今天天气很好，万里无云，阳光明媚，小兔子出来散步，见到史上最慢的动物小乌龟，得意洋洋的对他说：“今天天气真好啊，小乌龟，你敢跟我赛跑吗?”小乌龟说：“不了，今天已经很晚了，我该回家了!”小兔子怒火冲天的说：“哼，你就是不敢跟我比，胆小鬼，不愧是一只缩头乌龟!”

小乌龟为了家族的荣耀，不得不同意了这场跑步比赛。它们把比赛时间定在了一个星期以后。小乌龟每天都在抓紧练习，而小兔子却每天除了吃，就是睡，完全不会做第三件事情。因为心想小乌龟可是史上跑的最慢、最慢的动物，就算我不练习，我也不会输给那只小乌龟，这次比赛它必输无疑了!

终于等到了比赛那一天了，它们请来了老松鼠爷爷做裁判，松鼠爷爷一枪令下，比赛开始啦!小兔子一下子就快跑到终点了，而小乌龟呢，还在起点呢!这时，小兔子已经很累了，它心想：小乌龟肯定还在起点呢，我睡会儿，就算它超过我了，我也可以再超过它，拿到第一名。霎时，它打了个哈欠，躺在了旁边，呼呼大睡着!过了很久很久，小乌龟已经爬到了兔子的旁边，这是的它已经很累很累了，也很想呼呼大睡一下，可它知道那样的话它就必输无疑了，它为了家族的荣耀，并没有睡着，而是继续前进着。

当小兔子醒来时，忽然听见了一阵又一阵欢呼。它立马向终点跑去，看见小乌龟已经到达了终点，小兔子后悔了，它不该没有好好练习，更不该在比赛时得意洋洋还睡着了。
