Jane Eyre is a young orphan being raised by Mrs. Reed, her cruel, wealthy aunt. She saves Rochester from a fire one night, which he claims was started by a drunken servant named Grace Poole. But because Grace Poole continues to work at Thornfield, Jane concludes that she has not been told the entire story. Jane sinks into despondency when Rochester brings home a beautiful but vicious woman named Blanche Ingram. Jane expects Rochester to propose to Blanche. But Rochester instead proposes to Jane, who accepts almost disbelievingly.

The wedding day arrives, and as Jane and Mr. Rochester prepare to exchange their vows, the voice of Mr. Mason cries out that Rochester already has a wife. Mason introduces himself as the brother of that wife—a woman named Bertha. Mr. Mason testifies that Bertha, whom Rochester married when he was a young man in Jamaica, is still alive. Rochester does not deny Mason’s claims, but he explains that Bertha has gone mad. He takes the wedding party back to Thornfield, where they witness the insane Bertha Mason scurrying around on all fours and growling like an animal. Rochester keeps Bertha hidden on the third story of Thornfield and pays Grace Poole to keep his wife under control. Bertha was the real cause of the mysterious fire earlier in the story. St. John is a clergyman, and he finds Jane a job teaching at a charity school in Morton. He surprises her one day by declaring that her uncle, John Eyre, has died and left her a large fortune: 20,000 pounds. When Jane asks how he received this news, he shocks her further by declaring that her uncle was also his uncle: Jane and the Riverses are cousins. Jane immediately decides to share her inheritance equally with her three newfound relatives.

St. John decides to travel to India as a missionary, and he urges Jane to accompany him—as his wife. Jane agrees to go to India but refuses to marry her cousin because she does not love him. St. John pressures her to reconsider, and she nearly gives in. I am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. My passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as I continue to live.

读书对于不同的人有不同的乐趣，对于从事体力劳动来说，读书一种休闲;对于从事脑力劳动的人来说，书可能是一种灵丹妙药，烦闷时，读书可以解闷;愁苦时，读书可以忘忧;兴奋时，读书可以畅流……

读书给人恬淡、宁静、心安理得的快乐，是名利、金钱不可取代的，书就像人类的精神营养剂，缺了它，生活必缺陷。让我们别留下遗憾，拿起书吧!相信你一定也能从书中懂得人生的真谛!

“纸上得来终觉浅，绝知此事要躬行”。这首诗是宋代诗人陆游的一首诗我认为一个即有书本知识，又有实践经验的人才称的上有学问，一个人如果只有书本知识，那他一定是一个书呆子，而如果一个人只有实践经验，没有书本知识，那他也称不上有学问，所以读书与实践是缺一不可的是相辅相成的。而现代的儿童大部分都是玩电脑看电视，虽然足不出户就可以了解许多事，但是比读书实践可差多了。读书能让人了解作者想抒发的感情。实践能让人了解大自然的奥秘。只有多读书，多实践才是通往知识大殿的金钥匙，到时你就好像插上了两只强健的翅膀，知识的天空任你飞翔，宇宙的奥秘任你探索，到时你就成为了知识的主人。

读书即能使人了解作者所抒发的感情，又能使人感受到细致隽永的语言文字之美，读书，是人类的良师益友。但是书中的知识终归是有限的，要想深入了解必须实践才行，所以读书实践缺一不可，只有相辅相成才能通往理想的圣殿，到时知识才会为你闪烁耀眼的光芒。

人类最伟大的戏剧天才莎士比亚曾说：“书，是人类的营养品。”于是有人把书比作冰糖葫芦，酸甜可口，晶莹剔透;有人把书比作大餐美飨，香甜怡人，回味无穷;而我偏偏喜欢把书比作生命的营养粥，因为唯有书才能滋养着生命，让我的生命异彩纷呈。

记得那是一年级的语文期末考试，试题上要用“热腾腾”造句，我冥思苦想，绞尽脑汁，结果发现左脑全都是水，右脑全是面粉，不动便罢了，一动全都是浆糊。最后我只得大笔一挥，浑然写到：“我会用热腾腾造句。”试后，老师拿着卷子做“吐血”状，羞得我，差点儿把脸塞进鞋口。老师说语重心长地说：“要想人生无憾，必先有书为伴。”将信将疑，我走进了《金波童话》，那散发浓郁幽香的词语盘点，让我胃口大开——潺潺的流水、幽幽的月光、寂静的树林，泥泞的旷野、红润的圆脸、热腾腾的山芋……简直是“恨不相逢未考时”啊!心中暗下决心：此后的作文亦当携其手、吮其精，“妙语连珠”、“思如泉涌”。期末考试成绩一出，我竟然登上山顶，畅享了“一览众山小”的王者大餐。

生命营养粥于我，既是写作的源泉，更是思想的火炬。难忘记三年级唱歌大赛，本来有实力名列前茅的我，却像麻婆豆腐般惨败得一塌糊涂，当我哭着将头埋进老师的肩膀时，老师送给我一本厚厚的书，要治治我的挫折恐惧症。噙着眼泪，我翻开了散发着墨香的《世界名人故事》。命运坎坷的音乐大师贝多芬以自已对音乐的热爱，以他不放弃地与命运抗争的故事，鼓舞着我振作;美国发明大王爱迪生3600次的失败和最后的成功引领着我前行。后来的电视少儿歌舞大赛中，我发奋图强，勇敢地毛遂自荐，最终唱着胜利的凯歌，品尝了成功的硕果。

两次刻骨铭心的成功，已经使我，对于书本这杯生命营养粥，情有独钟。我疯狂地爱上了读书。晨曦初露，斜椅桌边，任窗外黄叶如花，离愁飘挂，我的心却固守着与书的约定。夕阳西下，独坐窗前，听窗外细雨如诗，看“卧薪尝胆数十载，三千越甲可吞吴”的坚韧，思“自挂东南枝”的无奈，品“羽扇纶巾，谈笑间墙橹灰飞烟灭”的风华，我不断地汲取着文学的精华，品味着思想的精髓。是书告诉我“无论是国王还是农夫，只要能找到属于自己的安宁，他就是最幸福的人”的真理，是书告诉我“人格应该与脑门一同闪亮”的尊严，更是书告诉我“天空不曾留下我的痕迹，但我已飞过”的自豪……

时光悠长，寄情于书卷我便永不孤独：岁月静好，徜徉于书海我便勇者无敌。当思想的火炬穿行在漫漫长夜、亘古荒原，当奋斗的翅膀穿越坎坷、穿越低谷，当知识的光芒掠过千山万水，掠过风雨人生，请不要忘记携一杯生命营养粥，从书海启程，让读书染绿心灵的荒漠，让读书去点亮世界的梦想。

我爱读书，人因读书而美丽。 爱读书的人很美。像是一杯散发着幽幽香气的淡淡清茶，显得清新自然、神采奕奕、潇洒自如。在最近的青年歌手大奖赛上，我们云南选手王红星虽然貌不出众，但却以出色的歌喉和广博的文化知识，过五关斩六将，获得美声唱法的金奖。而有的选手尽管唱得很美，但在文化知识的考评上答得一塌糊涂，使自己的美丽大打折扣。
