The World Environment Day theme selected for 2004 is Wanted! Seas and Oceans - Dead or Alive? The theme asks that we make a choice as to how we want to treat the Earths seas and oceans. And we should find the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way, our earth could be a better place to live in.

政府应该施行一些更为严格的法律来防止环境被进一步的破坏掉。他们应该让人们了解到保护环境的重要性。我们要在保持经济发展和环境保护中找到平衡点。在沙漠中植树造林，停止砍伐森林。禁止工厂往河流里直接排放废水。鼓励人们用交通工具上班。政府和普通民众都应该携手保护环境，让我们的家园变得干净整洁。只有这样，我们的地球才能更适合人类居住。

云南拥有大片的原始森林，风景名胜众多，地理环境独特，自古以来就是一个山清水秀，气候宜人的好地方，可是为了种植这种桉树，大量砍伐原始森林，想象这些经过几十年甚至数百年才形成的树木，仅仅是为了去满足最快速度的造纸而被破坏，真是让人可惜，并且痛心。

据说旱灾的另一个原因，就是所有的大江小河都修起了水电站。对这一点我有自己的感受，早两年湘江的水面多么宽广，可是上游修了一个水电站后，下游的水明显减少，甚至连河床都经常露出来，同时影响到了城市自来水的引水工程，我都有这些感受，那些江河里小鱼虾们感受就应该更深了。

前些天报纸上又爆出地沟油事件，报纸上说地沟油是别人吃完的饭菜倒进垃圾桶后，一些黑心商人把这些进行简单的提炼加工后，不但闻不出异味，加入香精后吃起来还挺香，但是对人体危害很大，我现在都不敢随便在外面吃东西了。

环境污染的问题日益严重，影响到了我们生活的方方面面，对此我感到非常的忧虑。
