Dr.Manette

As a victim of the gloom society, he lives a miserable and contradictory life. After releasing from prison, the only thing he does is making shoes, which become worse when he comes across a harsh situation. He loves his daughter just as she does to him, even when he knows that Charles Darney is the son of his enemy, he allow the proposal. And when he notices his daughter was totally down to know the fact that her husband was put into prison, he promise to her that he will rescue him out. He spares no effects to do that, in vain, though.

From this person, Dickens may tells that love between the lower-class family members are as pure as crystal.

Jarvis Lorry

An elderly manager at Tellsons Bank and a dear friend of Dr. Manette. He is very loyal to Dr. Manette. He accompanies them all the time without considering his own life.

Couple Defarge

They’re the leader of the revolution. Ernest Defarge, to some extent, is a good man. He was the servant of Dr.Manette, he provides accommodation for him. But his wife, Madame Defarge, is really a wicked woman. She knits all the time, she wants to kill all the people who lead a richer or happier life just out of envying and revenge. The result turns out to be dramatic: she’s killed by herself as a consequence that the gun goes off by accident.

Resurrection maybe is the main theme in the novel. Dickens here implied that he doesn’t agree the upper class treat the poor badly, meanwhile, he doesn’t agree the lower-class to overthrow the upper class. He hopes that they can live in harmony with each other. Underneath the lines, Dickens wants his readers to be careful that the same sort of revolution that so damaged France wont happen in Britain, which is shown to be nearly as unjust as France. But his warning is addressed not to the British lower classes, but to the aristocracy. He repeatedly uses the metaphor of sowing and reaping; if the aristocracy continues to plant the seeds of a revolution through behaving unjustly, they can be certain of harvesting that revolution in time. The lower classes do not have any agency in this metaphor: they simply react to the behavior of the aristocracy. In this sense it can be said that while Dickens sympathizes with the poor, he identifies with the rich: they are the books audience, its "us" rather than its "them". Crush humanity out of shape once more, under similar hammers, and it will twist itself into the same tortured forms. Sow the same seed of rapacious license and oppression over again and it will surely yield the same fruit according to its kind.

保尔.柯察金是一名普通的红军战士，但是他刚毅而坚强的精神，强烈地感动并震撼着我。他把自己短暂的生命献给了革命事业，献给了党。在一切的困难和痛苦面前，他从不低头，也不曾畏惧。面对病魔的一次次袭击，他又拿起了笔——这个新武器，回到战斗队伍里。

在被保尔的坚强意志感动的同时，我在生活中也时刻提醒自己要向保尔学习。每当遇到挫折时，我就会用保尔的精神激励自己，在哪里跌倒，就在哪里站起来。

比如说我学舞蹈。每当老师给我们拉腰时，我不会像以前一样，拉完后满脸都是泪珠。而是让所有的泪都往肚子里流，把所有的痛都藏在心里。而且会告诉自己，以前的失败都不算什么，只要现在发奋图强，不懈地坚持努力，就一定会取得成功!

学习也是一样的，那些整天就知道玩的人，上课不认真听讲的人，长大一定没出息。考试一定也考不出高分。就算这个人再聪明，他没有用到学习当中来，而是用到那些不该用到的地方上，也没什么成就。科学家爱迪生曾经说过——“天才是百分之九十九的汗水加百分之一的灵感。”如果你有了灵感，但不付出汗水，也和平常的人没有什么区别。

所以我们要好好学习、天天向上!为建设祖国而奋斗!

I knew Mark Twain when i was a middle school student. In my memory, there is an article in my English textbook that written by him. At that time, I pay no attention to Mark Twain. However, i knew more about him after I learned the History and Anthology of American Literature, he appeals to me dearly and deeply. As a result, I read a part of his novels in part time. Here I will introduce Million Pounds to you. Before that, I will give some information about Mark Twain to you. And last, it comes my though.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910) was an American humorist, satirist, lecturer and writer, better known by the pen name Mark Twain. He was born in Florida, Missouri and brought up in Hannibal, Missouri. After his fathers death in 1847, he was apprenticed to a printer and wrote for his brothers newspaper. He later worked as a licensed Mississippi river-boat pilot. The Civil War put an end to the steamboat traffic and Clemens moved to Virginia City, where he edited the Territorial Enterprise. On February 3, 1863, Mark Twain was born when Clemens signed a humorous travel account with that pseudonym. He often uses exaggerated ways to show his irony.

Mark Twain is most noted for his novels Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. He is also known for his quotations. During his life, Clemens became a friend to presidents, artists, leading industrialists and European royalty. For I love the One Million Pounds Note best, I would introduce it to you.

Is there real free-lunch in the world? Maybe there is! And such kind of “free lunch” strikes the poor and honest young man Henry Adams who has surprisingly got a one-million bank note from the brothers (Roderick & Oliver)。 As a matter of fact, the brothers had made a bet, if a poor, honest and clever people who come knocking on the door received the one million pounds, what will be happening to his life? The elder brother think that he would starve to death because he could not prove that the money belongs to him, will be arousing others’ suspicion, and even the banks do not let him deposit the money. On the contrary, the younger brother believes that he would live in a very good life. So the brothers lend the one million pounds to Henry Adams, and spent 30 days abroad.

From then on, Henry Adams becomes a bright focus of the money-priority society. Later, the lucky young man experiences two sharply different treatments in the tailor shop. In the ball, people from every social class try every chance to show their friendship and flattery to the new millionaire. Adams never has the chance to spend a penny because no one can change the million and he is soon living in a luxurious hotel suite, wearing expensive suits. No one asks him to pay bill, these are forwarded for later payment. He even gets the chance to go to the Party that held by Duke. Fortunately, Henry meets Jane Griffiths and fall in love with this beautiful woman. He also comes across his good friend. The man gives him some advice to earn money. 30 days has passed, Henry Adams asks his girlfriend company him to meet the brothers. Out of his expectation, his girlfriend is the daughter of one of the brothers. And finally he got a very good job from the brother. And he lived a very happy life.

Mark Twains short story of "one million pounds note" is a very good work. The article satires the thoughts of "money is everything," "money is omnipotent," and expose the ugly face of capitalist society. As we all know, the root of the story was the bet of the brothers. What is the bet actually? Where does the attraction of the bank note lie in?

As far as i am concerned, the One Million Pounds Note takes an interesting, satirical look at the hypocrisy stemming from class distinction in England. England is a country where class and wealth are given extreme significance, especially among the rich. The novel shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people, how the rich are quick to change face when they find out that youre a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost. The story was based on the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the novel from being a mockery of the British society. The love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of comedy to keep one entertained. The ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.

In my heart, Herry was so luckily, not everyone can get the chance to use the million. I am so envious of the "lucky" of the heroine, but at the same time I would like to think that the reason why people carry favor with him is just that they attract too much important to money, isn’t it? Money worship is shameful and should not be reaping more! Money is not omnipotent, and in the world, there are many things that more important than money .

这几天，我读了一本关于战争的书——《钢铁是怎样炼成的》。这本书的作者是前苏联的奥斯特洛夫斯基。他用自己的故事写了这本书。

这本小说讲述了保尔·柯察金从一个不懂事的少年成为一个忠于______的布尔什维克战士，后来他双目失明却坚强不屈从事创作的故事，它赞扬了主人公在绝望中仍然坚强不屈，向命运挑战的精神，鞭挞了资本主义社会的丑陋。歌颂了当时的无产阶级对压迫命运的抗争精神。

保尔的一生跌宕起伏，幸福、开心、美好，但更多的是痛苦和委屈。保尔的一生是多么的悲惨，多么的凄凉，可他没有向命运低头，他勇敢的站了起来，他那不服输的精神战胜了命运。

《钢铁是怎样炼成的》讲的很好，人最宝贵的是生命，生命属于人只有一次，人的一生应当这样度过：当他回首往事时，不会因为碌碌无为虚度年华而悔恨，也不会因为人卑劣生活庸俗而愧疚。

请相信，每个孩子都有一颗善良的心。只要悉心呵护，再贫瘠的心灵土壤上都能开出美丽的人性之花。

最近，我读了曹文轩写的一本小说：《根鸟》。我一看书名，顿时起了疑心：根鸟是一个人名，还是一只鸟?我怀着不解而迫不及待的心情，翻开了书……

呀!我找到了答案：根鸟是个男孩，他家在菊坡。有一天他独自外出打猎的时候，无意中射到了一只白鹰。白鹰的腿上有一张纸条，上面写着：“我叫紫烟，我在采花的时候掉进了峡谷里，快来救救我呀!”当晚，根鸟与父亲寻遍了附近的山谷毫无收获后，根鸟义不容辞地踏上了西寻紫烟之路。途中，根鸟结识了板金先生。板金先生的家族得了一种超级奇怪的毛病，凡是这个家族的男子，一到十八岁，便突然不能做梦。板金先生为了追随梦，一直向西走。板金和根鸟都是为了达到自己的目的，不断努力，就算上刀山、下火海，也在所不惜。

根鸟是一个敢于追求梦想的男孩!读完这部书，让我知道了人在追求自己梦想的道路上，会遇到各种困难、挫折、迷惑，但一定不能放弃。要像根鸟一样：尽管钱丢了，但他还是勇往直前;虽然被人雇佣了，但他还是努力想出各种办法;尽管生病发高烧，但他仍不会停歇下来，执着地往前走!

其实，坚持是一种力量，更是获得成功与胜利的脚步!我想这和我们学习是一样的，不管理想有多远，只要我们向着自己的目标坚持不懈的努力，才有可能获得最后的成功。

放下这本书，我的心情仍久久不能平静。主人公保尔的身影在我眼前挥之不去，他的一生，平凡而伟大。

他是个贫苦家庭的孩子，从小被社会暗面所欺负，就去从了军，投入了革命的浪潮。然而他这一投，投去的是一生的革命意志。无数次在刀尖上跳舞，三次与死神擦肩而过，就算下了战场，失明了残疾了，他也在文学上继续主张他的革命。面对同龄的孩子，他表现出的是更加理智与冷静样貌。他的生命，如同只为革命燃烧。

这种爱国爱民的献身精神，是我们叹为观止的。这样舍身卖命的工作决心，是我们无法效仿的。那么，难道他做这些的毅力，我们不可以学习运用上半分吗？哪怕是在做事时认真一些，都很难吗？

再之，这本书中最的一句话：回想这一生，不因虚度年华而悔恨，不因碌碌无为而羞愧。是的，保尔的一生都在追逐着自己的梦想，自己的事业，为祖国而艰苦卓绝的奋斗着，没有虚度光阴。而现在的孩子们，整天贪图享受，懒于学习，在电子玩具的包围中长大。殊不知，他们的未来还没有底。不懂得珍惜时间，与时间赛跑，把握光阴，去做一些有价值的事情。看着保尔高大的身影，我们理应继承他的精神，去把握时间与精力，都注入到学习上，生活中！

保尔曾说过：“人最宝贵的是生命，生命每个人只有一次，人的一生应该这样度过：当他回首往事的时候，不因虚度年华而悔恨，也不因碌碌无为而羞愧;这样，在临死的时候他就能够说：‘我的整个生命和全部精力都献给了世界上最壮丽的事业——为人类的解放而斗争。’”这句话说有了人应该有伟大的理想，有了理想就要行动，行动了就要尽力，尽力了才不会有遗憾，他这种为实现理想而拼搏的恒心、决心与行动实在令人震惊。

那么钢铁是怎样炼成的?相信大家的脑海里一定会出现那烈焰熊熊的炼钢场面。其实，人生就如同炼钢!没有什么东西是与生俱来的，“铁”变成“钢”，只有一种途径——炼!有人说保尔是天生的英雄，其实，在这个世界上是没有天生的英雄的。保尔之所以能够成为英雄，完全是由于自身的努力——在战火纷飞的战场，面对生与死的考验，他没有后退;在疾风暴雪的建设工地，面对常人难以忍受的劳动强度和饥寒，他没有倒下;在双目失明、疾病缠身的情况下，面对书稿丢失、身体每况愈下的无情打击，他仍没有屈服，终于从一个出身贫苦的少年，成长为一名具有崇高理想、高尚品格和顽强作风的共产主义战士。

人生，可以说是一段曲折而坎坷不平的路。在人生的旅途中，你会遇到重重的困难，要去面对失败的打击和不被人理解的痛苦，等等。但是，这一切都是短暂的。在突破障碍、战胜困难后，回顾走过的道路，我们就会领悟到，那是磨炼人生的火焰。多少英雄、伟人，都是在熊熊燃烧的火焰中锻炼出来的，正如人们常说的：“宝剑锋从磨砺出，梅花香自苦寒来。”和保尔相比，我们在学习和生活中遇到的困难实在是微不足道的，我们有什么理由唉声叹气、裹足不前呢?
