人们每每谈到我们苏北老区总是感慨万分。苏北大地，是一片美丽而神奇的土地，我们盐阜地区也曾在中国革命史上留下过光辉的一页。戎马倥偬的年代，这一方热土，曾经为中国的革命付出了多么昂贵的代价。新中国成立后，这里的人们用自己的双手，凭着苏北人的勤劳和智慧，使自己的家乡发生了翻天覆地的变化。说起这一切，我们心中总是充满自豪。但是，我们也应该看到，这里与祖国的其他发达地区相比还有着很大的差距，这里个别地方的贫困还有待于进一步治理。这里的整体经济还有待进一步的腾飞。我们，作为苏北青年，首先应该感觉到的是什么?责任，感到的应该是责任。“生我是这片土地，养我是这片土地。”我们爱着脚下的这片热土。我们就要承担起建设家乡，繁荣家乡的责任。

在我的家乡，有一位与我的父亲同龄人。他就是全国闻名的身残志坚的农村科技铁人姜德明。他立足农田，孜孜不倦地研究着小麦、棉花如何在家乡的土地上能够有更高的总产量。当他的研究取得了初步成果时，癌症又一次地向他袭来。他没有倒下，拄着拐杖依然风里雨里地留在田头，走访在农户家中。不懈的努力，他培育出的优良品种得到了推广，种植技术得到了普及，粮食总产量大幅度提高，农民的双手欢迎这样的农技员。把他誉为“农技铁人”。他是我们老区青年的好榜样。去年，他在我市青年成人宣誓仪式上谆谆告诫我们，为老区经济的腾飞，要努力学习，掌握科学文化知识，立足本职，捧着一颗心来，不带半根草去!我们记住了这位铁人的话，我们意识到了自己的责任，我们盐阜老区的青年们都会努力的。

是的，责任放在我们每个青年的肩上，放眼新世纪，振兴中华，建设家乡，我们是不会退缩的。

李大钊曾在《青春》一文中写道：“冲决历史桎梏，涤荡历史之积秽，新造民族之生命，挽回民族之危机。”今天的我们虽然无需面对国土的沦丧，无需承受战火硝烟，但我们面前的任务同样艰巨。我们应该努力成为鲁迅所说的“创造人类历史上从未有过的第三代。”“位卑未敢忘忧国”，以天下为己任，青春热血献祖国，顽强地努力，无私地奉献，为祖国的繁荣昌盛贡献自己的全部智慧和力量。我们今天是桃李芬芳，明天是社会的栋梁，要掀起中华腾飞的巨浪。

Recently, I have seen an impressive film—“Meet the Parents”, which is about

a woman Palm brought her boyfriend Greg to her parents’ home to spend holiday.

In the film, Greg was so dishonest to Palm’s parents that Palm’s father is

suspicious of his behavior and quality. As a result, Greg is obnoxious to all

and has to leave. As far as I am concerned, the consequence is heavily caused by

his dishonesty. If Greg could be real him all the time, he would get much

respect and appreciation and would not get much frustration. From the film, I

have learned that being honest was extremely important and necessary. In other

words, being honest is a basic principle for us to deal with others.

For one thing, we will not get others’ trust unless we are honest. If we

deceive others, we would get the same in return, and even no one would make

friends with us or even communicate with us. For another, we will get others’

respect and appreciation if telling the truth. Telling the truth and being

ourselves, we will get a healthy and peaceful surrounding to grow up better.

However, something strange happens in our society. There is a strange

phenomenon that honest people suffer but the dishonest benefit a lot. It made

some people have a suspicion that being honest is not so important.

But I still believe that these are just a few cases, since honesty is

deeply rooted in our minds and we still consider it as a basic principle in

social contacts.

环境保护对我们来说并不是一个新问题。一件件小事虽然都很不起眼，但却体现我们究竟具备了多少环保意识。 Environmental protection is not a new problem for us.Although small things are inconspicuous, it reflects how much environmental awareness we have.

环保是现代生活中人类面临的问题。要解决这一问题必须从基础做起。首先，要大量宣传，提高人们的觉悟与认识，加强环保意识。就是要在全民族树立起环保意识，具体地说就是树立资源意识，生存意识，让他们知道不环保的危害。还要让大家都认识到，保护环境与资源和我们每个人息息相关，要以少成多。保护环境不仅是关乎子孙后代的生存，而且已经直接关系到人类社会今天的存亡!不能抱着环保多我一人少我一人差别不大的思想，也不能对保护环境有任何松懈和怕麻烦的思想。

其次，要进行废物回收利用，减少对森林树木的砍伐。还要加强对白色污染的处理，少使用塑料制品最后，要对清洁方面作改进。使市容更整洁。为了地球的明天，我们必须从现在开始努力，要好好地保护环境。于此我们提出如下建议：实行垃圾分类袋装化。这样不仅能减少环卫工人的工作量，还能更好地起到废物利用，减少污染，节约资源。买菜时，少用塑料袋，尽量用竹篮子。用笔尽量用可换芯的，减少圆珠笔外壳的浪费与垃圾量。外出吃饭尽量不用一次性饭盒。

只要我们从自己做起，从小事做起，大家共同努力，持之以恒，就一定能为社会、为地球、也为自己留下一片碧水蓝天。

One of the difficulities to an international resolution to environmental issues is the difference in individual nations view and policies toward environmental protection。 In order for international cooperation to occur and succeed， the nations of the world must submit themselved to international standards and supervision by an international commission elected by the participating nations of the world。 All members must agree to abide by the standards established。

The environmental issues facing each country are not unrelated to the well being of the rest of the world。 The impact is long term and international in scope。 Without international cooperation and agreement to address such environmental issues as glacial melting at the South Pole， depletion of the ozone layer， water pollution， air polution， etc。， the environmental conditions of the world will deteriorate to the detriment of every nation， not just those that ignore or lack the resources and technology to resolve their individual environmental problems。

As part of the same planet， it is the responsibility of each individual and nation to protect the global environment。 Only international cooperation will provide the timely solutions and the effectiveness needed to stop the deteriorating global environment。

In the past few decades, our Earth has changed a lot, but to the bad direction. Among these changes, the air pollutions resulting from a huge number of automobiles and coal-burning is almost the severest. The severe air pollution alarms humans of the heavy load we have exerted on Earth by our insatiable production and usage of automobiles. However, with the deepening of urbanization, more cars are needed, which will make the air pollution worse. Therefore, the following actions should be taken. First, we should apply the most cutting-edge technologies in order to adopt new forms of energy as substitutes for fossil fuels. In my early years, I did not see the value of education.

When I was going on thirteen, I started to run my own shop. From then on, I worked hard to become a successful businessman.

One day I realized the importance of the English language in the business world and started taking night classes.

I was able to communicate well with foreign customers after two years of English study. But I started to feel that, in the long run, having a limited knowledge of English was not enough to make my business successful. I knew that only a well- rounded education could guarantee my success in the future.

When I was eighteen, I had to make a decision to continue doing business or go back to school. There was one obstacle keeping me from getting an advanced education. I had only completed elementary school up to that point. I then went back to senior high school after four months of tutoring in different subjects. Being at school for the first time after so many years was somewhat embarrassing because my classmates were at least two or three years younger than I. I concluded that my age did not matter. The important thing was getting into college.

I took the College Entrance Exams. Although my math exam result was only one point below the required score. I never gave up hope. The following year, I took it again and received the highest score in my city. Achieving such an amazing result gave me encouragement and courage necessary to continue my education to the next step.

I am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. My passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as I continue to live.

“Live and Learn.” is the motto I have adopted. I believe with an education I will succeed. So, if you are wondering whether education is important, don’t hesitate a moment to step up and seize the opportunity.

三人旋律

个人的力量是渺小的。俗话说得好啊，人多力量大啊！我决定，让全家行动起来。

“爸、妈，手机电充好了吧？”看着躺在沙发上的两部手机，我问道。昨天早晨，我看到它们就在那里了，没想到一天过后，他们仍在原来的位置。要知道，充完电及时拔下插头，也是低碳的表现呢！“嗯，应该早就充好了，都忘掉了。”妈妈回答道。“就是，你要不说我都忘了”爸爸也接上话。看着爸爸妈妈漫不经心的表情，想想平时都是他们教训我，今天我也抓住一次当老大的机会，说道：“现在流行低碳。你们知不知道？充电器不用时拔下插头，一年可以少排放好多二氧化碳呢！”于是，我就给他们讲了讲有关这方面的知识。我看到，爸爸妈妈的表情，从一开始的漫不经心，到后来惊奇不已。最后，爸爸感慨道，：“原来我们生活中的小事，竟然可以节约这么多啊！”妈妈也说道，：“就是，以前很多东西都不注意，本以为没什么，想不到浪费了这么多东西！”我趁机说道：“那我们一起低碳吧。反正也不困难！”爸爸妈妈都欣然同意。于是我们家开始低碳。

虽然全家低碳活动轰轰烈烈地展开了，可我还是不满意，我还想让的人加入低碳的行列。

经过一番商议，我们全家决定，在周末时间参加社区举办的活动。这一周是植树，那一周是捡白色垃圾，这次是宣传，那次是实践……我们一家每周都会去参加，号召大家一起加入到低碳的行列中来。我相信，只要地球上60亿人一起努力，那么温室效应一定会远离地球，太平洋的水就一定不会被“烧开”。
