Too often we feel that few of our friends are true friends, without the traditional feeling of mutual affection which could only be created by longtime apart. But several decades ago, people treasured their friends and maintained relatively close interpersonal relations, which is much more enjoyable than the estrangements we are experiencing.

The last factor that has made our age so uncomfortable is the abusive use of technology. Although it brings much convenience, it essentially changes human – we are no longer the master of tools, but instead the slaves of devices. We rush to metro station in order to catch an early train, sit in front of radioactive computers all day long in order to get our work done, and stay in air-conditioned rooms all summer without experiencing the natural changes outside thick cement walls. Several decades ago, people could still live closer to nature and make rational use of modern technology, which to me is the essence of human living experience.

However, the comparison between different times is itself ridiculous. The criteria could not be easily determined, and opinions are highly personal. Anyway, we have a longer life span, more advanced medical facilities, and easier traffic than our grandparent when they were children, and we should treasure the present experience. Imagination of the past might only be nostalgia – if I ask my grandparents the same question, they might as well say that our life is much better than the past generations. Who knows? 面对罪犯，好些人因为过于害怕而无耻地放弃了斗争，和其他人一样，睁一只眼闭一只眼。可是，还是有些人有足够的勇气与罪犯斗争。他们无惧罪犯的行动阻止了犯罪分子做邪恶的事情，拯救了受害者并保护了公共财产。

To reduce the crime rate, we all the people should receive a law education.

Criminals must be severely punished. Meanwhile we should set up a foundation to

reward those who fight criminals. It is also important to call on people to

learn from those heroes and encourage more people to stand up to crime.

为了降低犯罪率，我们所有人都应该接受法制教育。罪犯必须受到严惩。同时，我们应该建立一个基金来奖励勇于与犯罪分子斗争的人。号召人们向英雄学习并鼓励更多的人抵抗犯罪也是一件非常重要的事情。

我并不美丽，但我充满自信。因为自信，我变得更加开朗，因为自信，我变得更加乐观。自信，在我的生活中那可是必不可少的部分。 I am not beautiful, but I am confident.Because of self -confidence, I became more cheerful, because of self -confidence, I became more optimistic.Confidence, in my life, is an essential part.

记得那是去年的冬天，学校举行朗读比赛，过关者即可再到市里面比赛。

刚开始，有好多人报名。我到了比赛场地时不由地有些心怯。这可咋办呀，这么多人，我能行吗?这时，我和自信相见了，他告诉我：“你能行，你一定可以，还没比赛了，你可不能退缩。”我深吸一口气，上了演讲台，开始了我的第一次演讲。令人高兴的是，我被选上了，随后的日子便是学校老师再一次的筛选，剩下的四个人，要每天去学校教导处练习，等待市教育局发的比赛通报。

准备的那段日子可过的真是快。一个星期后的下午，老师吧我们比赛的人叫到了一起，告诉我们明天的比赛场地，开赛时间以及参赛规则。听老师说这次的比赛那可就是各校中选拔出的佼佼者，念得最好的人。我心中暗暗打气：努力，努力，努力，不要怕，你一定行。

等我到了比赛场地时，比赛已经开始了。首先上场的是小学组。只见这些小同学们一个个精神抖擞，气势昂扬，演讲的那可是个激情澎湃。因为比赛的主题是关于梦想的，既然是关于梦想，那个人说起来又会无动于衷呢?时间一分一秒的过去了，这时，我突然看到一个熟悉的身影是她，与我一起学琴的同学，连续3年的演讲第一名!原本斗志满满的我现在就像霜打的茄子，焉了吧唧的。中场休息了几分钟，很快就到了初中组开赛了。

我是第7号，前面的那几位的实力可个个都不可小瞰，马上就到我了，我到底行不行啊!“第6号选手上场，第7号选手请准备。”此时，坐在备战席上的我可谓是紧张不已。毕竟是第一次参加演讲比赛。深呼吸，放松;深呼吸，放松;我连续做了好几个，都不能放平心态，反而随着6号选手演讲时间的减少，更加紧张了。这时，我和自信再一次相见了。“之前的努力不就是为了这一刻吗?难道你辛辛苦苦写下的稿子就因为你的紧张而白费了吗?不要紧张，相信自己，你可以，你一定行，付出的人一定会受到回报。”

随着主持人的报幕声，我自信的走上了台，微笑的看着大家，开始了我的演讲。“大家好，我叫孙凤敏，今天我演讲的题目是《放飞梦想》”真是皇天不负有心人，最终我取得了三等奖。因为是第一次，所以三等奖已经很不错了。

自信+能力=成功，想要成功，就要有超过二分之一的自信，然而丢下自信的人，却很难成功。让我们“拾起自信”，在自信中学会努力，学会坚强，学会向前，迎接成功。
