那是初二年时，我迷上了学萨克斯，爸爸在我锲而不舍地软磨硬泡之下，只得点头同意。在爸爸将锃亮的萨克斯交付于我时，他说道：“我很高兴你有你自己的坚持，但关键的是学会自我管理，对自己的选择应该有所担当，不能儿戏!”“当然啦。”我漫不经心地应道。
当时我完全沉浸在喜悦之中，并没将这些话放在心上。可是好景不长，萨克斯并不如我想像中的那么好学。爸爸给我找的老师以严厉出名，教学时不放过一丝一毫的细节，什么“嘴型不对，走调走到天上去!”“气吹不够，发出来的声音与鸭叫一般!”“手指没按紧，破轮胎漏气漏不停!”等等疾言厉色，令我不寒而栗。没过多久，我就被“折磨”地快哭出来了。十根手指又肿又痛，嘴唇咬破了皮，都是家常便饭。等到升上初三，功课更加繁重，本就紧张的学习生活，让我借口放弃了萨克斯。
就在这时，我的摸底考也考砸了。那天一回到家，我就独自坐在书桌前发呆。爸爸见我郁闷的样子，走了进来，在我身边坐下：“你还记得当初你是怎么喜欢上萨克斯的么?你已经做出了决定，而现在又要放弃。为什么?”爸爸的语气略带责备，我不语。“想要做好一件事，就要承担相应的责任，要有目标，要有规划。你要对你的决定、你的目标负责。”爸爸说完，拍了拍我的肩膀，走了出去。我一个人傻傻地坐在这儿：责任?目标?负责?规划?这几个词在我脑中盘旋。倏然，我的眼睛从迷茫变得明亮，我想通了——有担当，学必成!
于是，我又从新拾起了曾放下的萨克斯，安排好作息时间，管理好各科进度，严律于己，在初三吃紧的时光中显得游刃有余，学业与萨克斯齐头并进。最终，我迎战中考，大获全胜，而同年暑假，萨克斯考级成功，十级证书证明了我律己和担当的精彩。
联想到“沉睡中的大学生”，我深深知道，现在的青少年缺少的是一份责任感，一份对责任的担当以及自我管理的自律。翻开历史轴卷，“五四”先辈们一个个指点江山，激扬文字，为祖国的前途敢担当，善自律，虽百死而尤未悔，最终铸就了少年强则中国强，为中华民族的崛起和尊严谱写了辉煌的篇章。
