My Home Town

My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

I can always hear the news of education innovation after I go to school,

and many teachers are talking about the importance of extra-curricular activity,

Great Changes in My Hometown I used to live in a small town with trees all around. There was no tall building and the only street was narrow. Just outside the town， there was a river. Christmas is the most important festival in the western world. It falls on

December 25th. When my mother and I stayed in America, we were invited by one of

my mothers friends to have Christmas with an American family. We bought some

presents for our American friends on our way to their house.They had prepared

such as Christmas candles, cakes, cards, little toys, biscuits and so on. A

I’m a dog lover, because dogs are tame, friendly and easy to communicate

with. I have kept one in my house, whose name is Chocolate. She is covered with

brown curly hair and looks like a Teddy Bear. Now we have been living together

During the winter holiday, I was very happy because of the Chinese new year

and other reasons. During the holiday, my parents and I went back to my hometown

in the countryside in Hebei Province. I had not come back for several years, so

that I was so surprised to find that great changes had taken place in this small

village in the past years. Almost every family in the village had color TV set

and some of them had computers. Many families had their houses newly built or

rebuilt. Previously,could be seen everywhere, but now they have taken on an

entirely newlook. Motorcycles or even private cars are not luxuries any

more.

One of the villagers proudly told me that he and some other villagers were

going to join a tour and travel abroad. Previously, the villagers were busy in

their farm work all the year round, but now they have much more time and money

to relax or entertain. Traveling has become a new trend among villagers. Seeing

these amazing changes, my father said that he would go back to my hometown as

soon as he retired. As for me, I strongly supported his idea.

When I was in high school, one of my classmates sit right beside me. His

name is ChenLiang. He is my unforgettable person in my life.

I remembered my mathematics was just mediocre at that time, but he was

extraordinary and excellent in calculating and solving mathematic questions. He

often received perfect scores. Of course, I wished I could reach at his level.

Since we talked all day long, I asked how he could solve those difficult

questions. He was so patient and polite to answer my sometimes ridiculous

thinking. Gradually, I built my confidence at mathematics and finally passed the

college entrance exam.

Now, we are apart, but I still remember his great attitude and willing in

study. I am so obliged to my classmate, who is my friend always and forever.

With the development of technology, today we live in the world with high

technology. People seem to cant live without computer and smart phone, once

they dont have smart phone at hand for a while, the seem to be lost and feel

something miss in their life. When I talk to my friends at table, I find them

always play smart phones or check on the text all the time. Though we sit face

to face, the distance between us is so far. The high technology brings isolation

between people. Some people dont often visit their parents and friends, for

they believe that a call can solve all the things. Communication in face to face

My hometown in dinghai, is an ancient city. It is surrounded on three sides by mountains and faces the matsu islands in the east, is a famous lienchiang harbour. Have "city center" of the name, and beautiful scenery. Today, let me take you to go and have a look.

再来看看新村，是我们定海扩建的村子。这可比旧城好多了，新楼林立，宾馆酒店随处可见，各种店铺到处都是，摆小摊做生意的也是星罗密布，真是热闹非凡!

走进那城墙上刻着“会城重镇”的城门，我们来到了定海旧城。这儿一个通道，那儿一个巷口，就把旧城串的四通八达。我和表弟经常在里面钻来钻去，嘻嘻，好像很适合玩躲猫猫的游戏。这里的路和房子都是用石头砌成的，充满了古色古香。我最喜欢的，就是清晨时的定海古城。清晨，雾从山谷里升起，穿插在山间的定海古城白茫茫一片，雾把旧城封得严严实实的。就在这时，太阳升起来了，千万缕像利剑一样的金光穿过树梢，照射在各个巷口的石板路上。知了叫了，鸟儿停在树梢上唱起歌来，宁静的定海顿时又热闹起来。

这就是我的故乡，那连江著名的港湾—定海。

Seasons have colors. What are the four seasons colors like?

Spring is green. When spring comes, trees begin to bud and grass begin to

grow. It is really a green world, and it is also the color of hope.What about

summer? When I look at flowers of almost all kinds in blossom, I know that the

color of summer is red.Compared with summer, autumn is totally different color,

especially in the north of our country. The rice in the fields and fruits on the

branches are the signals of autumn. It is the color filled with ripeness. Gold

is the symbol of harvest.Winter is the world of snow. Therefore, white is the

color of winter.

Seasons have colors and the changing of the four seasons makes the land

colorful and energetic.

In China, there is a saying that the children who live in the countryside areEarly-maturing, it is not about the physiology, it is about the mentality. The reason for the children being premature is various. Some children live in an unhappy family, such their parents get divorced or their parents don’t get along with each other. Living in such a family, the children will not grow up in a normal way, they will have sad feelings and become to know more about the unlucky things. Some children who live in the country need to take more responsibility, because their parents work in the big cities, so the children have to take care of themselves and also learn to do the house work. It is not good for the children to be early-maturing, they should grow up step by step, the parents need to give more care on the kids.

在中国，有一句话，农村的孩子早当家，这不是说生理上的，而是说心里上的。造成孩子早熟的原因有很多。一些孩子生活在不幸福的家庭，比如他们的父母离婚或者他们的父母相处不好。生活在这样的家庭，孩子不会正常的长大，他们会感到悲伤，了解更多不幸的事情。一些住在农村的孩子需要承担更多的责任，因为他们的父母在大城市打工，所以孩子需要照顾自己，也要学着去做家务。孩子早熟是不好的，他们应该一步一步地成长，家长需要给予孩子更多的关爱。
