time. And during my winter vacation, we welcome the most important festival in

At that night, our family came together and had a big meal. Of course we

Im just writing to let you know that were all well, and I hope you are, too. Unfortunately, Ive got some rather bad news for you: Im afraid I made a bit of a mess of Johns car. Anyway, heres what happened.

We were on our way to Carols after a long party, and I suppose it must have been about eleven o’clock. Well, the last few miles back home were really dark and deserted. I now realize I was probably going a bit too fast for a country lane because, although the road was fairly straight, I drove up onto the curb and went into a tree.

Of course, John was absolutely furious and started shouting at me and cursing. After we d argued for a few moments, we decided to look at the damage, and he calmed down a bit. Well, we found we could move the car, but the wing was caught on the wheel, so we couldnt drive it. I tried to pull the wing clear, but I didnt succeed.

Anyway, John went off to phone for a breakdown lorry, but while he was away, I had another go at the wing and this time succeeded in pulling it right off. I threw it onto the back seat, and by that time John got back and we were ready to go?so we didnt need the breakdown lorry at all. John has more or less forgiven me now, but he was very angry with me for a few days. I suppose I was a bit careless.

Thanks for your letter which finally caught up with me in London. I suppose youre keen to hear how the trip has been so far. So heres a short description of whats happened.

Well, you remember we left Sydney on Monday and arrived in London 24 hours later. After such a long and exhausting flight the first thing we did was to have a good, long sleep. And after that?a good meal to make up for all that horrible airline stuff!

The first real day of our holiday was spent just walking around London to get a feel of the place. After that, however, we were more particular and planned each day carefully.

First, we looked at all the historical sights, such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, the British Museum and the National Gallery. Then we visited some other famous places, such as Kew Gardens and Hampstead Heath. Finally, we took a one-day trip to Oxford, which is really the most marvelous town. You should make sure to go there when you visit England.

After we had seen a lot of London, we flew to Paris. A t first, we didnt like the place-I suppose because it was so different from London. Later, though, we began to really love it and started to appreciate its differentness.

The final stage of our trip is a visit to Rome, after which we will be staying in Singapore for two days before returning to Australia.

三国城坐落在葱茏苍翠的军嶂山麓、风景如画的太湖之滨，是拍摄连续剧《三国演义》的重要景点。到了三国城的大门，首先映入眼帘的是宏伟的城楼，用一种磅礴的气势欢迎我们的到来。我们秋游的第一站是水兵训练营，里面的设施可真齐全，有一艘古老的木战船，停泊在茫茫的湖泊中，还有两位张弓拉箭的大将军守候在这里，真是栩栩如生。接着，我们又去了吴营码头，老师带领我们乘上一艘小船，行驶在碧波浩渺的湖面上，我们个个咧着嘴大笑。最后来到骑马区，我摸了摸口袋一看，唉，我咋忘记带钱了呀?一旁的文老师说：“来，我请你骑马吧，”顿时我便感到一股暖流流遍全身。我小心翼翼的骑上了马，置身于这样的情景之中，我仿佛回到了英雄辈出的三国时代，和同学们一起征战沙场，建功立业。随着时光的流逝，我们的秋游接近尾声，大家都还意犹未尽，依依不舍地乘着大巴离开了三国城。

Yesterday is my six-year-old birthday. It is important to me as I can go to

primary school after my birthday. It means that I grow up. I got up very early

at that day. My mother just smiled at me and said nothing. I felt a little down.

But I recovered with excited soon and then I went out to play. Everything in my

eyes is so beautiful. When I got home about five o’clock, my mother gave me a

surprise. She prepared a party for me and invited all my friends. She also gave

a lovely schoolbag to me as my birthday present. I’m so happy that day.

I like dancing very much. I learn to dance from four years old. Until now,

there are already nine years. I take part in many activities, because I think I

want to perform in front of people. I have a good dance teacher. She dances very

well. She is strict with me. Once I make mistakes, she points it out directly. I

learn a lot from her. Now, we are good friends. She always encourages me. I

think dance is good to me. I make many dancing friends. And it’s good way to

build my body.

Before I go to sleep, I like to listen to soft music, it can help me relax

我的电子拼图有很多大大小小的椭圆形电子零件，只要将这些零件按照说明书组装就可以拼出各种形状的航模。组装它们不是一件容易的事，要有足够的细心和耐心才行。我先按说明书拿了几个零件拼，可是感觉拼出来的模型歪歪扭扭的，也不会转动。于是就把它们拆掉重新拼。第二次，我重复上次拼拼出来的也还是不像，反复几次总是拼不好，我感觉我的耐心渐渐失散，就把它丢到一边不管了。妈妈看到后说和我一起拼，于是我们对照说明书重新开始，一点一点检查，原来我把两块相似的零件搞混了，所以拼出来的模形是不会转动的。

当拿着拼好的第一个模形时我很开心，我知道不论是拼模型还是做其它事情，光有耐心是不够的，还要有足够的细心才行。

后来我又拼出了好几个各种各样的模型，感觉很有成就感。

其实，这篇课文写：一个地球，是咱们的母亲，如果不加节制地滥用各种资源，各种化学品的话，就等于伤害了她，等于破坏了她。最危险的是：科学家已经证明，至少在以地球为中心的40万亿公里的范围内，没有适合人类居住的第二个星球。人类都不能指望在破坏了地球以后再移居到别的星球上去。从这句话说明，适合人类居住就是只有一个——地球，人类真的应该保护地球，不要让地球上的各种资源枯竭，不然不但地球会毁灭，连人类的世界末日都要到了。地球，她已经慷慨地向人类不断提供矿产资源，现在我们应该保护她，不应该去破坏她，毁坏她。地球，在我们心目中是重要的，也是美丽的。她所提供的水资源、生物资源、森林资源、大气资源都是宝贵，它们不是一下子就有的，它们是经过几万年才能形成的。

I get up at six in the morning. Then I wash my face and brush my teeth.

After a quick breakfast, I go to school in my mothers car. It takes us more

than half an hour to get there.

We have four hour classes in the morning. I have lunch at my grandparents,

阳光明媚的一个下午，空旷的草地边传来一阵喧闹，出什么事了？大家急匆匆地赶过去。

哦！原来是在踢足球呀，他们脱下衣服，放下书包，垒成球门，站好队形，便开始了一场足球比赛，“啪”球腾空而起，刚传到一队队员脚下，二队马上把球抢了过去，一队队员紧紧追赶，争取抢到了球，坐在最边上的两个观众急得大叫起来：“快抢呀！快抢呀！”一队马上抢过球准备射门，二队马上又踢走了球，不一会儿，“啪”的一声响起，一个男孩够着头盯住球，他心里替一队焦急，情不自禁地大声叫：“快抢呀！”一队的守门员两眼盯着前方，手扶在膝盖上，准备接球，一个穿红衣服的男孩马上跑到球门后面，生怕看不到这场球赛，“咚”的一声，守门员把球踢了回去，一队接过球，向二队守门员那边跑去。穿绿衣服的小男孩神情紧张起来，喃喃道：“接住！接住！”戴着红帽子的男孩站着看不到，只有坐下，低下头，看着那个足球。“啪”——一队队员射门了，二队守门员紧盯着，又听见“啪”的一声，球被接住了，二队松了口气，一队的教练在一旁看着，下个星期便是运动会了，一队教练见到队员如此优异，笑了起来，足球像个调皮的孩子，在草地上跑动着，一次次欢呼，一次次紧张，一次次失败，一次次收获，两三个小时过去了，两队居然打了个平手。

这场比赛是多么激烈呀！
