"I want to be a teacher teaching Chinese because I like Chinese and

writing," Xi said. "By teaching I can not only share knowledge with my students,

but also keep learning new things from new versions of textbooks."

She is living with her mother in a room that has no bathroom and costs 300

yuan ($48) a month to rent. Merit certificates she received from school are

displayed on the wall. Yan Lingling, Xis mother, said she is proud of her

daughter.

According to the family planning policy, couples in which both the husband

and wife have rural residential permits can have another child if their first is

a daughter. Yan said she isnt planning on adding to the family because she

wants to give her daughter the best she has.

"My husband is away most of the time, working in construction sites and

making no more than 30,000 yuan ($4,840) a year. I work as an hourly worker

sometimes. The rent of our apartment is expensive. One more child means one more

burden," Yan said.

Speaking about how she plans to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher, Xi

said: "I will not give up on my dream easily, though I know it may be difficult.

When something becomes difficult, it only makes me want to try harder."

来到高中快一年了，其实高中生活也不算太累太无聊，而是充满快乐与欢笑。

事件一同桌趣事

这个学期，我的同桌从原来温柔热情的小K换成了那个看起来很冷的人。我可难熬了。那个高得像一根电线杆的小滔子坐在旁边可真够冷的。相处久了，自然也不拘束。他常挂出一副小滔子式微笑。经常笑得连我们也笑到一块。看到我们吃糖没有他的分，他就说：我最最鄙视那些吃糖的人了。我们问他要不要，他就一副不屑的表情：切，我闻到有点怪味，还是算了吧。我真不知道该说什么好。

事件二宿舍疯狂

在学校，想在宿舍里多睡几小时是不可能的，但在宿舍里，我们可疯了。无聊的时候，肯定少不了一些同学在大喊大叫，一会儿捉弄其他同学，更好玩的是打枕头战。召集起参与的舍友，拿自己的枕头，就是对人一顿海打。也不管打的是谁，反正是人就打。软软的枕头打在身上很舒服，驱走了疲劳，不过有一些人被我们串通起来围攻，打得她连连求饶。一阵疯狂之后，睡觉也睡安稳了些。

事件三欢度生日

一星期大部分时间都在学校，生日大有可能在学校里过。我生日那天，买了支喷的彩带和舍友一起玩，还有班主任。场面还挺热闹。不过班主任的生日更热闹。订了一个蛋糕，全室成员集中，其他宿舍派代表，点上蜡烛摆好蛋糕，关掉灯就一起庆祝。许完愿，吃完蛋糕之后，我们却用吃剩的奶油打仗。

高中生活真是精彩，你喜欢吗？

The summer holiday is coming. Our class have had a discussion about what to do during the holiday. Some are in favor of staying at home. They think its both convenient and comfortable. Whats more, they can save money for other purposes. But they will lose the chance of getting to know the outside world.

However, others prefer to go out for traveling since it can increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons. But they will spend more money and meet some difficulties while traveling.

In my opinion, it would be much better to stay at home, for I can do what I like, such as reading books, watching TV, and helping my parents with the housework.
