Mother was out today. It was a good chance to complete the assignment. Seeing the barrel was empty, I decided to fetch water from the well.

I took the empty barrel and went towards the well outside the yard. It snowed yesterday, so the alley was very slippery. A layer of thickice was frozen on the platform of the well. I was frightened by the sight, but I gathered my courage to walk towards it.

The alley was so slippery that I walked with difficultly. Suddenly, I slipped and fell down, water in the barrel totally poured down on the ground. I stepped on the platform carefully. After standing steadily and squatting down slowly, I hooked the barrel at the end of the rope and put the rope down slowly. I made an effort to drag the barrel up after it was filled with water. I was very careful because it was easy to slip and fall. Then, I carried the barrel of water and returned to my house. My figners were frozen stiff. I realized my effort was in vain. I hated myself.

I failed to finish the assignment but I did experience life through a trifle which seemed easy but difficult to do well. Such was my first experience of life.

Salaries should reflect people’s dedication and job responsibilities.

However, sports figures, who don’t benefit the community in general, earn

millions of dollars each. In my opinion this is wrong. Things should be done to

change this situation.

If we take the example of a sport star such as Tyson, it is hard for us to

say in what way he benefits the society. In fact, his disobeying game rules sets

a bad example for young people, and his abandoned behavior encourages people to

experiment with sex and violence. Besides, his job does not require special

skills or years of training and education. Although he can entertain and excite

audience, I do not think he is justified to receive so much money and his job

can be considered essential.

On the other hand, most people in ‘ordinary’ professions like nurses,

doctors and teachers earn only a small fraction of the income of these “stars”.

However, if we give a careful look at these professions, we will find that they

not only require special skills and years of education but also help the people

and the whole society. For instance, teachers disseminate knowledge to the

society; doctors and nurses give patients good medical care and prolong their

life. They are much more useful, and actually more essential to society than

sports personalities. Without these ‘ordinary’ professions, our society would

stop progressing. Their salaries should relate to skill, education or the value

of the inpidual to society.

Things should be done to make salaries fairer. Huge amounts of money shall

be given to more deserving people. It seems that the only solution is to impose

heavy taxes upon people who earn excessively high salaries.

With the broadcast of smog,this long-standing environmental problems,become the hot discussion once again.According to some reports,the frequent appearances of smog obscure the clarity of the sky recently.Some people drove slowly on the road because they could not see clearly. Smog is the general expression of various higher-than-permitted suspended particulate matter (such as PM2.5) in the atmosphere,which express the state of air pollution .It contains fog and haze,both of them are disastrous weather. Fog consists of a large number of tiny water or ice crystals.Its actually a harmless natural phenomena that makes visibility worse .Haze is air pollution in which is mixed up with dust, smoke and other dry particles. The components that make up haze may have negative effect on peoples health, especially for children and the old.

So its necessary to find out the reason why leads to smog and work out the resolution.If we trace the cause for smog weather ,the main points are natural causes that include windblown dust and manmade causes which include three aspects.Firstly,china s air quality standards are rather lax and evaluation factors are limited.Secondly,some enterprises just go for economic interests instead of observing relevant law and regulations.Obsolete equipment、industrial fuel burning and manufacturing operations are high likely to emit much wasted air.Thirdly,across our society ,relevant protection awareness has not built up.Just for the sake of convience to go out,people rely more and more on travelling and working by car while car is the main cause for smog.

To settle this problem,a series of meaures should be taken as follows.Primarily,we should establish a sound control system of smog. Not only can environmental protection departments strengthen air monitor,but government should enact more strict laws and regulations.Moreover,Reduce pollution sources is the fundamental solution to cut air pollutants. For example,we can reduce the amount of fuel vehicles or close down high polluting enterprises.Developing green and energy-saving energy can lower the emission of smog.Last but not least, People should do personal protection.They need to reduce the time for outdoor sports and pay attention to rest in smog days.Everyone all over the country should take measures to reduce the smog weather. We can use more public transport such as the bus and the underground so that the number of cars will be limited.Also,people should plant more trees. As far as Im concerned ,if we work together to do such measures ,smog weather will vanish completely and we will get clear and blue sky.

Nowdays,TV and computer is becoming more and more popular in our ldaily life,since which is a important tool to our entertainment and a way which we can scan and understand the thing that happened outside.

But every coin has two sides .computer and TV can make us learn new knowledge which we cant leran from class ,it can help us find out the diference between our life and out world,so that us make a progress.However,on the contary TV and computer also take us some disadvantage to our life ,especially to young student ,like us.TV and computer easily male us addicted to its fun ,we easily like its game so fogert to finish our homework ,even want to play game so cut classes .
