the hutongs cannot be replaced. Some particularly historic or picturesque

Mandarin cuisine is the local style of cooking in Beijing. Peking Roast

Duck is perhaps the most well-known dish. The Manhan Quanxi ("Manchu-Han Chinese

full banquet") is a traditional banquet originally intended for the

ethnic-Manchu emperors of the Qing Dynasty; it remains very prestigious and

expensive.

Teahouses are also common in Beijing. Chinese tea comes in many varieties

and some rather expensive types of Chinese tea are said to cure an ailing body

extraordinarily well.

The Jingtailan is a cloisonné metalworking technique and tradition

originating from Beijing, and one of the most revered traditional crafts in

China. Beijing lacquerware is well known for the patterns and images carved into

希望，是刚刚萌芽的小草;希望，是一只学习飞翔的雏鹰;希望，是一位唱着歌谣的儿童。生活里有了希望，就算在地狱也如同天堂。

曹操带兵穿越沙漠时，天气炎热又干燥，士兵们意志消沉，只希望能喝上一口水。于是，曹操对士兵们说：“前面有一片梅子林，到了那里我们再休息”。士兵们顿觉嘴里如同含着梅子，口也不渴了，行军速度大大加快。曹操的话给了士兵们前进的希望，正因为有了希望，所以他们有了动力，也有了坚定目标的决心。可见，希望的威力是如此之大，我们心中也要始终充满希望。

一位身体强壮的男子被查出患有癌症，医生告诉他完全可以通过手术就会根治。可就在等待手术的过程中，这位男子却去世了。由此可见，如果一个人失去了希望将会是多么可怕的事情。希望一旦被恐惧占据，人就会变得懦弱，不堪一击，再坚强的意志也会被消磨得不留痕迹。

司马迁在受到宫刑之后，忍受着屈辱写下了“史家之绝唱，无韵之离骚”的《史记》，为千古传颂。正因为他守住了心中的希望，所以才会坚强地用他那智慧与坚定的笔触写下了令人称颂的名篇。曹雪芹在写《红楼梦》时，已穷困潦倒，家徒四壁，靠卖书画来维持生计，可是，就算在这时，他也仍然坚持，借纸借，借笔，写下了中国四大经典著作之一的《红楼梦》，达到了文学的颠峰。曹雪芹痛拆着那个封建社会的黑暗，他希望用自己的笔来发出内心的愤慨。可怕的不是身在逆境，而是失掉了心中的希望。

一位工人失去了希望，他也就失去了工作的热情;一位学生失去了希望，他也就失去了学习的兴趣;一位商人失去了希望，他将失去了把握经济的机会;一位母亲失去希望，她将失去温馨的家庭……

心中的希望是前进的动力，是坚强的意志，是拼搏的决心，是坚韧的力量。我们需要希望，生活需要希望。

It was a sun day of the summer holiday. The weather was hot. My little brother and I decided to go to the resrvoir to swim by bike. It took us half an hour when we got there, many people were swimming. The we dived into the water……

About an hour later, suddenly somebody called: “help! help!” We were surprised to see a boy struggling in the deep water. As quickly as possible. We swam towards him and pulled him to the shore. He lost his consciousness. We sent him to the nearest hospital at once luckily, he was saved.

In the end, we were worn out, but felt happy. That day was meaningful. We did a good deed!
