我承认，我是守岁的失败者，但我却懂得了为什么守岁。守岁，守岁，守着家，守着亲人，大人们守着孩子健康长大，孩子们守着大人延年益寿。

今年，我随爸妈一起去老家过年。这次，我决定和大家一样也要守岁，让新年的晨曦第一时间映入眼帘，体验一下这意义非凡的传统年俗。

时间一点点过去，渐渐进入了守岁的攻坚阶段。大人们有的在看春晚节目，有的在喝茶聊天，有的在打牌娱乐，而孩子们玩着玩着，瞌睡虫便来了。外婆笑眯眯地走过来，摸摸我的脑袋说：“可千万别睡着哦。”“嗯，嗯，我一定要守到新年的钟声响起!”我不服输地说道。趁外婆不注意，便悄悄溜进卫生间，用凉水洗脸，让自己保持清醒。

守岁不知道是什么时候结束的，我醒来时却睡在暖暖的被窝里，枕边放着一套崭新的新年服、一个红红的压岁包、还有一个大大的红苹果。一睁眼就看到了“平安”。

Spring Festival was my favorite Chinese festival when I was a child. At

that time, I had a great time. Every year at that time I could dress new

clothes, get lucky money from relatives and seldom receive criticism from my

mother. Everything seems such wonderful. However, as I grow up, I find Spring

Festival is less and less interesting. I just feel that as usual. What’s worse,

with the fireworks, I find Spring Festival is a noisy festival. So I don’t like

it any more.

年夜饭是一年中最丰盛的一顿饭，所以一定要用心准备。大年二十八，奶奶开始谱写年夜饭菜单了。原来，年夜饭中的习俗可真多啊！

鱼是肯定要有的，寓意着“年年有余”；什锦菜是我们南京年夜饭中必不可少的特色菜，寓意是“十全十美”，其中的荠菜表示“聚财”，藕是“路路通”，豆芽代表“玉如意”，香菇代表“和和美美”，芹菜代表“勤快”……

当然，我家的年夜饭中，少不了我最爱吃的牛柳和鸡汤。至于它们是什么意思，我就管不了那么多了，好吃就是硬道理。

除夕晚上，爷爷放完鞭炮，奶奶就把菜端上了桌。哇，奶奶做的菜不仅寓意美好，还真好吃，真是名不虚传啊！我记得最后上桌的是饺子，奶奶说那表示“金元宝”。

真没想到，这年夜饭的习俗这么多呀！中国的文化可真是博大精深！

So many children take what their parents do for them for granted, they

haven’t realized the meaning of being grateful. So they always get angry with

their parents, because they don’t get what they want. According to the news that

a little girl went out of the house and refused to go home because her parents

did not give her enough pocket money. I was so shocked to hear it, I would never

ask much from my parents, because I knew they were not easy to make a living and

I am always feel so thankful for what they offer me. Even the one who gives me a

hand when I am in need, I would remember him and when I have the chance, I will

return. A grateful heart makes us a kind person and create a harmonious

environment.

Spring Festival ,known as the Chinese New Year,is the most important

holiday in China.From late January to early February,Chinese people are busy

preparing for the New Year.They clean their houses ,have their hair cut,and buy

new clothes .Jiaozi or dumpling is most popular.To those who live far away from

their home,this festival is also a framily reunion occasion.

And they often go back home to celebrate the festival with their family.The

first day of the new year is the time when people visit their friends adn wish

each other good luck in the new year.
