 Maupassant created six novels and 359 medium forms during his brief lifetime, engendering a momentous effect on the later literature. And it’s his maiden work, Suet Ball that won him world-wide prestige.

In1870, with the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian War, the real-based story Suet Ball happened. The heroine of the story is a humble harlot called Suet Ball. With a group of French residents of Rouen, recently occupied by the Prussian army, the 11 travelers are on their way fleeing to Le Havre in a stagecoach. In virtue of the appalling weather, the stagecoach moves rather slowly and has just covered a few miles by midday. Initially, those occupants snub Suet Ball whereas their attitudes alters with the emergence of a basket filled with scrumptious food and she caters for those hungry travelers selflessly.

The carriage doesn’t stop until they blunders into a Prussian-held territory called T?tes. A Prussian officer detains the coach with no definite reasons. In the next two days, the occupants wait with barely concealed impatience and eventually Suet Ball tells that they will be detained perpetually unless she approves of sleeping with the officer. Out of her patriotism, Suet Ball gives him a point-blank refusal. As it should be, those travelers behave furiously to the officer"s arrogance while during the next two days, they exemplify logic and morality in diverse ways to convince Suet Ball of its validity. What a kind-hearted girl! Finally Suet Ball gives up and sacrifices her body for everyone’s freedom.

The next morning, they are permitted to leave. But those "representatives of Virtue" totally neglect Suet Ball, casting scathing sights on the poor young woman while even disdaining talking to her and rejecting sharing their food with her in the same way that she did at the beginning. From their perspectives, Suet Ball turns out to be no more utilizable and should be condemned for her ashamed conduct. As the stagecoach travels deeper into the night, she seethes with rage against those hypocrites, and ultimately weeps for her lost dignity.

In this story, Maupassant highlighted the intense comparison between Suet Ball and the so-called nobles. Rapacity, hypocrisy, sexuality and nobility intertwine in the spotlight, eulogizing the underclass’ patriotism and lampooning the sham of the aristocracy. Maupassant portrays the inhabitants of the stagecoach in varied disparaging ways. The most luminous character belongs to the two nuns. At first they are portrayed as tranquil and subservient to Lord and demonstrate their fiery patriotic desire to dedicate to their motherland rather than a sordid intention like the other passengers: the nuns profess to haste to a military hospital to heal the wounded French soldiers, hence presenting the argument towards instigating Suet Ball to abandon her resistance. How absurd it is! Nuns are supposed to take strait vows and treat others benevolently. They fill Suet Ball"s head with arguments, arguing that it is not morally wrong to sleep with the officer in order to let the travelers leave, and that the longer she waits, the more young French soldiers will die as the nuns are not there to look after them. Superficially, they claim that it is for the good of the country but indeed they’re just taking advantage of her. Suet Ball"s resistance to the officer"s sexual advances again indicate her patriotism. Cruel wars have stripped all the external stuffs. In contrast to all of these is Suet Ball, a prostitute, revealed to be the most fiercely patriotic, virtuous, and morally admirable character, which Maupassant contrasts with the hypocrisy and snobbery of the others.

It is arguably Maupassant’s most famous short story. The carriage constitutes a microcosm of French society as a whole. And the narrative techniques of this story are rather sophisticated and carefully conceived. On balance, a real noble person like Suet Ball can’t be judged by the appearance or the occupation, his/ her moral quality will glitter when confronting the real ordeal. Consequently, I deem that Suet Ball is worth reading lingeringly, savoring every word.
