Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

今天被评为三八红旗手--巾帼建功标兵，我感到十分的荣幸，也很高兴能站在这里给大家演讲，回顾我所走过的环保之路。

我叫田桂荣，今年53岁，是新乡县合河乡范岭村的一位普通农村妇女。几年来，在各级妇联和广大姐妹的帮助下，从普通的农村妇女成为中外媒体竞相报道的“民间环保大使”。特别是～年6月，我作为亿万农民姐妹的代表荣获了海内外有影响力的中国妇女时代人物称号。当我从全国中央委员、全国妇联主席顾秀莲大姐手里接过证书时，泪水一下子涌了出来。我的心情是多么的激动，因为我知道，我之所以能够拿奖，是因为在我的身后有数不清的姐妹在帮我。当时我就说，拿奖了，就好比是汽车到了加油站，在以后的日子里，我还要继续拼搏，为我们妇联姐妹增光添彩。

我是怎么回收废旧电池的

在一个偶然的机会里，我得知，一节一号电池烂在地里，能使一平方土地失去使用价值；一节纽扣电池能污染6万升水，相当于一个人一辈子的用水量。废电池中含锌、镉、汞等重金属，在这几种生物累积作用下，能引起人体贫血、肾损伤、肝癌等疾病，并对神经系统造成危害。

听到了一串精心触目的文字我震撼了。大家知道，我1912年开始生产电池，是生产电池的大国，消费电池的大国。新乡是生产电池的基地。在良心的驱使下我决定回收废旧电池。我用绿布制作了3000多面三角旗，写上地址、电话，制作多个回收箱发放给商店批发电池的客户，印制万份倡议书给大中院校发放，走街串巷以每节2分的价格回收电池，在我的实际行动影响下，有一位80岁的老干部骑自行车，送来8节废电池。三个月寒风刺骨的，总算没有白跑；一个浴池搓背的女工下夜班在大街上捡废电池1000多节送过来；后来感动大学生、市民长期给我送废电池。为了加大回收量，我还在大中学校和超市设立回收箱，就这样长期宣传，也遭到社会上一部分人的冷嘲热讽，有的说我挣钱多了想捞名；有的说我想申请吉尼斯；有的说我歪嘴吹喇叭—歪劲不小；还有当面说你要是死了就成英雄了。我听到或心里很不是滋味，我不死，我要为环保而活，活着就要当一个无名的环保英雄。

渐渐的收多了，收到20吨，家里放不下了。没有想到别的办法处理，这怎么办！老范吵我，多次吵我，我也不放过他，你在大队我支持你20年，你就不能支持我两三年，实在不行，分家也可以，要不就离婚。我想干的事情，非干个名堂不可。老范吵归吵，他还帮我收废电池。儿子更恨我了，说我着迷了，不能看我。我每天晚上回家很晚，跟作案差不多。在外面人家笑话我，到了家，家人不能理解。收的多了环保部门也说我集中污染，收多了成了污染源，电池没地方放了，我到山里和老伴找个山洞也不行。真难呀！到太行山痛哭一场，以前有孟姜女哭长城，现在有田桂荣哭废电池，自劝自己不哭泣。这真是上也上不去，下也下不来，真懂骑虎难下这个词的意思了，愁的时候想喝酒也明白了什么是借酒浇愁愁更愁……

这几年做好事真难呀！儿子婚礼推了四年了，湖南小商贩远道而来，想买走废电池，但他光要里面的金属，我说：你给我一万元我也不给你，你把污染的埋到地下，到时候又成了毛主席故乡的污染源了，电池处理不了，我死都不瞑目。最后在新华社、中央电视台的关注下，省环保局拉走了，可了了我的心病，儿子结婚了，感谢政府的关怀。

在收废电池的过程中，从良心来说，是给后代留一片净土，将来变废为宝，还推动了我国废电池无害处理技术向前发展；最主要的是增强了人的环保意识。直到现在，我还在继续坚持，我还一直在大中院校宣传，让学生用环保电池、可充电池，不乱仍电池。

我是怎么建立环保网站的

为了利用现代化的宣传工具，2001年9月12日，网站开通了。自己对电脑一窍不通，边学边指导，我也可以在网上学到很多知识。经过三次该版，我的目标是在三年以后，成为全国最大的绿色网站，占领绿色空间。在网上我可以向全世界进行环保交流。许多记者都是在网上看到事迹后慕名来采访的，这更是“三个代表”重要思想的先进文化表现之一。我这个农村妇女经过几年自学电脑走上大学讲台进行演讲，向大中小学生讲授环保知识。

我是怎么建立环保协会的

2000年获得国际大奖之后，我清醒的看到一个人的力量太小，要想在民间环保领域有一番作为，就必须创办环保组织。于是奔波了200多天，费尽心血，创办了全国首家农民创办的环保组织。当时，河师大席国喜教授说：“成立协会难，成起来更难”。我不相信，我咬着呀想，中国只要有环保组织存在，我就要去拼搏，去争取。

我为了成立协会，跑到北京到梁从诫那去经，光往主管部门跑了100多趟，有时候几趟都没有收获。我记得有有一次，一个；领导说，你收的电池没法处理，收旧电池你没有办证，还想成立环保协会，说了我一大堆难吃难咽的话！我听了后，泪往肚里流。从主管部门出来，我本想找个没人的地方哭上一场，可是哭也没时间哭，自己劝自己不学孟姜女，要学花木兰！

我是一个农家妇女，在城里没有一点背景，最后跑到省环保局去咨询，省高主任说：“别跑了，找你那主管环保的市长”。我回来以后就找市长，市领导做了批示，主管部门也批下来了。

在政府、环保局和各界人士的帮助支持下，2002年5月12日，我的环保协会终于成立了，成立的那一天，搞的很隆重，我在上面讲话时，大河报记者刘新萍发现老范在一个小角落里擦泪，只有他是最了解我的。

环保协会向前发展困难比较大，资金没有。但我认为协会的成立，好像是万里长城走完了第一步，在艰难也要心甘情愿长期走下去……明知征途有艰难，越是艰难越向前！

环保协会不断发展壮大，在协会共同努力下，～年12月份，环保协会获得了全国环保生态大奖。

我是怎样保护母亲河的

从2000年，每遇暑假，我自费组织大学生考察生态，宣传环保，没有资金就徒步行走，克服种种困难，有时候想不到困难就会发生。有一年顺着黑水卫河步行，昏倒在路，大学生和我脚都磨成了泡，为了考察河流，即使累死在河边也心甘情愿。保卫母亲河活动受到上至党中央、团中央赞扬，下到市领导连书记的赞扬和大力支持，年底还获得团中央生态建设大奖。

通过这几年点点滴滴，一步一步走向了人民大会堂领奖台！多次和团中央在一起交流，我心里是多么激动！领奖杯时，我是这样想，我是代表所有支持的人去领奖的。但是成绩只能代表过去，我今后还得拼搏。有的说“我是骑虎难下了”。在座的姐妹，我就是不下了，为了环保事业，我不是女娲，要带领更多的人去补天；我虽不是大禹，大学大禹的精神来治污。大家说卫河的水清不清，新乡美不美，美！为了新乡天更蓝，水更清，为了创建优秀旅游城市，发展经济的同时，我们既要金山银山，更要绿水青山。大家要记住，保护环境，就是保护我们自己。

姐妹们！同志们！谁说女子不如男，在座的都是花木兰！姐妹们，让我们用崇高的理想激励自己，用昂扬斗志鼓舞自己，用积极乐观的心态用心去做事情，用自己的实际行动唤醒人们的环保意识。希望广大妇女姐妹用双手建设美好的家园，让我们在不同的岗位上拼搏吧！

If we now enjoy too much against the victory of nature, think what we have made remarkable achievement, that we are not far from the destruction is

Climate warming, the hole in the ozone layer, acid rain and toxic waste, extinction in the wild, as well as the air and water pollution and so on, this is our current faces a series of global environmental problems, in the face of these problems, what should we do?

Everybody is responsible for protecting the environment, we should start from the environment around, from start to protect the surrounding environment, for example: abide by the provisions of the relevant banned throw all kinds of waste, the waste thrown to the designated place or containers, avoid using disposable beverage cups, lunch boxes, plastic bags, cardboard boxes, etc. Instead, it can greatly reduce waste, reduce waste disposal work pressure, take good care of trees and flowers, little New Year card, keep clean, etc. Is small, but, as long as we begin, working together, start from saving resources and reducing pollution, adjust their own way of life, we can protect the earth to make a contribution.

人类自诞生起，一切衣食往行及生产，生活，无不依赖于我们所生存的这个星球，地球上的大气、森林，海洋、河流、土壤、草原、野生动植物等，组成了错综复杂而关系密切的自然生态系统，这就是人类赖以生存的基本环境，长期以来，人类把文明的进程一直滞留在对自然的征服掠夺上，似乎从未想到对哺育人类的地球给予保护和回报，在取得辉煌的文明成果的同时，人类对自然的掠夺却使得我们所生存的这个星球满目疮疤，人口的增长和生产活动的增多，也对环境造成冲击，给环境带来压力。

众所周知，人类是以自然环境为生存，延续的物质基础。但是，随着现代工业的发展，自然环境却遭受到愈来愈严重的破坏。大气污染，水污染，陆地污染……以至世界上再也找不到一块净土。

或许你会想，想在重要的是发展科技，科技发达了之后在去环保也不迟，那你到时候可要后悔了。如果我们现在过分陶醉于对抗大自然的胜利，认为我们取得了什么了不起的成就，那我们离灭亡也就不远了

气候变暖，臭氧层空洞，酸雨，有毒废弃物，野生生物灭绝，以及大气、水污染等，这是我们当前面临的一连串全球环境问题，面对这些问题，我们该做些什么呢?

保护环境，人人有责，我们应该从身边的环境做起，从保护周边的环境做起，例如：遵守有关禁止乱扔各种废弃物的规定，把废弃物扔到指定的地点或容器中，避免使用一次性的饮料杯、饭盒、塑料袋，用纸盒等代替，这样可以大大减少垃圾，减轻垃圾处理工作的压力，爱护花草树木，少赠送贺年卡，保持清洁等。虽是小事，但是，只要大家动手，一起努力，从节约资源和减少污染着手，调整一下自己的生活方式，我们就能为保护地球做出一份贡献。

节约资源，保护环境,做保护地球的小主人。

The picture from the Angle of the woodpecker exposes human for their own interests at all costs and make things, also warned us: if we dont pay attention to protect the natural environment, our every bit of damage to nature will eventually fall on our heads.

In fact, our lives are like the loggers in the cartoon. For example, in the corridor of the school, the playground, we often can see be knead into a ball of paper and some paper planes did not write a word. They were only the foot on the ground, they are homeless. A complete book, being ripped and torn, so little. This is book that students who do not know to save. Without a rubber wipe after they write a typo, but directly pull down, knead into a ball casually, so resolved, regardless of the consequences of abuse.

If everyone in the world to protect the environment, then the world will be more beautiful! We also learned a few words: be gentle with the earth is to yourself; Save the earth is to save the future. Human in the destruction of the earths environment and hurt himself, at the same time, as long as we change, protect earths environment is to protect yourself. Lets join together to love the earth, love of the natural environment! Let us hand in hand for the beauty of the earth to create a green home!

今天，我看见了一篇漫画：有一个伐木工拿着斧头在砍树，他的旁边有一只啄木鸟不停地啄着他的头，认为他的脑子里有虫。

这幅漫画从啄木鸟的角度揭露了人类对为自己利益不惜任何代价而做出的事，同样也告诫我们：如果我们不注意保护自然环境，我们对大自然的每一点伤害终究会降临到我们头上。

其实，我们的生活中也有像漫画中的伐木工那样的人。比如说：在学校的走廊上、操场上，我们常常都能看到被揉成一团的纸团和一些一字未写的纸飞机。它们在地上被无数只脚踩，它们无家可归。一个完整的本子，被人撕了又撕，就这样所剩无几了。这都是那些不懂得节约的同学的大作。他们写错字后不用橡皮擦擦，而是直接扯下来，揉成一团随便一扔，就这么解决了，不顾后果地滥用。

如果世界上所有人都保护环境，那么世界将多美好啊!我们也学了几条名言：善待地球就是善待自己;拯救地球就是拯救未来。人类在破坏地球环境的同时也在伤害着自己，只要我们换一换，保护地球上的环境就是保护自己。让我们一起加入到热爱地球，关爱自然环境的行动中来吧!让我们手拉手为地球创造一个绿色的美好的家园吧!

Success, as is known, is the pursuit of many ambitious people. It requires much of a person.

In my  above all, one should be a person of strong perseverance. Rome was not built in a day. On our long way to success, there are  undoubtedly many difficulties standing in the way. If we lose heart and give up

halfway, nothing can be achieved. Throughout history, we havehad many famous successful people in the world, of whom no one is weak-minded. Take the great American scientist Edison as an example, he tried experiment after experiment and had one failure after another before he finally invented the bulb, which lighted up the whole world. So we can conclude perseverance can surely be one of the secrets of success. Furthermore, one needs to work hard to realize his dream just as the famous saying goes “Hard work leads to success”.

Look at these around us and we’ll find diligent people are always the favor of our society. They usually achieve more than expected. Why do so many of our classmates of average intelligence go far ahead of othersHard work is definitely supposed to be the answer. And still, I hold that one must keep in pace with the informative world. There’s no denying that our world is changing every day. So one can never be locked alone inside his own room, doing his research work and dedicated to book knowledge

How can an isolated person be well-informed enough to go ahead of othersIf so, that could be ridiculous. Success is what one desires. So long as one is perseverant, hard working and up-to-date, I am sure success is near at hand

Recently, I have seen an impressive film—“Meet the Parents”, which is about

a woman Palm brought her boyfriend Greg to her parents’ home to spend holiday.

In the film, Greg was so dishonest to Palm’s parents that Palm’s father is

suspicious of his behavior and quality. As a result, Greg is obnoxious to all

and has to leave. As far as I am concerned, the consequence is heavily caused by

his dishonesty. If Greg could be real him all the time, he would get much

respect and appreciation and would not get much frustration. From the film, I

have learned that being honest was extremely important and necessary. In other

words, being honest is a basic principle for us to deal with others.

For one thing, we will not get others’ trust unless we are honest. If we

deceive others, we would get the same in return, and even no one would make

friends with us or even communicate with us. For another, we will get others’

respect and appreciation if telling the truth. Telling the truth and being

ourselves, we will get a healthy and peaceful surrounding to grow up better.

However, something strange happens in our society. There is a strange

phenomenon that honest people suffer but the dishonest benefit a lot. It made

some people have a suspicion that being honest is not so important.

But I still believe that these are just a few cases, since honesty is

deeply rooted in our minds and we still consider it as a basic principle in

social contacts.
