Today, I was so excited because I finally became a high school student,

which meant my life came to a new chapter. On the first day, my parents went

with me to school. They brought my luggage and helped me to finish the

registration. I was so impressed by the slogan that was tagged on the main gate,

which was Help Your Parents Carry Luggage. When I saw those words, I realized

most of us carried nothing at hand, but our parents did the job. We are almost

16 and not a little kid anymore, so it is natural for us to learn grow up and

become independent. Taking luggage is just a small symbol for us to be

independent. We need to complete all the things by ourselves in the following

three years. When we can handle our stuff by ourselves, we are mature.

It’s normal that we all have our own interests and it’s various from people to people. Some people may be interested in sports and some others in music or literature. In short, it’s good for us to have our own interests or hobbies and it means a lot. For one thing, having some interests can bring us a sense of belonging, for it’s your own thing and no one can carry off from you. For another, interest is our best teacher. If you like something, you have the desire to go deep to it. Last, developing interest is a good way to make friends with who have something in common. You can share and be shared, which is an inspiring process and experience.

Newspapers and websites are two major new media in the world today, both of which can provide us with lots of news and information. But they’re different in some ways.

Newspapers enjoy a longer history and often come out daily with more reliable news and information. They can be carried and read almost anywhere you like. So many people like reading them. But they can only contain texts and photos.

On the other hand, websites are quite new and popular, especially among young people. Websites have not only texts with pictures but also audios and videos, which makes stories more interesting. What’s more, they are updated from time to time. So the latest news is always seen on websites instead of in newspapers. But it is not quite convenient for people without a computer connected with the Internet to get information from websites.

Making friends is a skill like many other skills. It improves with practice. If you want to meet people and make friends, you must be willing to take some actions. You must first go where there are people. You won’t make friends staying home alone. Join a club or a group. Taking with those who like the same things as you do is much easier. Or join someone in some activities. Many people are nervous when talking to new people. After all meeting strangers means facing the unknown. As a result，the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. Another example was in several developed countries. The Tibetan ethnic group is also famous for its strange custom in funeral. Thinking that the soul belongs to the sky after a person dies, they usually put the body on a platform outdoors, spray on it and wait the condors to come to eat the body. In this way, they believe the soul goes up to the sky.

The Tibetan Minority is brimming over with deep emotions. The people there are very zealous and hospitable and they live freely and happily on the spacious grassland. Time goes without being noticed. The time for our study and work is usually
