need it most, helps you go through the difficult moments of your life.The most

important of all, their love for you gives you confidence in yourself, and makes

your life easier and a lot more beautiful. Friends also have an important role,

because you can evade from concerns by going out with them, talking about things

that are not related to your work, and sharing with them your problems and your

acheivements.

Last week, my parents told me the good news that my family would go camping

with my uncle’s family. I felt so excited about it, because I could spend the

whole night outside, which never happened before. When the day came, we brought

the equipment and bought some food. In the afternoon, the two families settled

down, then we started to walked around. My cousins and I rushed to the forest

and went to the highest point, where we can appreciate the whole sight. Standing

on the highest place, I felt so great. The world was in front of my eyes and I

thought of the old poets’ description. At night, we set the the fire and talked

happily. The parents were talking about the family chores and the kids were

About myself: I left school at 16 because I wanted to earn a bit of money. After that I got a few part-time jobs as a waiter, etc. But I didnt stick to any of them for long. Recently Ive been doing a bit of hitch-hiking round Europe so Ive had some experience of traveling the hard way which should come in handy on the expedition youre planning. The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my

homework equally according to the holidays so that I can finish all of them in

time. And during my winter vacation, we welcome the most important festival in

China—Spring Festival, it’s also called Chinese New Year by lots of

foreigners.

At that night, our family came together and had a big meal. Of course we

had dumplings that night, because that is our Chinese traditional. We then watch

the CCTV spring festival evening party together and watch the beautiful

fireworks. That’s the happiest time in this world! The winter vacation I had

dreamed all year around was finally coming. And I really enjoyed a lot from

it.

The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my

Secondly, I took some extracurricular activities and read some English original

reading. My favorite book is , written by Sherlock Holmes. Among all the

classical movies, the Sound of Music was the most exciting one. During my

holidays I also made some assistance for my physical class teacher, surely I met

lots of difficulties in this stage and from which I knew what perseverance

really was. Lastly, I went to the temple fair and was lucky to taste several

Chinese traditional dishes; “Jiaohua chicken” is one of them. It is said it

originated from Hangzhou centuries ago, made by a famous beggar Hong Qi Gong,

the senior leader of Beggar Gang.Steamed with fresh lotus leaf wrapped up,it is

famous for its special aroma and taste. Now that the holiday is ending and a new

semester is coming, I need to fresh up and get started to embrace the upcoming

challenges.

The math teacher of my class is a young man. His name is Jiang Shan. He is tall and fat. We call him the “Big Guy”. When he knows it, he isn’t angry and says it’s lovely. He is easy going and interesting. We can make jokes with him. But about our study, he is serious but patient. We can’t be sloppy on our study. When we have questions, we can ask him anytime. I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong

University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I

am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology

(NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During

the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among

the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I

got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission

test.

At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5%

in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is

given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer

Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the

ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university.

Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of

Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to

narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and

Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It

is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled

a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This

was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and

experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research

interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research

(especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid

system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

My plan of next year

A new year ，a new start，when I stand on the edge of a new year，I can#39;t help thinking about my plan of next year.

Just as the old saying："Well began is the half of the success."So I decide that I should be at work while the others are still relaxing ，and then ，at the beginning ，I#39;m quicker than the others and of course I will get better result than the others.

But ，what I really decide to do is that I must make good of anytime I can spare though it seems impossible. While，I will do my best to live up with what I have planned，and the result will prove it.

大家好!我叫孙健。我不但爱运动，还很好学，当然也有不少缺点。在班里我个子不算高，可是从不挨欺负，可是同学们老是给我起外号“孙子”，我听了只好当没听见。有时我真怨爸爸，世上有一百多个姓，为什么偏姓孙。可这又有什么办法呢这是天注定，也不能光怨爸爸。

我异常爱运动，比如打羽毛球、跑步(必须是短跑)、玩篮球、踢足球。记得小时候打羽毛球，我和爸爸一打就是两个多小时。妈妈怕我们累，就劝我说：“别打了，再打就累出病了。”我冲着妈妈扮了个鬼脸，调皮地说;“母亲大人，我和爸爸壮实的很，您老人家放心好了!”说完我们都哈哈大笑起来。

我也很好学。我感觉节假日里最欢乐最有意义的事就是逛书店了。只要一到书店，我就像来到了知识的海洋，如饥似渴地读着每本书。有时直到书店关门，我才恋恋不舍地回家。

让我再告诉你一个小秘密吧。可是，你可别笑话我。那是一个午时，刚下第一节课，我便和刘朋玩起了“警察抓小偷”的游戏。一开始，我扮小偷，他扮警察。我在前面跑的时候一不细心把教师放在讲桌上的挂图刮破了，我的心一下提到了嗓子眼，这下，可惨了!可是当刘朋抓我的时候又刮到了挂图，薄薄的挂图立时碎成几片飘到了地上。这时，同学们都看到了，全以为是刘朋弄坏的。我趁机幸灾乐祸地说：“老刘，你惨了。”他也要哭。正在这时上课的铃声响了，教师走了进来。教师看见挂图坏了便问是谁弄的，同学们都一口认定是刘朋。教师狠狠地批评了他一顿，又叫他罚站，我心里开始后悔了。虽然没有人明白弄坏挂图我也有份，但我为什么不敢勇于承认错误呢今日我最终把它说出来，就算我的又一次深刻反省吧!

时光一天天地流逝，如今的我，已经是一名五年级的学生了。但是小时候的事情仍然历历在目。以前因幼稚做出的趣事也经常引起我的遐想。
