Gao Kao is a Chinese version of college entrance examination. Once it was probably the most important event in Chinese students life, and it is still to some students. It is optional whether to attend this exams or not, so the choice lies in each student. Now more and more students start to take this choice seriously, and disreputes arose. As for me, attending Gao Kao is a better choice.

Firstly, college education is a necessity for each student, and one can only get enrolled in a college in China with a score of Gao Kao. Secondly, preparing Gao Kao is a very valuable experience to help us grow, exactly for the reason that it is not a little trying and harsh. Lastly, unless better opportunity arise, applying for native colleges is the best choice for us to embrace a propectful future, which makes attending Gao Kao a necessity for each of us who choose to receive education home in China.

All in all, it depends whether attending Gao Kao is the best choice, but for me and other who havent plan to receive overseas education, there is no doubt that it is a necessity and an opportunity to make our way in the society.

Today is the Mid Autumn Festival, but my father is in Hongkong, so my mother and I have to come back to eat reunion dinner only in the city of Bauhinia. We were sitting on the chair made of the iron bar, and the mother suddenly suggested, "lets go to the amusement park!"

接下来的一件事情如同晴天霹雳。轮椅到的第二天，曾祖母安详地走了。父母亲和奶奶痛哭流涕，我也十分难过，一想到自己小时候曾祖母那么地关心、疼爱我，而我却没有为曾祖母做任何事，哪怕是揉揉肩也好，我内疚的眼泪顿时夺眶而出。但我觉得父母亲以及奶奶不会有遗憾，因为他们已经尽了子女的孝道，传承我们家的家风了。

最近，我读了《二十四孝》，有戏彩娱亲的老莱子，有鹿乳奉亲的燕子，芦衣顺母的敏娟……其中我最感动的是戏彩娱亲的老莱子。

他是春秋时期的楚国隐士，为躲避世乱，自耕于蒙山南丽，他总是孝敬父母，每次有好吃的他总是给父母。他七十岁还不觉得自己老，还经常穿上五彩皮衣，逗父母开心。

有一次，她出去挑水回来的时候不小心摔了一跤，水全都洒了，他不想让他的父母伤心，便灵机一动，扮成小孩子一样倒在地下玩拨浪鼓，二老看见了还以为他又向前此一样玩，所以二老大笑。

读完了这个故事，我不禁思绪万千，知道古代人都那麽孝顺，我们现代人就更应该孝顺父母了。这使我我想起了一个词“百善孝当先”。只有好好做人，努力学习，做力所能及的事，才是孝顺。此时我想到了，我有没有像老莱子一样孝顺父母?有没有让父母开心?

这使我想起了春节前的一件事;那天晚上，只有妈妈和我在家。突然，妈妈的肚子疼了起来，妈妈叫我拿药来，可是药竟没了，只能我亲自下去买药。这麽黑的天，身手不见五指，我最害怕了;但是为了妈妈，我一咬牙一跺脚豁出去了。出门便一路小跑到了药店，往家走的时候，我累得不行了。

这时，我脑子里浮现出一个身影，那是妈妈，他肯定为我买药的时候也一路小跑。现在，正好让我有一次表现的机会，所以我的步伐加快了，终于以最快的速度跑回了家。等我回到家，已经大汗淋漓了。吃完了药妈妈说：“有儿子真好。”我开心地说：“还是有用的。”

活是活着呢，活得咋样?你给父母拿来山珍海味，但是就随手往桌上一礅，然后冷淡无比的来一声：“吃吧。”看见老娘在洗衣服，很不耐烦地来句：“我来。”这就是孝?孝敬本应使父母快乐，你就那么多不耐烦，他们能乐得起来吗?父母只需要物质上的“养”，就不需要精神上的“敬”?不但需要，而且老人需要的比我们更多。缺少了“敬”的“养”，一定是态度出现了问题，这个态度问题主要还是在于为人子女者的孝心不是根于诚笃。

孝道作为儒家伦理思想的核心，作为千百年来中国社会维系家庭关系的道德准则，是中华民族的传统美德。而在新中国成立以来相当长的一段时间里，孝道被当作封建糟粕遭到否定。的确，传统孝道不免糟粕。孝经有云：“毛发色肤取之于父母，稍有损耗是为不孝”，这有些苛刻;丁兰“刻木求亲”稍有做作与夸张;郭巨“埋儿奉母”之举也未免迂腐。“顺者为孝”也有些不人性;至于“君让臣死，臣不得不死;父让子亡，子不能不亡”就更让我们难以接收了。我们这么想不为过。我们不需要那么做，更不必要那么做，可是孝道本身所具备的美德特质我们没有资格否定。

孝道作为维系和促进以家庭为细胞的社会的进步与发展，绝对应该发扬光大，而且誓在必行。从风俗角度上说，这更是极为重要的。元代张养浩说：“盖自上而下者谓之风，因上而成者谓之俗，故风俗，国家之元气，风俗厚则元气盛……风俗薄则元气衰……”元代御史上奏时也说过：“国家以风俗为本，……而风俗厚为治之至要也。”对于当今社会的风俗如何，笔者不敢妄下言论。简单说来我们起码得有个全国上下都一致的观点吧!

一个民族的强大是因为整个民族心往一块想、劲往一块使，有相同的价值观、世界观、人生观，这就形成了强大的民族凝聚力。说到此处似乎与孝道甚远了，也过于理想化，然而离我们最近的、最实际的、也是最容易普及的统一民风不正是孝道吗?一个人还不能爱自己的家、自己的家人，又如何去爱别人的家，乃至于国家这个大家庭呢?连最容易的“风”也形成不了，那只能眼看着“疯”了。民族整体素质的提高也是个循序渐进的过程，发扬光大了孝道，再谈其他的也就不远了。

In order to make a decision that we will not regret,we should bear these two principles in mind:thinking before acting,and never missing any opportunities that arise.On one hand,we should have an apparent,objective judgment about ourselves while maintaining a clear idea about the world around us.On the other hand,we should also think about opportunity.Many people may not quite agree with this and think that opportunity is so rare that only the luckiest people come across it.However,opportunity is open to everyone and one should make good use of it when confronted with it.One should take advantage of it just like the proverb states:“Opportunities are only from the prepared minds.”
