I love this city. She is where I have lived for ____ years with my parents, my good friends, and my teachers who have supported me. She has almost all my memories.

I love the night of ##. People sit in the gardens of their houses or in the small restaurants, chatting, drinking and enjoying the delicious seafood which is abundant in our city.

I love the sunrise of ##. When I was still a little girl, my parents and I used to climb up the hill in the morning to see the sunrise. When the beautiful sun went up, the gentle breeze brought us the fragrance of the flowers, the golden sunshine made our hair shimmer, and my heart would be filled with hope and happiness!

Maybe someday I will have to leave this city, but no matter where I would go I will never forget this city, its people, its trees and its sunrise. Yes, everything that it gave me could be given by other places, but my love won’t be changed, because it is my home town.

不但是我出生的城市，也是我无法离开的唯一地方，我的家乡。5年以前，我离开这里到另外一个城市开始我的大学生活。离开##的那天，我感觉自己像是一条离开了水的鱼儿。

当我走过一座校园，想象我未来的儿子或女儿能在这里玩耍。##，就是唯一一个让我有这种想法的地方。

[大学英语作文：我的家乡

俗话说：”百里不同风，千里不同俗。”我的家乡在潮州，那里有着自己独特的风俗，春节更为热闹。 除夕前一两天，大人们忙得手忙脚乱，买鸡呀，买鱼呀，买鸭呀……家家户户必须大扫除一次，把屋和被都清洗干净，到处弥漫着浓浓的年味。

除夕夜家家热热闹闹。主户们准备着一年中最丰富，最有意义的团圆饭。煮好饭后，大大小小必须”祭祖宗”，然后用焚香祷祝。最后，长幼依序跪拜，这充分能体现出家乡人百善孝为先的传统美德。最快乐的时候，莫过于放鞭炮。一整夜，鞭炮声连绵不绝。烟花”嘭”一声，响彻云宵，开出了五颜六色的花朵。人人脸上扬溢着幸福的微笑。有一首诗这么写：”除夕更阑人不睡，厌禳钝滞迫新年。”所以，人人都不睡觉，都要守岁，都盼望着新的一年的到来。

正月初一没有除夕那么喜气洋洋。潮州人在正月初一不能讲脏话，不能哭，不能打架……这一天还不能扫地，应把扫帚藏起来，让垃圾积下，说是堆金积玉。到了晚上，长辈要给小辈钱，而且都是用一块红纸包着，这称为”压肚腰：意味一年都富富裕裕。然后，大家都穿得漂漂亮亮，后辈先祝福长辈，长辈再给小辈期望。 潮汕俗谚说：“有心拜年初一、二，无心拜年初三、四。”所以，人们都争先恐后地向亲戚朋友送去最美好的祝福。

到了初二，三，嫁出去的女儿们纷纷回娘家拜年。女儿回家，通常都是大包小包一提，什么饼干呀，什么糖果呀，什么瓜子呀……虽然礼物都颇薄，但礼轻情义重，表达了对家乡的切切思念。

元宵节是春节的尾声，可仍和除夕夜有得一比。正月十五闹花灯，大街小巷，处处张灯结彩，一个个精致的小灯，照亮了大街的每个角落。几百个灯，各有各色，各有各图案，各有各形势，让人仿佛进入了一个五彩缤纷的世界。

每当“爆竹一声除旧岁”时人们就开始了舞狮，舞狮由两人合扮一头大狮子，一人扮小狮子，另一个扮武士，狮子忽而翘首仰视，忽而回头低顾，忽而摇头摆舞，千姿百态， 妙趣横生。

一眨眼，春节悄悄地过去了，大人和孩子们在这喜庆而热闹的节日里又迎来新的一年，这就是我们家乡的春节，在这里，祝福家乡越来越红火，祝福祖国更加繁荣昌盛！

My hometown has changed a lot.In the past the streets were dirty but they are quite clean now.And todays hometown is rather different from that of the past

for example,the traffic was terrible in the past,but its safe now.In a word,with the lead of the CPC.my hometown has been becoming more and more beautiful!

There have been a lot of ways of acquiring knowledge. And the number is

increasing unexpectedly owing to the popularization of modern mass media.

However, reading books has always been the major and convenient approach to

knowledge. One may acquire most of his knowledge through reading books, since

they can be carried easily and read leisurely everywhere at any time. Another

equally important means of acquiring knowledge is through practice, especially

learning from others. It is unlikely for a person to get all-round knowledge by

merely reading books. As a matter of fact, genuine knowledge comes from

practice.

Although books and practice are indispensable to the enrichment of one’s

knowledge, other means shouldn’t be turned aside. With the development of IT

industry, people tend to hunt for knowledge by means of Internet. Internet is

changing people’s traditional approaches to knowledge. It has found its way into

every field of the world.

As the economy is developing so rapidly, people’s attitude towards life is changing at the same time. Credit cards are becoming more and more popular. but what advantages and disadvantages do they have?

Firstly, it is quite convenient ant safe for us to use a credit card. Cash-stolen does not exist in this way. People now take a card instead of a heavy purse wherever they go. Secondly, credit cards represent great honour. People using credit cards shows his special identity and draw others attention.

On the other hand, credit cards are not always that good. Credit cards can lead to overspending somehow. People pay more than they have and then get busy paying off. Furthermore the credit card cheating happens more often.

In my opinion, credit cards do good in our life. But we should use them carefully. Only when used credit cards properly can make contribution to a more convenient and safer life.

In my opinion, the schoolwork now being assigned to high school students is

too heavy. While it is true that students need to study, they need other things

as well if they are to grow into healthy and well-rounded adults. High should be

allowed more time for play. Plying is not wasting time, as some think. It gives

them physical exercise, and also exercise their imagination. Which tends to be

stifled by too much study. Finally, the pressure put on high school students by

excessive schoolwork can cause serious stress, which is unhealthy physically and

mentally. I do not advocate the elimination of schoolwork. I do think, however,

that a reduction of the current heavy load would be beneficial to students and

to the society as a whole.
