It is reported that ten big cities in China are being  among the top twenty cities with the highest pollution index in the world. This means it is high time we did something to bring the situation under control.

Many factors are  to the deteriorating situation: industrial wastes pumped into the air, the lakes and rivers; a increasing number of automobiles crowding into the streets; the  use of plastic bags etc.

To my view, stiffer laws and regulations must be implemented to check pollution. Industries that release wastes without  should be heavily fined. 孝，是中华民族的传统美德。百善孝为先，要做好一个人，首先就要做到孝。孝是做人的标准，是人必备的品德。

有一次，妈妈和爸爸去上班，我起来后，看见屋里乱糟糟的，心想：“妈妈爸爸上了一天班，回来还要做饭、扫地、擦桌子，肯定很累，那就让我来干吧，给爸爸妈妈分担点。”

说干就干，我先把桌子擦干净，再把地扫了，最后叠了被子。我又烧开了热水，给爸爸妈妈倒了两杯热茶，还把拖鞋在门口准备好。

爸爸妈妈下班回到家，看到屋里很干净，问是不是我打扫的，我说“是的”。他们微笑着，仿佛一天的疲倦都没有了，爸爸坐在沙发上一直夸我懂事了，我心里比吃了蜜还要甜。

《三字经》里，有一句“香九龄，能温席”。黄香九岁时，她的母亲就去世了，于是，她把自己所有的爱都倾注在父亲身上。天冷时，黄香提前给父亲暖被窝，天热了，为了让父亲睡个安稳觉，她扇扇子，赶蚊子，自己却热的满头大汗。

是谁给了我们生命？是父母。是谁辛辛苦苦把我们养大？是父母。孝顺长辈是中华民族的传统美德，孝敬父母是我们义不容辞的责任，我们决不能丢掉老一代流传下来的良好品德，让我们尽自己最大的努力去孝顺长辈，让我们一起把孝传承下去吧！
