Dear Mum,

Hello!

After school at noon today, I quarreled with you on my way home. Why do you

suppose I quarrelled with you? Thats because you said a sentence that makes me

very angry, which is: "Mr. Lin sent text messages to criticize you today."

Because you said a lie, let me very angry, it is because of your words, I give

nasty! Usually you say me, I have no complaint. But todays you why want to give

me so big fire! Are you scolding me, scolding me, or beating me because your

shop is not doing well? Or because you read the text message of my

misunderstanding. I know you dont mean it, but just speak to me when you have

something to say, and dont be so cross when you talk to me. I think you do not

understand the meaning of the teacher said, I now come to tell you what the

teachers words mean! In fact, the teachers meaning is very simple: the teacher

told us in the morning: "Yesterday only Wei Yujie revised all the diary, while

others only modified a part, did not completely correct." The words "one person"

in the teachers text message refer to Wei Yujie, and "others" refer to everyone

in our class (except Wei). In this way, it is easy to understand: everyone in

the class (except Wei Yujie) must finish revising all the diaries this

weekend.

But it was also my fault, because I did not explain myself clearly to you,

and it was your misunderstanding of me. So here I want to say to you: "Mom,

Sorry!"

I wish you:

Someone said, "if a man has a certain goal and keeps working hard for it, he will succeed."Is that true?

Once upon a time a fisherman made a vow before each fish. What is the highest price on the market is ready to catch, but not to want. The result had to go away empty-handed and finally died in the cold. The fisherman is not without goals, but is unrealistic. So the goal of life is to choose.

If the Louvre catches fire, which picture do you save? Many people want to save the Mona Lisa, the famous writer Bernard

The answer is: "I saved the painting that was closest to the exit."His reasoning: "the best goal of success is not the most valuable one, but the most likely one."This little story tells us that choosing goals must be the most likely.Because when you pursue the most valuable target -- the Mona Lisa, its very likely that no one will be rescued, and youll be buried in flames. We can only choose the most likely goal, which is to cut the right target.

My goal in life was to be the best parent of my parents, and to be the best student at school, I would be the most outstanding person in society.Such a goal makes me very tired, no matter how hard I try, I cant be the best.So I reestablished my goal, to be filial children, to be one of the outstanding students. The goal is realistic, and Im getting closer to that goal.I am confident that I will achieve this goal, so I am happy every day.It will come to society and my goal is to be a peoples policeman.Because I believe that I will be able to protect the peoples property. When I think of my goals, I cant help but be angry and have a special spirit.

In 1882 a baby girl caught a fever that was so fierce she nearly died. She survived but the fever left its mark she could no longer see or hear. Because she could not hear she also found it very difficult to speak.

So how did this child, blinded and deafened at 19 months old, grow up to become a world-famous author and public speaker?

The fever cut her off from the outside world, depriving her of sight and sound. It was as if she had been thrown into a dark prison cell from which there could be no release.

Luckily Helen was not someone who gave up easily. Soon she began to explore the world by using her other senses. She followed her mother wherever she went, hanging onto her skirts, She touched and smelled everything she came across. She copied their actions and was soon able to do certain jobs herself, like milking the cows or kneading dough, She even learnt to recognize people by feeling their faces or their clothes. She could also tell where she was in the garden by the smell of the different plants and the feel of the ground under her feet.

By the age of seven she had invented over 60 different signs by which she could talk to her family, If she wanted bread for example, she would pretend to cut a loaf and butter the slices. If she wanted ice cream she wrapped her arms around herself and pretended to shiver.

Helen was unusual in that she was extremely intelligent and also remarkably sensitive. By her own efforts she had managed to make some sense of an alien and confusing world. But even so she had limitations.

At the age of five Helen began to realize she was different from other people. She noticed that her family did not use signs like she did but talked with their mouths. Sometimes she stood between two people and touched their lips. She could not understand what they said and she could not make any meaningful sounds herself. She wanted to talk but no matter how she tried she could not make herself understood. This make her so angry that she used to hurl herself around the room, kicking and screaming in frustration.

As she got older her frustration grew and her rages became worse and worse. She became wild and unruly . If she didnt get what she wanted she would throw tantrums until her family gave in. Her favourite tricks included grabbing other peoples food from their plates and hurling fragile objects to the floor. Once she even managed to lock her mother into the pantry. Eventually it became clear that something had to be done. So, just before her seventh birthday, the family hired a private tutor Anne Sullivan.

Anne was careful to teach Helen especially those subjects in which she was interested. As a result Helen became gentler and she soon learnt to read and write in Braille. She also learnt to read peoples lips by pressing her finger-tips against them and feeling the movement and vibrations. This method is called Tadoma and it is a skill that very, very few people manage to acquire. She also learnt to speak, a major achievement for someone who could not hear at all.

Helen proved to be a remarkable scholar, graduating with honours from Radcliffe College in 1904. She had phenomenal powers of concentration and memory, as well as a dogged determination to succeed. While she was still at college she wrote ‘The Story of My Life. This was an immediate success and earned her enough money to buy her own house.

She toured the country, giving lecture after lecture. Many books were written about her and several plays and films were made about her life. Eventually she became so famous that she was invited abroad and received many honours from foreign universities and monarchs. In 1932 she became a vice-president of the Royal National Institute for the Blind in the United Kingdom.

After her death in 1968 an organization was set up in her name to combat blindness in the developing world. Today that agency, Helen Keller International, is one of the biggest organizations working with blind people overseas.

Trees are an important kind of natural resources. Some of them, such as those fruit trees, can provide us with some food we need in our daily life while others may serve as indispensible raw materials. Our houses, furniture, paper are all produced out of trees.

Trees also play an important role in improving our environment. On the one hand, they can take in carbon dioxide but discharge oxygen for us; on the other hand, they can prevent soil erosion effectively.

Trees are so beneficial to our life that we are supposed to protect and plant more trees. Only in this way can our life become more convenient and the air much fresher.

During the same day, it might snow in the morning, rain at noon, shine in the

afternoon and be windy before the night falls. So I think I was lucky.

I think the river trip was the best thing of all. London really came alive

Thank you for giving me such a great birthday treat.

Since its first appearance in the 15th century in the courts of European royalty, ballet has become one of the most loved forms of dance. One of the most beloved ballets is “Swan Lake.” First performed in Russia in 1895, it continues to thrill audiences around the world today.

The word “ballet” itself is French, and comes from the Italian word ballo, meaning “a dance.” Ballet dancing, as we know it today, is a result of influences from many countries.  Italy, France, Russia, England, and America have all contributed important elements to this style of dance.

Highly technical, ballet is always performed to music and often tells a story. Though learning this style of dance is a difficult process, the results on stage are magical. The graceful moves display the body in the most elegant and beautiful manner possible.

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and expressgratitude in general. It is a holidaycelebrated primarily in Canada and the United States. While perhaps religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday.

The date and location of the first Thanksgiving celebration is a topic of modest contention. Though the earliest attested Thanksgiving celebration was on

September 8, 1565 in what is now Saint Augustine, Florida[1][2], the traditional "first Thanksgiving" is venerated as having occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621.

Today, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Thanksgiving dinner is held on this day, usually as a gathering of family members and friends.

Thanksgiving Dayin America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holidaymeals. A time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. A time for Indian corn, holiday parades and giantballoons.

Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November, which this year (2005) is November 24th.

The Pilgrims who sailed to this country aboard the Mayflower were originally members of the English Separatist Church (a Puritan sect). They had earlier fled their home in England and sailed to Holland (The Netherlands) to escape religious persecution. There, they enjoyed more religious tolerance, but they eventually became disenchantedwith the Dutch way of life, thinking it ungodly. Seeking a better life, the Separatists negotiated with a London stock company to finance a pilgrimage to America. Most of those making the trip aboard the Mayflower were non-Separatists, but were hired to protect the companys

interests. Only about one-third of the original colonists were Separatists.

The Pilgrims set ground at Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. Their first winter was devastating. At the beginning of the following fall, they had lost 46 of the original 102 who sailed on the Mayflower. But the harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one. And the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast -- including 91 Indians who

had helped the Pilgrims survive their first year. It is believed that the Pilgrims would not have made it through the year without the help of the natives. The feast was more of a traditional English harvest festival than a true "thanksgiving" observance. It lasted three days.

Governor William Bradford sent "four men fowling" after wild ducks and geese. It is not certain that wild turkey was part of their feast. However, it is certain that they had venison. The term "turkey" was used by the Pilgrims to mean any sort of wild fowl.

Another modern staple at almost every Thanksgiving table is pumpkin pie. But it is unlikely that the first feast included that treat. The supply of flour had been long diminished, so there was no bread or pastries of any kind. However, they did eat boiled pumpkin, and they produced a type of fried bread from their corn

crop. There was also no milk, cider, potatoes, or butter. There was no

domestic cattle for dairy products, and the newly-discovered potatowas still considered by many Europeans to be poisonous. But the feast did include fish, berries, watercress, lobster, dried fruit, clams, venison, and plums.

This "thanksgiving" feast was not repeated the following year. But in 1623, during a severe drought, the pilgrims gathered in a prayer service, praying for rain. When a long, steady rain followed the very next day, Governor Bradford proclaimed another dayof Thanksgiving, again inviting their Indian friends. It wasnt until June of 1676 that another Day of Thanksgiving was proclaimed.

Fourth of November every year is Thanksgiving Day on Thursday
