距高考100天前的一天早上，杨老师抱着一累习题走进教室，说：“做了今天的这套考前习题，明天就进行高考模拟。”话毕叫班长和学习委员把习题发到同学们手里，接下来静静的教室里只到一片沙沙的写字声。我拿着习题反复看了几遍，习题上赫然印有“考前模拟”的字样，又抬头环顾学友们，只见埋头奋笔，便收住怀疑，写上大名，开始做题。

高中时，爱好文学的我开始偏科，特别讨厌代数，由此也就不太喜欢教代数课的杨老师。明明是提前搞高考模拟，却真话假说，对他这种做法十分地不认可，两小时下来，题没做几道就交卷，满脑子想着杨老师的不是，弊着一肚子的气。

终于到了公开分数的日子，一个人回到学校，在高考榜单上看到了决定命运的分数：398分！加照顾分，一脚迈进新校园。细看各科得分，代数：51分！！！“哇塞，我有个老师儿子了！”我忍不住大声叫道。而此时此刻，班主任杨老师正站在旁边，一脸微笑地看着我，弄得我心里挺不是滋味。我又细看了其他同学的分数，排在我前面的有9人，大多模拟高考分300分以上的人名落我后。而另11名“老铁”中，仅2人未能考取新学校。

1995年7月从省城昆明学成归来，因县财政困难，我等候了6个月，次年1月分配到一个地处高寒山区的省级贫困乡工作。在省城上学期间和工作以来，一直寻找机会向杨老师真诚地说声“谢谢！”可惜始终没有这个良缘。杨老师在我工作的第六个年头光荣退休，回了北方老家。听高中同学说起，杨老师回老家两年后，因水土不服回来了，我去他家找过几次，一直未遇。
