Mid-Autumn Festival The 15th day of the 8th lunar month The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth moon， around the time of the autumn equinox(秋分)。 Many referred to it simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon".

This day was also considered as a harvest festival since fruits， vegetables and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant. Food offerings were placed on an altar set up in the courtyard. Apples， pears， peaches， grapes， pomegranates(石榴)， melons， oranges and pomelos(柚子) might be seen. Special foods for the festival included moon cakes， cooked taro(芋头)and water caltrope(菱角)， a type of water chestnut resembling black buffalo horns. 上午，我和爸爸妈妈一起先去了洛阳的奶奶家。全家围在一起吃着月饼，爷爷是退休的语文老师，就和我比赛背诵关于中秋、月亮的诗句，爷爷吟出的诗句好多我都不会背，爷爷就耐心地为我讲解，满屋都是我们的欢笑声。

下午，我们从奶奶家回到外婆家，推开外婆家的门，感觉是那样的冷清，最疼爱我的外爷去年匆匆离开了我们，泪眼中，外爷那慈祥的面孔，慈爱的笑容就在我的眼前，外爷还穿着那件老式的工作服娃娃，你来了!累不累?饿了吧，快来，这儿有你爱吃的东西先吃点!耳边又回荡起外爷爽朗地笑声和亲切的话语。

往年的中秋节，我们总会和外爷一起坐在明亮的月光下，吃着美味月饼、各种水果，我最喜欢和外爷一起分吃月饼，外爷爱吃五仁月饼，而我爱吃水果味的，我们吃着月饼，外爷会拿起一个最大的石榴，掰成两半，笑呵呵地递给我一半，快吃吧，娃娃，这个石榴可甜了。我吃着甜甜的石榴，一下甜到了心里，我们每一个人的脸上都笑容满面。

如今，家里少了慈祥、勤劳的外爷，显得那样的冷清，我们在外爷的遗像前摆上月饼、水果、点心，照片中的外爷笑得依然那样慈祥，然而，却再也听不到外爷那熟悉的话语。

走出外婆家，才发现今晚的月亮真大真亮，我和爸爸妈妈缓缓走在明亮的月光下，月光柔柔地洒在我们身上，我的心情是那样的沉重，抬头望着明月，外爷是否也在赏月?此时，我似乎在圆圆的月亮上看到了美丽的嫦娥，长裙飘飘，怀抱玉兔，深情地望着大地，嫦娥是不是也在思念着亲人，思念着后羿?

低下头，不知不觉中，我思念的泪水悄悄流了出来。
