Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

There was once a little boy that wanted to live in peace; that was because

of his parents, they were always bossy, and he couldn’t bare it like that. It

was in the middle night when the boy decided to run away; because he realized,

that his parents were watching cow movie 4, which was hilarious. It was one of

the most precious stories ever, which by the way, usually means that it makes

other people or you laugh out loud.

Before even trying to get on his bike and bike away from home; he packed

some food and ran away to the garage, which some how the reason is shaped like a

dog bone. When he got his helmet on top of his head, he biked off straight

towards the park. Where there he placed a blanket that happened to be a sleeping

bag; when it was done, he placed another layer on top of it to make it softer.

Before that he zipped the sleeping bag, and then he was ready to put the pillow

on the sleeve.

That was an idiom that I had mentioned before. And that would be over

taking some of the information back to its own brain. That was because of the

bike, its tires were out of air; and he would have to find something to get it

all pumped up. When he was all the way through with his plan, he decided to add

some perfection to it. That happened to be pumping up with his breathe taking,

it was a lot of work; but he soon pumped it full and went to be. As soon as he

got up, he had breakfast; and his only hope was to find his way back to where he

lived.

He packed up his snacks and sleeping bags or pillows and the layer.

It was all very happy of he the boy going back home, when he arrived, his

parents came out and hugged him; they had a conversation over it. “What were you

doing the time when you were gone? And that happened to be awesome!” “I guess it

was, but I knew that running away was not a good idea; I am really sorry that I

ran away. I guess I was just unhappy about you saying that I am a big boy for

chores, and that I am a small boy for watching hilarious movies such as cow

movie 4.”

His mom and dad explained to him, “I guess we are a little bit hard on you,

I guess you could watch cow movie four for once; and we are going to do the

dishes and to do the house work for you.”

He was very happy from that time on, and lived happily ever after. This was

a happy and good and glad ending.

My name is Yao Yuru, this year twelve years old, is a Gemini girl, is also

I am a healthy girl, because I have a good eating habit. I was a

After a few hours of resting, it was time to do some evening chores. Jack

grabbed his notebook and pen, he put on his glasses; and tried to concentrate

and read about his notes he had written before bed last night.

“Going to tree house, many books on the floor; open page dinosaur, made a

wish; arrived at time of dinosaurs. Open page frog lake creek, made a wish;

arrived at adventure frog lake creek,” “Who is going to believe allthese? Not my

mother, not my father, not my teacher Mrs. Waltson…” Only his little sister

time!” after saying that, Annie climbed up the ladder all the way to the top of

the tree house; “Annie! No!” shouted Jack, but he was too late; Annie already

climbed up, Jack had no choice; he climbed up too, and when he arrived he found

the floor all covered with books, “let us make another wish so that we could

have another adventure!” “No!” cried Jack, “Well I’m going!” shouted Annie, he

found a page with a knight, she pointed to the picture; and within a second they

were surrounded by knights; “Oh no,” thought Jack.

The Apple products are popular by the young people and the former CEO of

Apple Company was Steve Jobs. Though he has passed away, he was remembered by

the public all the time. His creativity inspired the young people to fight for

their future and his persistence was the key to success. His legend will last

forever.

He gets an allowance. He gets $5 a week. His dad gives it to him. His dad

gives $5 to him every Friday. He spends his allowance every weekend. He usually

spends it on Friday night. He spends it at the mall. He spends it on ice cream.

He buys three scoops of vanilla ice cream.

There is an old lady lives next to my house. Everyday I can see her

wandering around the main gate. My mother tells me that she is retired and has

nothing to do, so she likes to talk to others, or offers help. Once she helps me

to carry my luggage. I am so thankful to her. She is so kind and I like to talk

to her.

It was the final day that I got to spend time with my friends; because

tomorrow I would have to move where my aunt lived. My friends were very sad, and

I myself was also too. We huddled there for a long time, until our parents

called us home. The next day we woke up early and packed everything up; then we

took the train and started out for my aunt’s home. That day was so very hot, and

we had to climb a mountain before we arrive. Actually, I got to say that that

was quite amazing.

Not to mention hat during the climbing, I heard something that had shocked

me very much. Which also meant that I didn’t get to care as much as I was

supposed to; and it also gave me a very good idea that depends on my braveness,

actually not that idea sort of.

Here is how the story went on: When we arrived at the station, I got off

and said that I had missed my friends very, very much; but my mother said that I

could see them in the future.

I was very angry about hose words, and ran off as quickly as I could; but

my dad caught me since that he was in the first. I was very angry about that; my

dad said that we were going to climb a mountain.

When we arrived, dad showed me the map, and that we were going to have a

climbing race. My dad won of course, and I was the last. I was very sad; but my

mom said that was matter. Then I said, “Because first I got to lose my friends;

then I became angry because you said that I could see them in the future; then

everything went wrong.” “Like what?” asked my mom and dad together, “Like losing

the climbing game;” “So, it was just for fun like playing video games in the

house. Or trying to blow up your body in the lab, and besides tomorrow you can

see your friends again; we are only staying here for one whole night,” at these

words I was very astonished; even surprised of my wits.

That was when the next morning, I went back, and could play with my friends

once more. It was a very funny story since it was a real one, and I thought that

we were going move there. My friends questioned me about it, and yes I only had

one answer, I was playing with you and didn’t listen carefully.

My summer holiday is coming soon, I start to make some plans about my

vacation. I go to travel every year, this time, I want to travel to Tibet, it is

the place I always want to go to. I have heard about Tibet many times, my

mother’s friends tell me so many wonderful things in it, so I want to go to

Tibet. This summer I will go to Tibet.

I like reading books so much. My parents have bought me a lot of books when

I was three years old. They want me to be interested in reading. With my

parents’s education, I am very interested in novel books and I want to write

novels someday. I have come up with some idea, soon I can finish one.

friends. People should protect the animals, for saving themselves to some

degree. But some people kill the animals for getting money, they hurt these

I am an ordinary student in the school, I have lived in the school for more

than five years, our school is a beautiful big garden, is the teachers,

classmates common home. Here, I can smell the fresh air every day, I feel happy

for I can study in such an environment. However, I found that some students are

destroying our "home". Look at the plastic bags of bread "dancing" in the

hallway. However, none of the students passing by will pick it up. In order to

the environmental protection team go to each class at 2:30 p.m. every day to

check the health situation and urge the students to pay attention to health.
