I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. There was once a little girl named Anna, that wanted to have magic in this

world; but she knew that her mother would just only laugh at her if she had told

her. And so she decided to go on the adventure on her own.

She got everything that she needed to complete her mission, and then

started off without a word to say. She headed out to the woods, and found a

little tree house nearby; she climbed up there with a ladder, and found lots of

books and shelves there. She found a book about knights, and turned to a page of

pictures of knights long ago; and how they battle enemies such as that. Anna

wished so much that she could go there.

After that she fell asleep, and then she opened her eyes, and found her on

the ground; as if she were asleep… She thought it very weird, that she was here;

at first she was at the tree house, then she was at the grass plot.

She got up, and walked through looking for an exit, then she found the book

that she was reading before; she knew that she must have gone into the knight’s

story because of her wish. She picked up the book, and looked around; The book

suddenly moved like magic, then, she found the books end; there were some words

written all over it.

She read in out loud, “If you want to escape this land you are in, all you

have to do is try and face all the knights, there are four of them; good luck!”

then she began searching for knights, but what she did before that was to think

about how to defeat them… She walked along the road, and finally saw a big tree

with a sharp branch; she had an idea of how she could face the knights; she

broke down the branch, and kept on searching. She was not quite ready for

beating them, for she just needed some other things in order to defeats them…

She kept on her journey, and suddenly realized a big rock; she was tired and so

lay on it. Then a crack came on her back, and the rock got up. Anna was

astonished, she stood up and said, “Who are you?” then the rock replied. “I am

the alive rock and I suppose you are Anna;” “How did you know my name?”

The rock took a breath and replied, “Because I heard your voice ever since,

I know you are looking for some new weapons to defeat knights…” “I most

certainly am alive rock,” and she bowed down. The rock then said, “I suppose I

can be of much use to you, I am going to come with you; and see whether there

are dangers…”

And so Anna and the alive rock moved along, suddenly they came to a big

giant tree; the tree said slowly, “Who are you that dare come to my place?”

“Ah!” shouted Anna, “Alive tree!” “How did you guess my name?” asked the talking

tree; “Because-because your, a-liv-e!” “Yep! And that’s my neighbor;” answered

alive rock. Anna then said; “OH, well I suppose you can be a lot of use to me

when I defeat knights!”

“Knight? Defeat? Ha! That is already the easiest sport I could think of! I

had defeated knights for like 2089 times!” “What?!” asked Anna rather surprised,

then she gulped and answered; “Then you must come with me!” answered Anna

proudly. And so the three of them marched down, until they came was a big knife;

the knife turned around and said, “Who are you little girl?” “Ah!” shouted Anna

again, “That’s our neighbor too!” replied alive tree and alive rock

together.

Anna then said, “Oh, then you must come with me; I have to defeat knights!”

“Oh,” answered the knife, “Then I suppose I could be a lot of use to you, now

all we are missing in the alive shield…” He didn’t even finish until, “What?!”

shouted Anna, “Don’t shout Anna!” replied alive tree, “This isn’t fake, it is

true; follow knife!”

Then knife led the group to where the big shield was, he was brushing his

face when they arrived, “Oh, hello everybody; and hello little girl named Anna!”

“How did you all know my name?” “No time for that!” shouted alive rock, “We have

knights to defeat!” “And you must come with us alive shield!” “No problem!”

shouted he, and then the group marched off.

They at last reached the knights hiding spot, the four knights answered;

“We shall destroy you!” speaking of which, the knights charged toward Anna’s

group; “Attack!” shouted Anna. Alive tree, alive rock, alive knife and mostly

alive shield charged toward the knights. Seeing such a fright, the knights said,

“You know what; maybe today is not the day boys…

Then the knights were destroyed by the alive group team.

Suddenly a flash came upon Anna, and she vanished out of sight; “Where did

she go?” asked the group. Then she shook their heads, and went back to their

homes…

And for Anna, she got back home; and she at last knew that magic is really

magic…

As a child, I like to eat all kinds of meat, but I don’t like vegetables.

My mother always tries to let me eat some vegetables. She educates me that

balanced diet can help me stay healthy. I start to realize the importance of

balanced diet, so I try to have vegetable. Later, I find that I fall in love

with it, and now vegetable is necessary food for me.

It was a long four years. Even after I had actually graduated, the

nightmares began to haunt me, the university would call to say I hadn’t truly

graduated. There had been a mistake and there was just one more class I needed

to take. I was always so relieved to wake up and realize that it had only been a

bad dream. In reality, I had completed every course needed for my degree, and I

was a full-fledged college graduate!

Now, the rest of my life loomed ahead of me. Sometimes a bachelor’s degree

prepares you for a specific occupation——you train to be an accountant, you

graduate and get a position in an accounting firm. Often, however, your stint in

college only prepares you to make further decisions regarding your future.

You’re pretty sure what you don’t want to do!

During my senior year of college, I had toyed with the idea of changing my

major. At that point, I had finally discovered what captured my heart. But,

wanting to finally be finishing school was a stronger pull. So, I took a few

courses in physiology and exercise science, but not enough to receive a degree

in physical therapy. That would require advanced schooling, beyond my bachelor’s

degree——and I just wasn’tready to tackle that. Having completed my B.C. degree,

I didn’t have any intentions of furthering my education.

So, I did the safe thing and got an office job——the very thing I was sure

that I didn’t want to do! I detested the office policies, the suits I had to

wear and the downtown environment that I had to drive to every day. I knew this

was not where I belonged.

But god knew what path my career was to follow. A position opened up at the

most exclusive health club in our city, so I applied. This was my kind of

environment——an active, vibrant kind of place——completely at the opposite end of

the spectrum from the office environment where I found myself. The position

required that I work Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Perfect, I thought! I

could keep my office job Monday through Friday and work at my dream job on the

weekends. This arrangement lasted several months until, eventually, a full-time

position opened up and I was able to resign from my office job.

Over the next few years, I worked my way up the leader, gaining experience

in several different departments. I found my niche as the director of member

services——catering to our clientele and providing them with numerous

cutting-edge programs. I would have stayed at that job forever——it seemed to be

the pinnacle of all my dreams fulfilled. Here were fellow employees who had a

passion for the same things that I did——health and fitness. Yet again, god had

other plans for my life.Within two years, a newer, bigger, better and more

state-of-the-art health club facility was built——just five miles down the road.

And, in turn, the owner lost many members to that club. And, in turn, the owner

lost thousands of dollars. One by one we were each laid off.

After trying unsuccessfully to land another similar position elsewhere, I

knew what I had to do. Go back to school!thanks!

A culture creats a city, the water and soil bring up the people. At the

foot of Erlang mountain, in the middle of Sichuan province, lies a small town

named Tian Quan. I am proud to say: it is my hometown.

Wherever I go, Tian Quan stays in my deep memory forever. I can not forget

the place where I was born and grow up, I can not forget the place where

surrounded by green mountains and water, I can not forget the good and honest

people who working hard in there, I can not forget every river, every street

there.

Standing at the top of the WenBi mountain, you will catch a bird’s eye view

of the whole Tian Quan. You will find it is a beautiful picture including the

mordern colour and old smell.

Looking at the lovly provious animals , such as panda, Takin, Golden

monkey. You will thinks the nature has special power to make life so

wonderful.

My hometown has a long history of culture. There is the

tea-horse-accient-way, which attracts Chinese and foreign tourists to visit .

Walking on the tea-horse-accient-way, you can’t help sign in regret how long our

culture is!

Tian Quan is also famous for it’s culture of tea. In summer , the farmers

work on the tea plantations, you will regard it as a lively picture. If you have

Nothing is difficult if you put your heart into it. Nothing is easy if you

don’t try your best.

We often hear people say, “Never give up.” A person who believes in these

words will keep trying to pursue his goal no matter how many times he fails. In

my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have.

Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.

One reason is that if we give up easily, we will achieve nothing. It is not

unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not

feel discouraged. Besides, if we always give up when fail happens, we will can

the wolf joyfully, “I shall never forget your kindness!” then the wolf returned

to his home. Jerry walked to the market to buy healthy fresh bread, and then she

ran off home with a full basket of it.

On the way, she was still tired; and so she stayed at the same place and

the same time. As she was about to go, some greedy wolves blocked her way; they

had water in their mouths and said, “Give us the bread!” said a wolf, “Where are

the mustard?” asked a second wolf, “Just give it to us!” shouted the third wolf.

Jerry had no choice, as she was about to give the fresh bread away to the wolf,

the wolf that she had saved before rushed out and said, “Leave her alone!” he

growled, “That girl saved me before, and so leave her alone!” he shouted

again.

The other wolves had no choice but to obey, they walked away. Jerry thanked

her new friend the wolf, and the wolf said that he was supposed to do that in

return. And so to show Jerry’s respect for him, she gave him half the bread, and

returned home immediately to tell her mother about it.

They had some bread that evening, and Jerry’s mother including Jerry

herself all became good friends with the wolf; the wolf also had plenty of

bread, and moved his home close to Jerry.

The moral of this story was, if you help others and they will help you, you

help them again then friends you’ll become. It will be a peaceful life if

friendship is all around us; and that would be great for an important

lesson.

Li Hua is a Yong Pioneer. He is going to the park. Now he is waiting for a

bus. Suddenly he finds a watchon theground.He askssome people, "Whose watch is

it?" But the watch isnt theirs. So he gives the watch to a policeman.

不知您是否记得我，我是小学部六年级中的一员，作为一名马上就要毕业的学生，我提几个建议，希望您能接受。

我是一名女生，住在二区五楼，我们宿舍的空调、水管经常坏。水管时不时的会漏水，有时中午一回去满地都是水，我的室友还滑倒过几次。我们的生活老师也给工程部报修过好几回，还是没人修。空调呢，也是一直“吱——吱——”地响，影响我们的休息，有时还跳闸，热得我们大汗淋漓，再次开空调时，那可真是“春风拂面”。尊敬的校长，请让维修师傅赶紧来看一看修一修吧!

还有餐厅，夏天到了，天气十分炎热，二楼餐厅就是不开空调，一天三顿饭，每吃完一顿就跟洗了个澡一样，头发紧贴皮肤，衣服也湿透了，十分难受;已经开学两个月了，餐厅的空调一次也没开。还有，我希望餐厅的饭菜也能有所改善，例如：早餐的甜点里能将里面的白糖融化，不那么腻，中午和晚上的菜也不要混搭，混搭有时会十分难吃……

最后，就是课程的问题了，也不知道课程表是谁安排的，周四上午除一节数学课外，全是语文，为此我们和老师也抱怨好久，因为上一上午的语文课，老师太累了，我们也很累。而周五下午全是副课，说是副课又和正课差不多，学完这个考那个，最后还得学乐器，大脑真的接收不过来了。我们十分希望能将课程调到适中，既有副课又有正课，劳逸结合。
