于是我和弟弟妹妹拿着铲子和篮子，跟着爷爷，高高兴兴地出发了。

来到田里，我们分成两队：我和妹妹一队，爷爷和弟弟一队，决定进行挖荸荠比赛。爷爷先示范给我们看。只见他找了一块地，用铲子挖了一个大坑。因为荸荠和泥土的颜色差不多，我没看见埋在土里的荸荠。爷爷弯下腰在坑里使劲抠一个深紫色的东西。可是土地不让它走，把它捆得牢牢的。于是爷爷又用铲子在离坑的边缘还有三厘米的地方往下铲，一个圆圆的东西蹦了出来，是荸荠！再仔细看看坑的周围，还有很多荸荠，我们便迫不及待地用铲子铲出来放进篮子里。比赛正式拉开了帷幕。我和妹妹力气小，所以要齐心协力，因此每次往下挖时，都要齐声喊：“一、二、三，下！”不一会儿，我们也挖了个大坑，可是坑里有许多又白又圆的东西，用铲子挖出来一看，原来是荸荠被铲碎了。我和妹妹都互相埋怨起来。看看他们的篮子里，荸荠已经装了大半篮子了。我们也不甘示弱，赶紧把碎荸荠捡进篮子里，又继续绕着坑的边缘挖。这次，我们可不敢象刚才那样莽撞了。

突然，弟弟大叫一声：“啊，水蛇！”我们也凑过去看，只见浑浊不清的泥水

中，一个细长的东西扭动着身子，在水里钻来钻去。爷爷把那东西捡起来，说：“什么水蛇啊？是泥鳅！”我们也嘘了一口气，怪弟弟大惊小怪，影响了我们的进度。

又挖了一会儿，只见坑底有一个大荸荠。我把荸荠捡进篮子里，心里甭提有多高兴了。经过我们的一番努力，我们篮子里的荸荠也有一半了。

夜幕降了下来，我们该回家了，比赛最终打成了平手。虽然衣服上沾满了泥巴，弄得狼狈不堪。但我的心一直是甜的，是美的！
