I was bored. So I wanted to travel to Hong Kang. I told my father my

decision. To my surprise, my father agreed. My father thought I always at home

While there are many versions of the origins and old customs of Halloween, some remain consistent by all accounts. Different cultures view Holloween somewhat differently but traditional Halloween practices remain the same.

Halloween culture can be traced back to the Druids, a Celtic culture in Ireland, Britain and Northern Europe. Roots lay in the feast of Samhain, which was annually on October 31st to honor the dead.

Samhain signifies "summers end" or November. Samhain was a harvest festival with huge sacred bonfires, marking the end of the Celtic year and beginning of a new one. Many of the practices involved in this celebration were fed on superstition.

The Celts believed the souls of the dead roamed the streets and villages at night. Since not all spirits were thought to be friendly, gifts and treats were left out to pacify the evil and ensure next years crops would be plentiful. This custom evolved into trick-or-treating.

I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you for caring me in the last

two years. During the days of being your student, I learn a lot. Firstly, your

serious attitude towards teaching and our students moves me too much. You

inspire and push me to work harder and harder. Secondly, I fall in love with

English under the influence of you. As a student of science and engineering,

I’ve been thinking that English does no good to me, but you help me to find the

曾经，我会骄傲的对别人说，我最喜欢的事是画画，我的最大的优点也是会画画。现在，这种强烈幸福感已荡然无存，为了一个梦想而割舍另一个梦想，我不明白，为什么我们要一遍一遍走者别人早已涉足的道路，让梦想变成疼痛。

六年级，我最终默默的放下画夹，默默的屈服于命运，没有悲伤的泪水，只有寂寥的沉默，母亲固执的认为艺术生没什么前途，她只想让我当好一个平凡的学生，有好成绩，然后考上一所好的大学，有一份好工作，然后过上轻松富足的生活，就够了。

曾经一次一次的与母亲争论梦想与现实，我理解的幸福就是实现自己的终极梦想，然后在梦想中做自己喜欢的工作。母亲却笑我说：“没有物质做保障，你怎么生活下去？”我知道，母亲是个现实主义者，比起梦想，她大概考虑的更多的会是中午饭吃什么。母亲的幻想之城早已丢失了。

我们理直气壮的相信着童话和梦想，而大人们总是微笑着怀疑――用他们自以为是的沧桑。而拒绝长大的我们或许拥有真正的幸福吧。

今年暑假，我试着再次提起笔，可笔尖早已丢失了灵性，那么我只有坚持着现在的梦想，并且，永不言弃。不管你们觉得我有多虚伪，我都想说：“大人们，找会你们的梦想和幻想之城，和我一样的人们，坚持你们的梦想，不要让自己悔恨自己当初的放弃，就足够了。”
