The Statue of Liberty stands on an island of the New York City harbor. It

is the tallest building ever built. When people get there, they will see a woman

The complete name of this statue is Liberty Enlightening the World. It is

这个星期四是我们文三街小学五年级的家长开放日。我既兴奋又害怕，兴奋的是这是我第一次参加这个活动，害怕的是万一出个洋相就会给众多家长留下不好的印象。

早晨，一走进校门，就看见操场上围着一大群家长。走近一看，原来他们正在欣赏五年级同学的才艺表演，有古筝独奏、毛笔书法、国画等。

我走进教室，放下书包，拿出笔盒和书，急匆匆地赶到美术教室。一走进教室，我就发现已经来了许多家长。我坐到位置上，开始做早读作业。“叮铃铃!”上课铃响了，美术课刘老师走进了教室。这堂课的主题是——人物与环境。刘老师在讲台上绘声绘色地讲着，我表面上很坦然，心里却像十五个吊桶打水——七上八下的，生怕老师叫到我。天有不测风云，刘老师仿佛看透了我的心思，点名叫我回答问题。我愣了一下，缓缓地站了起来，束手无策。可是当我看到刘老师那温柔的目光时，我的心平静了下来，完整地回答了提问。这时，我觉得我喜欢上了这位和蔼的美术老师，喜欢上了她那温柔的目光。

在大课间，我担负起路队长的重任。每当我失去信心，忐忑不安时，都会想起刘老师那温柔的目光，我的心就会不由自主地平静下来。我的任务完成的非常好，刘老师的目光功不可没。

我难忘这次家长开放日，难忘那温柔的目光，更难忘这位和蔼可亲的美术老师!

My Home

My home is on the first floor. There are two bedrooms， a kitchen and a living room. I’m a child. I have a nice bedroom. In my bedroom， there is bedroom， a closet， an air- conditioner and so on. My closet is green. My bed is blue. I love my bedroom very much.

那天晚上，一位小朋友滑着滑板到我身旁停下来，对我说：“你也来试试吧！”我心里的别紧张，害怕从上面摔下来，连上也不敢上。我让爸爸扶着我上去，我刚一踩上滑板就从上面掉了下来，吓得我，心里直跳，看来学滑板可不容易呀！

“别害怕，慢慢来！”小朋友对我说。他还告诉我滑滑板的要领：前脚要踩稳，后脚踏上就摇摆，上的时候要快哦！爸爸扶着我在广场上转了一个大圈，然后松开了手，让我自己开始练习自己滑，我先是左脚踩上滑板的前面，后脚在地上蹬了好几下怎么也不敢上去。爸爸说：“不上去，永远也学不会。”这时我鼓起勇气，右脚踩了上去，我正暗暗高兴我没摔倒，结果没注意一下子摔了一跤，让我出了一身冷汗，我勇敢地站了起来，继续练，进过反复的练习，我终于克服了心理的恐惧，掌握了一些技巧。

第二天，爸爸给我买了一个滑板，我们又来到广场，开始慢慢的练习，先是站上去，可以滑五六米，这主要是身体保持平衡，快要到的时候我就立即跳下来，这样就不会摔倒了，滑的时候要给滑板足够的动力，双脚要不停地晃动。我终于学会滑滑板了

通过这件事，我不但感受到学会滑滑板的快乐，还明白了一个道理：世上无难事只怕有心人。

一阵金光向我射来，一种奇怪的声音响起：请做出您最后的选择！我坚定的说，看看我们的2310年的学校，拜托了！到了，啊，不会吧。这到底在什么地方啊。我眼前呈现的是一个个整齐的方块。我摁了一个。“呼”一阵风似的我果然到了我的学校那里的保安亭不再有保安了，只有一个机器人。他是识别我们有没有录入校级点名册，你来了点名册上自动会帮你勾画上。一进去就是一个电梯，只要你说出你要去的班级或场地你就可以到达了。我说了一声“五一班”我果然到了我们班。教室不会按有许多按钮，只要你说“打扫教室”教室几秒钟就变干净整齐了。我一进教室就看见了一个“机器人老师”，他正在给我们讲课呢！我们听得津津有味，“机器人老师”是在电脑上给我们上课和考试。考试的时候你做完了就可以直接按提交，成绩一秒钟就出现了，并且还有错题分析哟！对于我们来说“机器人老师”最大的特点是不会给我们布置太多作业，大部分都是在电脑上完成的，所以那时的我们会越来越喜欢写作业哟！

爸爸喜好下象棋，受爸爸的感染，我也学会了下象棋，但只是初入门路。

星期六下午，我在门前同亚宁等几个小朋友玩了几盘象棋，虽然我没有赢，但是心里很不服气。回到家里，跟爸爸说了说，爸爸笑了笑，说：“输赢很正常，关键要摆好心态，掌握住方法，多思考，就一定能赢，不要把输一盘棋放在心上，吃我教教你。”

吃，我缠着爸爸非要下两盘，以解我的心头之恨。

我迅速摆好棋盘，急于要和爸爸一决高下，爸爸好似看透我的心思，说：“下棋不能着急，别想一下子击败对方。自己要想方设法把兵马安全运到对方的阵营上，杀掉对方的拦路兵马，然后置对方死地，无可挽回败局，使对方输得心服口服。”我点点头，让爸爸快点。

我先来个“当头炮”，爸爸不慌不忙上个“象”，我一下子把他的“兵”吃掉，“将军”，爸爸又上“士”，我又移动另一门“炮”，快速吃掉多个“兵”，爸爸出“车”，仍没理会我的大“炮”，可不大一会儿，不知怎的，爸爸的兵马已经跑到我的地盘，使我的兵马不得动弹，眼看就要输掉，我不愿意了，请求爸爸高抬贵手，回棋一步，让我一招，这下可好了，我迅速扭转局面，三下五除二，结束战斗，赢了爸爸一盘。

虽然我赢得不太光彩，但我赢了，心里还是挺高兴呢。

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. i wake up 11 oclock am everyday, after a washing, i have a good lunch with my parents. next i play computer games till the time to have supper. after have dinner. i go on playing till 2 oclock am, and then go to sleep with tired. this is one dull day of my winter vacation.

But i havent bored all the time. sometimes i read the books, sometime i listen to the music or the radio in the bed, because it was very cold outside and snowy all the day. and i also meat some of my good friends during the vacation, we have a very long talk about the life of each other in the past year and play table tennis tegether. and i watched the spring festival party of the cctv in the last seconds of the 2004 year! i think this is the thing most people of china doing at that time.

曾经在幼小的我心中，爸爸是无所不能的，我提出的所有问题，爸爸都能给我一个满意的回答。我遇到什么困难，闯了什么祸，老爸也能帮我迎刃而解。长大了，我发现爸爸其实也有不好的地方，他抽烟，他喝酒。可是却用自己一个人的力量，撑起了这个家的半边天，他从不抱怨，他只是默默地付出着。爸爸，有你真好。

妈妈总是善解人意，爸爸经常在外面忙碌，妈妈陪在我身边的时候其实很多。遇到烦心事时，第一个想找的倾诉对象便是妈妈，她总会耐心地听我发完牢骚，然后安慰我，给我讲道理。我慢慢成熟的时候，不再习惯于向别人敞开自己的心扉，把许多话留在心里。妈妈也没有多问什么，但在我享受可口的饭菜时，在我接过妈妈热的牛奶时，我知道妈妈一直在我身边。妈妈，有你真好。

在学校有一帮关系很好的同学，他们没有爸妈那么体贴，甚至他们会和我吵架，和我动手。但是，我不会忘记，在篮球场上时，他们会放弃自己进球的机会把球传给我。在我不开心的时候，他们会凑在我身边，一个接一个地说那些不怎么好笑的笑话。在我有困难的时候，他们会自告奋勇地冲过来帮忙。同学，有你真好。

这天是端午节，家家户户都热热闹闹的。每当到了端午节，然后人们都要吃粽子、赛龙舟、喝雄黄酒，挂上艾草、香袋和在孩子的身上写“王”字。我在网上查了一下。原先这是为了纪念伟大的爱国诗人屈原的。公元前278年，秦军攻破楚国都城，屈原和一位楚国大夫明白消息后，悲愤交加、心如刀割。最后，他们抱着一块大石头跳江了。当地的老百姓明白后，就往里面扔粽子，期望鱼儿不吃屈原的身体，只吃他们扔的粽子。

所以就有了吃粽子这个习俗。老百姓到了每年的端午节，都会比赛龙舟，赢了就上岸把粽子扔进江里，所以就有了赛龙舟这个习俗。那在家门口挂上艾草和菖蒲，还有挂香袋，在孩子身上写“王”字，又是怎样回事？原先是在古时候没有蚊香，花露水和纱窗，所以人们就在门口挂上艾草、香袋，在孩子身上挂香包能够防止蚊子、虫子来咬。然后在孩子身上写“王”字就是虫子中的国王，虫子都不能咬他。喝雄黄酒也是为了不让蛇来咬，就有这个习俗了。

这时妈妈叫我吃粽子。然后粽子的馅有肉、蛋黄、豆沙、枣子等多种。剥开绿油油的粽叶，里面就是香喷喷的粽子，真像一个粽子精灵披着一件绿色的棉袄！我一口咬下去，啊，粽子真好吃！这又香又甜的味道一向到我的心里，使我陶醉，我真喜欢粽子呀！

Failure is so common in our life. No one can avoid it. When we fail in

doing something, we often feel so depressed that we have no interest in other

things. Sometimes failure can also make us lose heart. Therefore, no one wants

to be a failure.

Success is what we all hope for, because it can bring us a sense of pride

and a good reputation. The moment we succeed, we always feel so proud, as if

having everything in our hands. If one enjoys his continuous success in his

career, he will be famous and worshiped by others.

However, failure is the mother of success. One failure doesn’t mean you can

never be successful. It depends on what we do to deal with failure. Those who

are always afraid of failure and can’t go through it will never win. But as long

as we can get some lessons and experience from our failure, we’ll be sure to

succeed.

In China, the number of college students increases every year, as more and

more students get the college education, college students are under great

pressure. We hear from the news that a lot of students can’t find jobs after

graduation, then the next year, the other students gets graduating, the two

years’ students compete for the jobs! I just can’t imagine such situation. The

pressure from college students is getting greater, they should relieve it now

and then, because too much pressure will bring bad effect, some may distort

their minds, once their emotion can’t relieve in time, some tragical things may

happen. It is said that some students suicide themselves because they have much

pressure. Everybody will have pressure, but we must know that pressure brings

motivation, at the same time, it also brings burden, we have to balance it. When

we deal with it well, we can live a better life.

Nowadays, Hollywood movies dominate the market and many young people take

these superheroes characters as their idols. So some people start to feel

disappointed about the local culture, because they havent seen its essence. As

the world gets globalization, it is in need of building peoples sense of local

cultural heritage.

The preservation of our cultural heritage is the necessary task. The

culture contains the essence of Chinese peoples spirit, which has been tested

by time. When people admit our culture, we will be proud of being part of the

country, so as to enhance the unity and have the desire to make a contribution

to the society. The loss of cultural heritage will destroy a country, which can

be seen in history.

As the young generation faces the cultural shock in the globalization, so

they are easy to deny the local culture, because they know little about it. Thus

school should implant the education of culture and the government has named a

day called Chinese Cultural Heritage Day, in the purpose of advocating the

essence of local culture. When children grow up, they will fight for protecting

the culture.
