One time hospital hold a party to collect contributions. Then at the party ,she met Rhett buther, the man who loves her at first sight. Another girl that I loved in this book is Melanie,she was very kind and gentle. She never doubted the relationship between Scarlett and Ashley, she always standed in the side of Scarlett. Melanie loved her husband ,when her husband was fighting in the war, she always waited for him. She didn’t have the strength to give birth, but she still wanted to have a baby for Ashley, finally, she died.

These three main characters in the book are all very obvious, but different. They gave me a impression. Scarlett was a plain girl, but what she did was not plain. She didn’t stay silent during the war, she changed her own life by strugling. In fact, many people lost what they have like Scarlett,but they all gave up to strive for the happiness that essentially belonged to them. Scarlett have the braveness to change the situation. But the pity was that she didn’t recognize the real love belong her in time. If she could got deep understanding of Ashley, she may not love him. My favorite book is wrote by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. I still remember the first time I read the book, I was like in a fantastic world. The little prince is a boy who has an angelical heart, his life is also very simple-a small planet which is full of flowers and monkey bread tree seedlings. From that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose. I cried about the prince’s death. But I’m not sad. His life is so childish ,pure, and also sincere. And he must get his happy ending being with his rose finally. The plot is easy, but the deep meaning of the story is worth thinking . we have grown up as an adult, then we are gradually surrounded by meaningless figures and money. We live in a complex society , every day we must be faced with all kinds of person ,which made our heart more and more cold and detached. For me, society is a monster which could kill the pureness inside of my mind. I’m so grateful for reading this story. And from then on, I have a little prince live in my heart, and when I felt tired to face the society, he appeared and took me back to the clean and honest world that I’ve ever stayed in childhood. Then, I found out everything seemed so simple and life was so beautiful.

I read the book then watched the movie, both of them ga一ve me great shock, I really admire Meggie,she had the courage to use her whole life to love Ralph, never ga一ve up. She believed that she would love Ralph only in her life. But I don’t like Meggie’s attitude to love, Ralph is a Father, and he mustn’t love Meggie, they really loved each other, but they are not destined to be together. So in my opinion I think Meggie should give in, she shouldn’t fight with God, Ralph had told her he would serve God forever, so Meggie wouldn’t win. Maybe giving up is a good choice. Their love is painful.

Frank and Meggie would always tell each other what they thought in their deep heart , and they are close friends.

I was so sad when I learned that Frank killed a man and he was sent to the prision. It is really a big shock to Meggie, for Frank was the only one who can listen to Meggie’s secrets. She thought she lost Frank forever. I cannot imagine how painful for Frank to spend dozens years in the prision. He once had good dream about his life, but he had to waste most of his life in prision. In my opinion it was Frank’s father that distoryed his life. His father didn’ t give him freedom, and Frank can’t had strong resistance spirits, and because he didn’t control himself and broke the law.The energitic Frank will never come to us, and he became a man who didn’t wanna talk. As for Meggie, I think she was a good girl. She was beautiful and smart, but she it was wrong for her to love Ralph. Meggie was an excellent girl, she was able to find an outstanding boy to love her, but she put all her love on Ralph even she married Luke. She married Luke just because Luke looked like Ralph. Meggie wanna be a thorn bird, but I think it was too cruel to her. She was so kind that she shouldn’t stand that king of pain, and I think she was born to ha一ve a happy life. I pity for her.

Before I read this book, I had watched a cartoon movie made by Japan. So I have a strong interest on it.

It all begins in the dead of winter; The Christmas Season. The coldest one of all, were the war has made fuel for heating very scarce. While her husband is off at war, Marmee is left alone to raise their four daughters: Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy.

On Christmas Eve, Marmee has just arrived home from passing out food to the less fortunate with a letter from her husband, the girls father. The all gather together around the fire to read the letter. Afterwards, the girls are teary eyed. Marmee kisses them and they are off to bed.

Jo is longing to become a writer. So, every night she stays up late writing the script for soap operas. As morning comes she is the last one awake. The table is set, and food prepared for their Christmas feast.

As dusk falls, the girls are all up in the attic acting out Jos play, which she reads from the local (fake) newspaper. As they are performing, their rich, next-door neighbors grandson watches from the window.

This is a powerful yet charming movie; fun for its special effects and profound in how it keeps you thinking long after it"s over. Like others, I"ve seen this movie more than once. One comment I"ve never heard is that Forrest"s simplicity is almost zen-like. I should read the novel to get the author"s intention （I remember some people preferring the book and complaining that no one at the Academy Awards gave him any credit.） But rather than an implication that you should do what you"re supposed to do and believe in God and you"ll win in the end, I see it as zen-like, i.e., living in the moment and not having expectations or particular cravings （other than his loving Jenny.） (www.veryok.net)So he ends up just stumbling into all the major historical events of the time. Granted, he achieves this only because he doesn"t have the brains to think otherwise and actually have expectations, but so many of our problems are because we do have higher intellect and desires, which ironically makes us unhappy because we know what we are missing. We love our cats and dogs for the same simplicity and always being in the moment. There"s a line in the movie wondering if everything is predestined or happens randomly or it"s a combination of both. It is something to mull over for a long time.

我看过一本书——《雾都孤儿》。它讲述了孤儿奥利弗·特威斯特出生在一家济贫院里，并在那里孤独、艰难的生活了九年之久，之后又被带到棺材店做学徒，因身边的人几乎都极为不好，而且被人误解，便独自一人到伦敦去。途中他又被小偷所骗，越进了他同父异母的哥哥与小偷事先安排好的完美陷阱了。但是，小奥利弗是勇敢、正义、向往美好生活的孩子。他为自己的美好未来所作出了巨大的努力，逃离小偷的魔爪。最后，他遇上了好心的人，他们帮助他主持公道，拿回了属于他的财产，寻找到了幸福的生活。

奥利弗的生世如此曲折，可是他依旧坚强的生活，重来没有轻生的念头。那怕生活在水生火热中可世间却有许多有轻生念头的人。

最近，我在电脑上看见一则新闻：韩国女星因比赛遗憾失败而跳楼自杀。有人爆料，她曾经患过抑郁症。有些人一辈子都没活够，而有些人却认为世界上没有什么好留念的，起了轻生的念头，甚至去做了。每个人的生命都是父母给予我们的，我们没有权利选择出生，但生命只有一次，一个人不会有第二次生命，所以我们才应该倍加珍惜。像奥利弗那样，我们虽然没有权选择出生，但我们可以选择今后的路程。

The deep impression that the movie give me is that he just keep running all the time。 Mr。 A Gan， it seems， has run into the university， the White House and even the whole continent。 Sometimes I wonder if we all misunderstand the true meaning of smart and clever， for Mr。 A Gan has taught us a very different lesson。 From my point of view， kindness and simplicity is the cleverest wealth that God has given us。

But of the human beings， unpredictable Nature selected only Mr。 A Gan， one wonders also why Nature， with Mr。 A Gan， made it possible that people who was treated as a fool can surely make a difference。 Mr。 A Gan’s success is no accident。 There is no doubt that ordinary people like you and me can live a rich life by perseverance!

No one would like to talk to him for his extremely bad luck except a boy who always came to help after the day and finally left to another boat under the pressure of his parents. Ignoring the contempt from the younger fishermen and sympathy from the older, on the morning of the 85th day, the old man started his fishing with determination and rowed his old boat very far in the sea where he believed there would be big fish. Fortunately the old man met with a big fish as he had wished and finally defeated the big Marlin with two days and nights struggle after overcoming great difficulties. But more unfortunately there were many sharks coming after his boat attracted by the smell of the blood of the big Marlin. After death-and-life struggle, when he finally got rid of the sharks coming after the boat, the big Marlin was bare skeleton.

The Old Man and the Sea tells a frustrated experience of the old man who fishes alone in the sea in plain languages. Through the simple lines, a “tough guy” image is shaped and heroism is praised. The whole story starts with a peaceful beginning which is some trivial of life and talking with the boy, and suddenly turns to its climax which is the dangerous fighting with the big fish and sharks alone in the sea, and ends with the old man’s return with the bare skeleton of the big Marlin. Though the boy only appears at the beginning and the ending in the novel, he plays an indispensible role, it is his inspiring and supporting that helps the old man to be “graceful under heavy pressure”.

In the book, the old man prepared his fishing properly and preciously than any other fishermen so that “Then when luck comes you are ready” as the old man thought to himself. In reality, some of us keep complaining that they are born in wrong time or good luck never knocks their doors. In fact, good luck sometimes just comes when they are not ready. Taking Newton for example, if he had not acquired a lot, millions of apples could never make him discovery the gravity. So if we just keep studying as much as we can, good luck will finally find us and a bright future is ahead of us. The old man never gives up hope. When all of people think he is doomed, he still strongly believes that he will get a big fish. And he does. So never giving up hope is very important to us. This reminded me of the sentence in Churchill’s speech “Never give up, never, never, never…”. “But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated” has always been inspiring me when I counter with some setbacks in my life. Setbacks are inevitable in pursuit of our goals, but we should never be frustrated and should be “graceful under heavy pressure” like the old man. It is his relentless pursuit that contributes to the victory.

其中，让我最感动的不是好心的老绅士——布朗罗先生，也不是救助他脱离生命危险的也是他的亲姨妈露丝小姐一家以及一些好心的人，而是没有多次重点描写的少女扒手南希。真的很喜欢这个人，她虽然也是小偷，但或许是奥利弗悲惨的遭遇触动了她内心中的一丝善意。她不顾背叛所爱的人——赛克斯，也不顾自己冒着被抓，被处以绞刑的生命危险，为小奥利弗求情，帮助他向露丝小姐求救，但是不公平的是最后这位令人敬佩的人却惨死于赛克斯的棍棒之下。

在这本书中，奥利弗、南希、露丝小姐都是善良的代表，他们都出生于苦难中，在黑暗和罪恶的世界中成长，但在他们的心中始终保存着一片善良的，美丽的天地和一颗向往美好的心，种.种磨难并不能使他们丧失善心，却一次又一次的磨砺他们。最后，邪不胜正，正义的力量战胜了邪恶，虽然南希最后遇难，但正是她的死所召唤出来的惊天动地的社会正义力量，注定了邪恶势力的代表——费根团伙的失败。因此在小说中，南希的精神得到了升华。可喜的是，恶人的代表——费根、蒙克斯、邦布尔、塞克斯无不一一落得个悲惨的下场。

值得我学习的还有小奥利弗勇往直前、不惧艰险的精神了。我觉得他年纪虽小，但是比起些苟且偷安的犯罪团伙却煞是令人佩服。他很爱自己的母亲，为了母亲，可以不顾危险以身与邪恶的棺材店学徒诺亚拼搏，只为让他承认他的母亲是好人……一个个鲜明的例子证实了，这个孩子努力改变自己的生活，向往正义，最终，他确实得到了温暖的关怀。

读着整本书，感受着小奥利弗艰辛的童年。我越发觉得当时社会的黑暗，不禁怜惜起了现在的生活。

将视线停留在绵绵细雨中，或感些悲哀。小奥利弗得到了幸福是值得欣慰的，但是更多生活在邪恶的济贫院里的其他孩子呢，他们没有父母的关爱，日日忍受非人的待遇，若不奋力反抗又有谁能帮助他们呢?

希望终究是掌握在自己手中的，我们或许会遇到善良的人们给我们机会重见光明，但是在遇到之前，是不是该动手组建自己的梦想呢，为更美好的未来做准备呢?是的，把握现在，就是创造未来!

To Regain the Nature of Goodness

—— Review of ‘Oliver Twist

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I dont think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on peoples honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.

That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those vermin-to-be to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness.
