都是因为前进化工厂的大黑烟囱整天的冒黑烟，排水管 里往外排放五颜六色的废水。原来碧绿的小柳树，现在都成了 豆芽菜似的黄柳树，明亮的小河也被染成了一块斑驳的破抹 布，情况不仅如此。毎当工厂向外排废气时，我们不得不停止 上课，赶快关紧窗户，尽管门窗关得很紧，可还是呛得人受不了。更令人受不了的是自来水苦涩难咽。自来水厂的领导说 都是因为化工厂排放的废水污染了地下水资源，他们无能为力。

我校多次找化工厂领导，要求妥善解决此事，可化工厂领 导却借口说生产任务繁重，技术力量薄弱以及经费开支太大， 迟迟不解决此亊。

国务院曾三令五申，注意保护环境，提倡环境美，可化工厂为什么就置之不理呢?国家化工部也曾明文规定.建设化工厂要注意环境保护，既要注意经济效益，又要注意环境效益. 化工厂的领导为什么就不采取措施保护环境呢?

我们进行生产是为了造福人民，而不是给人民带来祸害，化工厂领导根本就没有认识到这-点，只抓生产不管环境，给 我们以及附近的居民带来了危害。

现在，我门恳请编辑同志,让我们占报刊一角，向社会发 出我们的呼吁：大家都来保护环境，使我们的生活更美好。使大家都成为环境的保护者，一致向那些破坏环境的工厂发出呼吁：注意保护环境。也恳请前进化工厂的领导.迅速把我们 和附近居民从被污染的环境中解脱出来。

My Views on Environmetal Protection

Nowadays, the world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. Each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the exhausts of motor vehicles. Smoke from factories pollutes the air of industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside. Recently,haze weather has become a usual phenomenon here in large part of China. People are forced to wear the mask to avoid breathing poisonous air. Some people think it is impossible to solve the problem,however,from my opinion,if we find out the reason and take effective measures the environment can be better.

If we trace the cause for haze weather,the main points are as follows,first,our countrys air quality standards are rather lax and evaluation factors are limited,so you will see that current air appraisal system has defects. Second,some people just go for economic interests instead of turning out products according to relevant law and regulations. They tend to use obsolete equipment in which they are more likely to emit a great deal of wasted air. Third,across our society,the awareness of protecting the environment has not built up so that people havent formed a habit of using green product and saving energy as much as possible. If we dont take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.

Therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws passed to conserve the environment. In my opinion, to protect the environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, people should be educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve our natural resources and recycle our products. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the policy of population into practice, because more people mean more pollution. Finally,laws concerning environmental protection should be put into effect and enforce strictly just as our government has been doing. To sum up,if we work together to take out such measures,our environment will get better and better and haze weather will vanish completely.

Some fish are forced to leave polluted water and are flying in the sky. But unfortunately, air is also so polluted that they have to wear masks. Each of them is crying, “Where is my home?” What a terrible sight!

Mankind has brought so much pollution. Waste is being poured into rivers and seas. Poisons to kill pests in farming and chemicals go into rivers and seas, too. Therefore, we should realize the importance of taking care of our forests. We should do our best to protect our living environment and keep our mountains green,the water clean, and the sky blue.

在我国的一些地区，由于需要木材和得到更多的耕地，许多人一直在砍伐森林中的树木，森林面积正变得越来越小。一些科学家预言二三十年后将不会再有大片的森林，这真的是一件可怕的事情。森林在哪里消失，沙尘暴就在哪里发生，天气会变得炎热而干燥，整个地球会变成一个大沙漠，大量的动植物会消失，没有地方再长庄稼，生活会变得很艰难，人类因为破坏森林的活动将受到惩罚。

Today I am very glad here to share my opinionsabout the protection of environment.

With the development ofscience and technology ,different kinds of pollution has been produced andcaused global concern recently.

As we know, people have beenliving on the earth for thousands of years, human activity damaged natural environment, such as excessive abuse of natural resources ,the sewage dischargedfrom factories ,the animal slaughter ,kinds of chemical fertilizers andgreen-house effect. In my opinion, the first and important thing is tounite all forces ,that is to say---gather all hearts together. Next we shouldprotect and plant more trees, which can dispose of the dust in the air. As forfamilies, it is effective to ride bicycles rather than drive cars. Don’t litteranywhere as you like. In addition, sorting and recycling the rubbish also playan essential role in the protection of our earth. We’d better call on everyone aroundus to lead a low-carbon life, as it may make a difference to the environment.

保护环境，这个既简单有困难的话语，实现它只有靠自己，最近在《我爱祖国的蓝天》一书中，我看到了这样一句话：“因为人类没有环保意识，致使大气污染越来越严重，水资源危机日趋加深，土壤流失正逐渐加重，森林正一天天减少，许多动植物濒临灭绝，城市正越来越不适合人类居住……”

所以保护环境，是使每个有道德的人所必须做的事，因为这个大环境是人类生存的宝贵的地方。人不仅来自于自然，也受之与自然。自然环境使人们赖以生存和发展的必要物质条件。当今世界，环境污染，生态平衡现象日趋严重。现在，全球森林正以每460万公顷的速度减少;地球上供优2亿人的生活在缺水区。我国近几年来，由于人们的环境意识薄弱，生态破坏严重，环境问题更为严峻。

1998年长江，嫩江，松花江流域的大洪灾以及近几年北京愈来愈重的风沙。特别是今年4月上旬，中旬的沙尘暴涉及的面积之广，风力之大，尘土之浓，持续时间之长，更是历史上罕见的。这一系列的自然灾害已向国人重锤击响保护环境的警钟。人类只有一个地球，自毁地球无异于毁灭自己生存的家园。树立环保意识已成为全世界各人民的共同要求。爱山爱水爱林爱鸟爱人类，护天护地护花护草护环境。
