每年十一月的最后一个星期四是美国的“感恩节”。它是美国最重要的节日之一，这一天全国放假。其实早在几天之前就能够感觉得到这种节日气氛，商场里，大街上人和车比往日多得多，大有点中国的春节的感觉。从某种意义上来讲，感恩节比圣诞节更有节日气氛，因为这是“全体美国人”的节日---每一个美国人都过，而圣诞节只是基督徒的节日。

早上七点半起床准备烤火鸡，火鸡是三天前买的

烤箱先预热(华氏450度)，同时准 备辅料

八点零五分正式把火鸡放入烤箱

吃早饭，观看电视直播的在纽约“第五大道”的“感恩节巡游”

大约四个小时后火鸡烤好出炉

十二点半吃上了准备了一个上午的“感恩节大餐”(有点类似中国的“年夜饭”，但味道和感觉远不如我们的一大桌子觉得舒服和实惠)

两点去当地教堂做义工---在美国有很多教堂在“感恩节”和“圣诞节”给一些无家可归者提供免费的午餐，通常登报招募提供志愿服务的帮手。

四点回到家读了一点“美国发展简史”;浏览“BLACK FRIEND”(“黑色星期五”，即“感恩节”的第二天)各商场打折信息，准备第二天的“血拼”

六点开始做地道中餐：面条+西红柿+鸡蛋+紫菜

七点半散步，看电视，上网看八卦

十点睡觉

总结：火鸡看上去好看，吃着不怎么样;做义工贡献别人，也愉悦自己;“感恩节巡游”很好看

今天是感恩节，我决定给妈妈洗一次脚。

一句句安慰与鼓励的话，一次次批评和责怪的体验全是父母的良苦用心啊！说到这句话就让我想起父母对我一点一滴的关心和爱护。记得有一次晚上，我发起了高烧，全身像火烧一样，肚子也疼的难受得不得了，在床上翻来覆去，又吐又泻。鼻血也不停地流了出来。我喊了爸爸妈妈，妈妈跑过来搂着我，爸爸先想办法给我止住了鼻血，然后又给我找药，倒上温开水喂我吃药，过了一阵，症状有所减轻，爸爸妈妈才松了一口气。爸爸妈妈守在我地身边哄着我渐渐入睡。第二天早晨，我醒了，睁开眼，只见妈妈还抱着我，爸爸靠在我身旁，我顿时感到暖暖的。

我的爸爸很“傻”，他会傻到在雨天不顾自己冒着滂沱大雨来学校接我回家；他会傻到在炎炎夏日不顾炎热为我做可口的饭菜；他会傻到在我学习遇到困难时，不厌其烦一遍又一遍的给我讲解解题方法，直到让我弄懂为止；他会傻到在我拿到第一笔稿费时，向我竖起大拇指和我一起欢呼；他会傻到花钱带我去旅游，让我缓解学习带来的压力，他会傻到站在窗前望着我上学……

我同样有一个“傻”妈妈，她在恩施工作。但是她每天给我打电话，让我早早地起床上学，让我自己洗衣服、洗澡；她总是在我成功时给我浇冷水，告诉我不要骄傲；她总是唠叨着叫我过马路要注意车子；她总是在电话里问我今天吃的什么，读了英语没有，做了阅读训练没有，她总是说人的一生要靠自己努力，别人帮不了你什么……母爱细腻、炽烈，父爱威严、深沉。

如果说母爱是浩瀚的海洋，那么父爱就是绵延的高山。总之，父母的爱是世间永恒不变的爱，是世间最无私的爱，是世间最纯净的爱。无论你是多么高贵或是多么卑微，父母的爱永远都是你停歇的港湾，他们的爱没有一点杂质，永远滋润着我们的心田。亲爱的朋友，让我们互相提醒，互相勉励，无论世事多么繁杂，无论情况如何变化，无论侵扰怎样严重，我们都始终以虔敬之爱心，仗义之双手，温暖之话语，灿烂之笑容，面对我们的父母，善待我们的双亲。进而，将这种美德坚持下去，延伸开来，爱邻人，爱同胞，爱民众，爱人类，让整个世界沉浸在爱的海洋之中。

亲爱的自己：

你好。

今天，我想思索一些关于感恩的话题。

当你来到这个世界上的时候，你就该学习着去感恩了。是的，你应该为你的存在而感恩。仔细的回想，从你出生到现在，你的亲人，朋友，老师，甚至是行行色色的你不熟悉的陌生人，都给予了你多少关爱?

你的出生就是一个奇迹。也许你并不清楚的了解母亲为了孩子要忍受多么大的痛苦，但是通过你的家人的一些零碎的描述以及你自己的想象，你应该可以感觉得到，母亲在病床上竭尽全力的承受着另一个生命从自己体内剥离的巨大痛苦，那是怎样的一种感觉。所以，在你过生日的时候，请不要过于喧嚣的表达你内心的快乐。因为这一天是你最亲爱的人的受难日。

在你幼年的时候，你的亲人们费尽心机的趴在地上，做出各种各样的鬼脸，拿着五彩斑斓的玩具，他们那么做，只是为了看到你幼小的脸上浮现出稚嫩但是开心的笑容。所以，在你遇到他们的时候，请给他们一个也许不怎么美丽但是足够真诚的笑脸和一句轻轻的问候。因为，就是他们给你了仅次于父母的关爱。

在你上学的时候，你的老师们很辛苦的教给你a、o、e还有1、2、3，然后每天工作到很晚只是为了在哪些作业本上的稚嫩的笔记后面写一句：“你真棒!”然后再画上一个大大的红红的苹果，这是最简单的知识和关爱，也是你生命中必不可少的知识和关爱。所以，在遇到你的小学甚至是幼儿园老师的时候，请不要躲闪，而是走上前去大声招呼一句：“老师好。”因为，就是在你年幼懵懂的时候，是这些老师让你懂得的不仅仅是知识，还有人生。

在你逐渐开始懂事的时候，你的周围有些人被你称作是“朋友”他们往往是一些和你一样不知天高地厚的狂妄的小孩。在你开心的时候你们可以聊的天昏地暗日月无光，在你难过的时候他们会给你安慰，给你向上的力量。所以，请在他们难过的时候也给他们以安慰，在他们开心的时候也和他们一起狂妄的不知天高地厚。因为，就是这些人一直陪伴着你，不曾改变。

在你成长的道路中，有许多人只是匆匆的路过你的生命。也许他们只是在你失意的时候默默的给你了安慰然后就转身离开，但是这些细小的温暖汇聚起来却足以照亮你当时灰暗的生命。所以，请铭记这些人。在今后的某一天，也许你们还会见面，这时候请真心的感谢他们。因为，就是他们曾经努力的用自身全部的光芒来照亮你荒芜的内心。

感恩，因为有你。因为你的存在，所以才会有这么多的人在你的生命中留下温暖的痕迹，所以才会有这么多值得你去铭记，去感恩的人和事。

感恩不是一个抽象的名词，它是由一点一滴细微温暖却也坚定不移的行动而组成的。给别人以温暖吧，就像当初他们给你温暖时一样，一样坚定，一样充满着爱。

所以，请感恩吧。因为你的存在。

Be grateful for friends

It is a celebrating day. I got in touch with Michael whom I have been losing contact for one year.

It is really magic. I was searching online aimlessly yesterday when an idea struck me suddenly: since Ben can find out my secret by keying in my name in the search engines, why cant I do so, either?

I intended to find out something about Ben in revenge in the first place, but soon extend my name list to a wider category. It was then that I recalled Michael suddenly.

We have lost contact since our last correspondence in my senior 3. He mentioned to me in his last letter that he was preparing for going to UK to further his education. I, shamefully, was too busy to reply his mail then. When I was recommended to ZJU and won the final freedom, I thought he had already been in UK so I had no idea where to write him.

I used to think that we would never meet again. However, when I browsed the entries about him, I found out excitedly that he is still in P.R.C.!!

Without a moment hesitation, I ran upstairs to my dorm and found out my old address book. Thank goodness, his home no was still there.

After 3 times calling with no answer replies, I eventually got him on the phone. He was more surprised than I could imagine that when I asked for his hp no he was too nervous to remember it.

Life is enjoyable in moments such like this. Old friends meet again surprisingly, on a road of their own ways to their dreams. They look at the face of each other, and recognize the old pal. It is such moment that makes me feel grateful to life: whenever I set off for a new destination, I see I have friends in the same direction, with whom I wont feel alone any more.
