All agree, however, that the word Nian, which in modern Chinese solely means year , was originally the name of a monster beast that started to prey on people the night before the beginning of a new year.

One legend goes that the beast Nian had a very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with one bite. People were very scared. One day, an old man came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian. meat in one week. Last but not least, we should do exercise everyday. There are

当然，成绩下滑和我自己是分不开的。在上课时我总有一些小动作，写作业马马虎虎等等一些小的毛病，才让我的成绩下滑。我暗下决心以后要以认真、仔细的态度来完成作业，上课时克服一些小的毛病，做到真正的一心一意。

I’m a student of Huayang No. 1 Middle School. In front of our school gate is a street, on both sides of which are many shops and restaurants. Every day during rush hour, especially at noon, stalls selling everyday goods and food appear on the street, which makes it terriblycrowded.
