Mid-autumn day is a special festival in China, which is one of the

traditional Chinese festivals. Itfalls on the 15th day of august lunar month

every year. Our Chinese will celebrate it on that day. I think there are not too

many people can reject he temptation of it. I like this festival very much. I

have two reasons.

First of all, mid-autumn has the deep meaning of reunite. In china, people

regard mid-autumn day as very important, so no matter where they are, they will

come back to their family if there is a chance. They don’t like celebrate this

festival outside, which will make them feel lonely. Thus, they will go home by

all means. Luckily, the government also pays great attention to this traditional

festival. There are laws to make sure people have holidays in that special day.

In the other word, mid-autumn festival gives a chance for family get

together.

Secondly, every family will prepare a big meal in that day. All the food is

delicious. It is good to have a big meal. I think nobody will not interest in

delicious food. The mooncake is a necessary decoration for mid-autumn day. It

tastes good, too. It is the traditional for a long time. How pleased to enjoy

the glorious full moon with mooncake!

This is why I love mid-autumn festival so much. It is funny and happy

time.

Eating patterns change over time. Ingredients cannot be seen before in a

In the 20th century， few people have the time to go home for lunch， and

The Spring Festival is my most favorite festival, because it’s time for

family gathering. And the Spring Festival is a new start of a year. It brings me

hope and courage. On Spring Festival, my parents usually take me back to my

hometown. My hometown is a small town. Many of my relatives move to the larger

cities, but we usually go home when the Spring Festival comes. During the

gathering, we share our lives with others and care about each other. Of course,

big meals are necessary. Families prepare for the big meals together. They all

cook their specialty dishes. Therefore, our meals are always delicious. We often

stay at home for three days and then we leave with others’ wishes. I like the

Spring Festival, because I like family gathering.

streets.Several excellent world-famous institutions of higher learning are

located here,namely Nankai University and Tianjin University.As a most important

industrial center for North China,her hundreds of factories and joint ventures

with foreign companies manufacture a wide range of top-grade and high-tech

products or consumer goods.Many of these products have attained or surpassed

world levels.Markets and department stores,big or small,are well-stocked with

all kinds of goods,which are high in quality but low in price.

But in the old days,Tianjin used to be a poor and backward city

characteristic of semi-colonialism and semi-feudalism.The few rich persons lived

in luxury houses while the majority of the working people lived in old,shabby

huts or buildings on narrow and muddy streets.The working class led a very

miserable life.

Today people in Tianjin are going all out to build their city into a

beautiful and prosperous place to live in.

Most westerners always celebrate Christmas Day as their major festival, in

order to memorialize Jesus. During that time, they always have several days off,

so they can enjoy this festival with all their hearts. The children often get

together with their friends. The adults are busy with decorating their houses.

Last summer holiday, I visited to Xiamen with my parentsby plane. My

English teacher once told us that Xiamen is a beautiful city that worth of

visiting. We stayed there for four days. We lived in a small fishing village. On

the first day, we visited to Xiamen University and Nanputuo Temple. Xiamen

University is consideredas the most beautiful and romantic campus in China.

Indeed, its fantastic and its buildings are distinctive. On the second days, we

enjoyed the scenery of Jimei District. On the third day, We visited to Gulangyu.

Its amazing and I like it very much. There are many small specific stores.

However, the huge tourist visitors make the small island crowed. Anyway, it was

a pleasant trip.

The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the

eighth moon, around the time of the autumn equinox(秋分). Many referred to it

simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon".

This day was also considered as a harvest festival since fruits, vegetables

and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant. Food offerings

were placed on an altar set up in the courtyard. Apples, pears, peaches, grapes,

omitted from the Mid-Autumn Festival.
