富兰克林提倡个人修身养性否认13种品德：

1、节制：食不过饱，酒不过量。

2、缄默：避免空谈，言必对己或对人有益。

3、有序：你的一切应井然有序，一时一事都要有周全计划。

4、决心：当做必做，做就要做好。

5、节俭：对人或对己有益才可花钱，绝不浪费。

6、勤奋：珍惜光阴，做有益之事，避无谓之举。

7、真诚：不欺骗，有良知，为人厚道，说话实在。

8、正义：不做不利于人的事，不逃避自己的义务。

9、中庸：避免走极端，容忍别人给你的伤害，认为是你应该承受之事。

10、整洁：保持身体、衣服和住所的整洁。

11、冷静：不因小事、寻常之事、不可避免之事而慌乱。

12、节欲：少行房事，除非考虑到身体健康或者延续子嗣；不要房事过度，伤害身体或者损害自己或他人的安宁与名誉。

13、谦逊：效法耶稣和苏格拉底。

以上13种品德，我有许多的不足，我不希望自己成为伟大的圣人，但不希望自己成为自己讨厌的人。

富兰克林说：“不要说一切直接与别人的意见相左的和一切过分自信的话。”这一点我的缺点非常明显，从此以后不直接提出与被人相左的意见，但仍要真诚、间接的表达自己观点，这种谈话的艺术其实更需要自己的内心成熟。

The Lunar New Year  a great occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year， during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school， and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs， sheep， cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fh and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.
