每到天冷的时候，她的手就会裂开几道口子，有时还会溢出血丝。每次大家吃完饭，她都忙碌一阵子。她那双手，浸泡在冰凉的水里，会像针扎一般疼，她从来不说，但我知道，这种疼痛对于她而言不算什么，最重要的是在她心里永远刻着一个“孝”字。

有一天，妈妈说她很难受，午饭也不想吃。我倒了一杯开水给她端去，走到床前，递给开水让她喝。她有气无力地吞着水，那个样子可真让我心疼。我一摸她额头，好烫啊！我用温度计一量，居然高烧三十九度五，这么高！太吓人了。我急忙跑出家门，给妈妈去买退烧药。不一会儿，我就买回药让她吃了。到了晚上妈妈高烧还是没退，我心里暗暗祈祷，盼望她明天有所好转。到了第二天，我早早就醒了，摸摸妈妈的额头，发现她一个晚上过去还是老样子，持续高烧。我便把妈妈送进医院，医生检查说是扁导体溃烂，需要住院治疗。办完住院手续，挂上点滴，我对妈妈说要不要告诉爷爷奶奶，她说，千万别告诉他们，不要让老人家担心。

后来爷爷给我们送蔬菜来，才知道妈妈住院，他立即赶到医院看望妈妈，爷爷说把我带去老家住。可是，我坚持要留在医院守着妈妈，爷爷拿我没办法……
