The characteristics of formal writing

1.名词化趋势

I do not eat much.-->I am a light eater.

The clock on the desk reminds me of time.-->I put a clock on the desk as a reminder of time.

注意:名词化趋势的句子当然还有动词, 目的是尽量把表达句子中心意思的那个词汇用名词表达.符合英文的习惯.

2.无灵主语(区别于被动语态)

我们中文写作中,习惯以人做主语,而英文则相反,习惯以物做主格.

More and more young students studied further in the past two decades.

注意: 名词化趋势和无灵主语常常是相结合的.

Main features of English sentences:

1.长短句结合

Love is patient and kind. It is never jealous, boastful, proud or rude. It keeps no record of wrong that others do. It always protects, always fruits, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

一般来讲,总结性的句子应当使用短句,而说理的句子应用长句.

2.并列复合句

这种句子属于十分难写的句子,也举一个例子:

3.单一复合句

也就是我们常说的各种从句,不再举例.

1. ”-ing & -ed” groups

句子的变化还有 It is self-evident(adj) that…….和There be 这样的句子

6.倒装

(1)将一些否定性含义的副词和短语在句首,用倒装会使句子生色不少.

Never before has such a high standard been achieved.

Hardly had he arrived when she started complaining.

(2)为使描绘更加生动,与介词同形的副词可以移动到句首,而把主语放到谓语后面去.

四、插入语

插入语可以是一个小词,也可以是一个同谓语的形式.

1.先看一个小技巧：(对there be 句型均有效)

通俗的讲,在老外眼里,主语与谓语离的越远,句子的档次越高.

2.插入语后面再接上一个定语从句;

We can get a Chinese New Year lucky money every year,but not all the reasonable use of it.I will get a part of to my parents,the other one is by their own bank.My parents also support me to do so.

In my opinion,this is a reasonable approach.Because many peoples self-control is not good,if all the money on his own,it will quickly spend it.But if he do not have any money,and no way to buy want to buy things.Therefore,it is to help parents keep a part of the money,other part of the money to retain our hands.

If my parents deposit New Years money in the bank,Ill spend in college when it as my living expenses.

On the afternoon of new years day, when I finished my homework, Dad took me to my house to buy a new house, and I couldnt wait to sit on my fathers electric car.

We pass the Song State Park. My father asked me to play, although some people in the park are playing skateboards, some are riding bicycling, others are on the soup swing, and others are rowing, but Im not interested. Then we came to the village academy swiftly — — my house downstairs. The father of the car let me lock the electric car, and he went to get the key to open the door. I am happy and jump and jump.

Through this, I know that no matter what I do in the future, I cant be careless, or I will be wrong.

有人认为，买房子、请保姆、吃大餐、去旅游就是孝顺父母。其实，这只能做到外安其身。孔子说：今之孝者，是谓能养。至于犬马，皆能有养，不敬，何以别乎?所以，孝心的终极奥义是爱。孝心其实很简单，比如，为母亲倒一杯水;为父亲捶一次背这是多么平凡。

但是这些小事，却能让父母感动很久很久。孝不需要山珍海味，同样也不需要千万豪宅，也许你的孝心不豪华，只是亲手为爸妈做一顿他们爱吃的，他们就已经很开心。

Every student has his goal of study.Some have a great one but some small.To some degree,a goal determines your success in the future.People who have a great goal can probably acquire a big success in his future,while the people who have a small goal may gain a small one.Meanwhile,the time we set our goals is another important factor.The earlier we have our goals,the more easily we can reach them.Therefore,its of great importance to set a great goal when we are very young.Hower,having a goal doesnt mean we can succeed in no time.We still have a long way to go.The next step we should take is to put our goals into action.Maybe we meet with many difficulties,we mustnt stop or give up.We should keep on going,struggling against all kinds of trouble or problems until our goals are hit!

One winter afternoon, I went to the balcony to wash my hands. Suddenly I saw a bird hiding in the corner of the balcony, trembling all over. I crept close to the bird and saw a broken wing on the birds wing. It was still bleeding. I see a bird fly near it, but dont fly to the corner close to the eyes, staring at me, afraid I hurt it, a faint voice.

I quickly called mom, mom said: “ Oh, this bird is so dirty, hurry away. &rdquo: I quickly said, "&ldquo, no, no, the bird is good for the birds. The little bird is hurt again. Its pathetic. His mother cant find it. Itll hurt.". &rdquo, mum nodded.
