Some people have seen the sea, but others havent. The sea looks beautiful on a fine day. But it can be very rough when there is a strong wind. The sea is very large. There is more sea in the world than land. If you have swum in the sea, you know that the sea is salty. Do you know the Dead Sea? It is so salty that you cant sink when you are in the water. And fish cant live in it!

Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them.

Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

Mother is the most important person to us. Now people celebrate Mother’s

Day every year. It has become more and more popular. This day is on the second

Sunday in May. On that day, children often send their mother flowers to express

their love. And some children make small gifts for their mothers.

In last years Mothers Day, I didnt spend it with my mother because she

was in the hometown and I was at school, which made me feel ashamed. At night, I

called my mother. At that time, I left my tears, and my mother told me that I

should study hard at school. In the end, I said to her “Happy Mother’ Day, I

love you" and she was very surprised and happy.

I have a lot of friends but Amy is my best friend.He is a boy. Both of us are good at English, so we often have a chat in English in our spare time. He not only gets good marks in all subjects but also is very kind and modest. He loves popular songs and also classical music.

Sports help everyone to keep healthy, happy, and efficient.So I pay special attention to games, especially table-tennis. Table tennis is my favorite game.I play it almost every day.

Table-tennis is an ideal game us because it brings the whole body into action. It strengthens our muscles, expands our lungs, promotes the circulation of the blood, and causes a healthy action of the skin. Besides, it is very amusing and does not cost us much money.Table-tennis is very moderate; it is not so rough as football.It is an indoor game and can be played even on rainy days.Thus, it is my favorite kind of exercise.
