I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

《围城》我是先看电视剧，后来有断断续续读丁些片段(这本书情节连续性不强，确实可以跳着读)，最近才—口气从头到尾将整本书读完。读完以后，对这本书又有了些新的认识 。

《围城》是钱钟书先生一生中唯一的一部长篇小说，堪称中国近、当代小说中的经典之作，这是一部读来如嚼橄榄回味无穷的奇书。在妙趣横生、妙喻迭出的幽默外表下，深藏着令过来人低徊轻叹、令少不更事者 然若失。因此，它是一部以看似超然的调侃语调述说人生无奈的笑面悲剧。

读完《围城》，我发现，生活本就是一座围城，婚姻与事业、学习与娱乐、发展与落后、成功与失败，都是这座七彩城中的一种颜色，每一个人每一件事都是城中的一种元素。当一切人和事因为努力和乐观而变得美好，当城中的色彩都均匀和谐时，那么这座围城就不再是一种可怕的束缚和压力，而是一个幸福的乐园。没有人会试图离开她，即使是自怜自哀的方鸿渐也会喜欢，假恶丑也会被同化为真善美。也许世界永远不会变得如此美好，但允许我心中永远存在这种美好的理想。 从主人公精彩而又独特的故事前后，我看到了作者所表达的人性和表现的哲理，以及作者在文中生动传神的描述。笔者认为，这些精髓需要我们去理解、去意会、去感悟。

今天，我读完了由我国著名作家钱钟书的成名作《围城》。这本书文笔优美，写作手法较多，点点滴滴都令人回味。

《围城》这本书主要讲了：”冒牌“博士方鸿渐从国外回国，不料被同船而行的苏小姐所追求。后来，方鸿渐绞尽脑汁地切断了与苏小姐的情谊，才与原来是情敌，现在却是朋友的赵辛楣一起外出找工作。途中，方鸿渐认识了孙小姐，三人一起到一家国立大学当教授。慢慢地，方鸿渐对孙小姐产生了好感，经过数年努力，两人终于走到了一起。不料结婚以后，两人的关系越来越差，最后在一次次争吵中两人终于分手。

在《围城》这本书里，写作手法就如同满天的星点般，数也数不清。有比喻、拟人、夸张等许多手法，十分轻松幽默，让人读起来忍俊不禁。

尤其是这几句：”谁知道从冷盘到咖啡，没有一样东西可口：上来的汤是冷的，冰激淋倒是热的；鱼像海军陆战队，已经登录了好几天；肉像潜水艇士兵，会长时期伏在水里；除醋以外，面包、牛油、红酒无一不酸。“”孩子不足两岁，塌鼻子，眼睛两条斜缝，眉毛高高在上，跟眼睛远隔得彼此要害相思病，活像报上讽刺画里的中国人的脸。“更是令人啧啧称奇，也很值得我们去认真摘抄，细细品味。

在细细消化优美词句时，我也十分佩服钱钟书老先生的写作能力。读着《围城》这本书，会觉得这本书衔接得很巧妙、周到，发生的一切都是那么理所当然，在行云流水中，《围城》就读完了。

看过《围城》后，我学到了很多写作手法，对提高我的写作水平有很大的帮助，所以，它对我意义重大。

《围城》确实是鼎鼎有名，之前随大流瞎读一通，也不知自己读的大概是什么，模糊记得几句钱老先生的俏皮话，闲来无事再来翻看，果然经过社会毒打以后感觉全然不同了，惊异老先生于对生活内核的把握，我们不过全然是凡人罢了，生活就是毫无意义的琐碎与吵闹。

之前有看到各种批评什么方鸿渐的不学无术、软弱无能，孙嘉柔的心机与骗术……还有自认方鸿渐的，我最早也是盯着文中的种种人物，深为不耻，逐渐再想自己就是那个懦弱、不学无术、空想的方鸿渐，再仔细想，我哪里比得上方鸿渐呢，论家庭人家是地主家庭，祖上也是诗书之家;论才学，人家在那个年代就留洋多年，会多种语言;论职业，回来也是去哪里都能拿得出手，不说多么天才，总能应承起来……我哪里能比得上一点点呢，文中种种人物有血有肉，有优点有缺点，也是趁此为文中人物申辩一下，批评前不妨先自我剖析一下。文中韩学愈与方鸿渐一样的“学历”，却能担任历史系主任做教授，是他能力比方鸿渐要强吗?我们现在所拥有的一切是我们靠自己努力得来吗?机缘巧合不过是是社会的宠儿罢了。

你我皆凡人，生在人世间呐，我们碌碌一生，不过终日奔波，间杂着琐碎的生活的吵闹与甜蜜。借用卢梭的话“人是生而自由，却无往不在枷锁之中。自以为是其他一切的主人的人，反而比其他一切更是奴隶”。这枷锁与围城倒有异曲同工之妙，围城围住的怕远不止爱情与婚姻吧，围住的更是我们的人生吧，能够突破围城与枷锁去审视自己人生的人，像偶尔划过天空的流星一样稀有。我们要么从来不去想，要么安慰自己人生本来从来如此，要么转移重点到批评人家的毛病，却实实在在很少去扛起镐头，去凿开围住自己的城或是打破自己的枷锁，当然，果真去做的话也不见得能凿开或是打碎，难融于社会倒是一定的了。

I was read the book which called “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”。 This story is about a clever boy called Tom Sawyer.

Tom is a naughty boy, he doesn’t like school and he doesn’t like work and he never wants to get up in the morning. But he like playing like swimming, fishing and having adventures with his friends. In this story he and his friend have a lot of adventures. These adventures can be dangerous. One night in the graveyard he and Huck see three men. Then Tom and his friends saw a murder. Joey killed the doctor and referred to Peter. Tom and his friends exposed Joey and caught him and became hero.

I think Tom is naughty but he is sympathetic and upright, he is brave he doesn’t afraid of Joey and full of his mind are wicked idea but he is clever and optimistic, he want his friend work for him, he make a lot of funny things.

This book let me know we need to “The road sees rough, gone to bat” to face difficult things we can’t shrink back and we need to fight with them. In the same time l know if only have a dream have pursuit and should try our best to do it , we can’t give up easily .

It just like in our study life we need to do our best. When we have problem we need to overcome it and get better scores.

The novel description is one year near sixty years of age senior fisherman, when alone goes to sea in one fishing, fished one big fish, actually did not pull. The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a great part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

大概八、九天的时间吧，把《围城》这本小说读完了。现在回想起书里的内容，虽然“围城”这个词语在书中极少出现，但书中所叙述的发生在中心人物身上的种种事情一次又一次的体现着“围城”这个词语的含义。印象最深刻的还是那句话“人生是围城，婚姻是围城，城里的人想逃出来，城外的人想冲进去”。多么经典的一句话。然后再想想我们的生活，其实发生在自己以及所有人身边的“围城”还有很多，比如，工作事业也是一座围城，学习也是一座围城等等，在没有接触这些之前，真的想冲进去体会一下是怎样的感觉，但真正进去后才发现与自己想象的根本不一样，所以又想拼命的从里面逃出来。但是，逃出来又谈何容易，尤其面对人生这座大围城，你有没有想过，我们到底想要怎样的人生，我们应该怎样去做，才能走出这座围城，不陷入围困的人生?

有时在生活中遇到一些困难挫折，比如高考失利，比如爱人出轨，比如公司破产等等。有些人会，丧失对生活的信心，从而逐渐堕落消沉下去，甚至会走上违法犯罪的道路。最终围困在这座围城里终生逃不出去，一辈子过着不如意的人生。而有些人面对这些，依然保持着对生活的热爱和信心，然后积极的去改变这些，相信自己未来一定能战胜这些挫折困难，走向成功。最终从这座围城里逃了出去。由此可见啊，围城并不可怕，可怕的是你的内心，你的思想。当你有一天练就了面对全世界的勇气，面对一切困难挫折的勇气，那么你一定会过好自己的一生，从而不被围困，走出这座围城，走向辉煌。

——On Sister Carrie

Carrie was such an ordinary rural girl at the beginning of the story. Sitting on the seat of a bus, she couldn’t help feeling exciting at the sight of the metropolis’ spectacle. She was impressed deeply by large crowd on the avenue, the spacious square or tall buildings.

Far more different from other heroines, Carrie was not a plain pure angel like Snow-white, nor was she brave enough to be a heroine of revolutionist or even a reformer, nor was she so clever as to be a successful career woman who start from scratch.

What attracted her most, after her entering this huge metropolis was the incredible fineries, fashion shoes, smart handbags displaying in the shop windows, the jewellerys shining brightly behind the glass. She dreamed that one day, she could wear all of these, jogging gracefully into the most luxurious hotel with focused sights of admiration.

And this was not merely a dream. Because she had large eyes which can earn others’ sympathy, even love. She had wonderful figure which can win others’ hearts. However, anything she got, anywhere she reached, had not come from her ambition. Things happened, and then she accepted. That’s what she had just done — just to accept willingly from the bottom of her heart. She was not at all an evil woman who would give anything for the fortune or fame. However, she would give uo something for a better life when her instinct defeated her intellect.

That was Carrie, a girl had her own desire, a human being just like many others in the realistic world.

There’s one sentence written in chapter VIII:” When this jangle of free-will instinct shall have been adjusted, when perfect understanding has given the former the power to replace the latter entirely, man will no longer vary.” However, how many people can go that further.

And I want to quote another sentence to wind up my essay:

“In Carrie — as in how many of our wordings do they not? — instinct and reason, desire and understanding, were at war for the mastery.”

In winter vacation, I watched a movie called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is very interesting. Though I watched this movie before, I still felt moved this time. The movie is very famous, and won seven Oscar Awards. The plot is like following:

Long long ago, Snow White stayed happily with her parents. But the queen was jealous of Snow White and she sent the hunter to kill Snow White, but the hunter let Snow White escape. One day, the queen dressed up as an old farmer’s wife and gave Snow White a poisonous apple. Snow White ate the poisonous apple and felt into a deep sleep. The Seven Dwarfs was very sad and put her in a coffin. By and by, a prince saved Snow White and she woke up. They got married and lived happily.

I like this story. It tells us a truth: People like beauty and good. The wicked never kill the good! We are happy the prince and the princess were married and lived happily. We hope they can live forever!

Ive read this twice. The first time I rushed through it just to find out who was the "victim." Yeah. Wasnt really surprised about that. Im sure a few people are thinking it was a serious mistake to off our lamented victim, but honestly, I wasnt really enthused at having to slog through this book.

I understand that this is covering the adolescent years of young Mr. Potter, but the whole teenage angst thing came out of nowhere. There shouldve been some hints as far back as "Chamber" but instead, we have four years of pent-up hormones come flooding out of the page. It is overwhelming at times, a feeling made worse when you realize that there wasnt a big plot; if anything, this was written partially for contract, partially to continue the story （I, personally, could have lived without the whole Hagrid/Grawp subplot, not to mention 50% of Dolores Umbridge, who herself is part pun, part metaphor, yet neither part really does anything but make one groan）。

But one thing to be said, there is growing tension and suspense in the book, which is written and intended--if we remember for a moment and think （perhaps somewhat na-iv-ely）--for young adults and not those of us with seasoned palates. This is why the book deserves a high rating; to me--and to many individuals over the age of, say, 16--this isnt a great novel. But it is an excellent novel for the young adult crowd and anyone who wants a mystery/fantasy/pseudo-thriller with characters who are reaching the genesis of their development. We may not like the person Harry becomes or the browbeating attitude of Umbridge or Rons jealousy rearing its head at odd turns, but it is a realistic portrayal of adolescent confusion and angst, of the tendency for some individuals in todays society to repreinformation and punish anyone who tries to resist the "system."

Yes, this is a heavy-handed statement, but this book is a metaphor as much as it is a fantasy. Remember, the Harry Potter series is desgined as an arc, so we naturally have to have the stage set for the final two books in the saga.

Hardcore Potter fans will enjoy this. Anyone expecting a great epic, however, will be disappointed because of their misconceptions.
