书记来了，市长来了，司令来了，政委来了，公安、交通、交警、卫生等各部门的负责人来了。来到民工中间，问寒问暖，承诺一定尽快送他们回家，让焦急的民工得到了温暖的抚慰。新城、雁塔政府动员起来了，他们认真履行着自己的职责;交通局、公交公司动员起来了，他们调来了状况良好的大客车;西安旅游集团动员起来了，他们备好了民工路上所需的食品饮料;公安干警动员起来了，他们明确自己的任务是维持秩序，并用警车开道护航;石油公司动员起来了，他们确保的是油料充足;卫生系统动员起来了，救护车和医护人员一路相随为的是保康健;我们的部队动员起来了，他们自带车辆和路上所需的一切给养。短短的几个小时，西安就调集了268辆长途客车，把急切返乡的民工送上了回家的路。

地震无情人有情。西安各级党委、政府有情，急民工所急，想民工所想，把事情办在了民工的心坎上。西安各行各业有情，他们用实际行动又一次诠释了“一方有难，八方援手”的中华传统美德。

The news that Mr Cai had passed away was known, and I fell into great

sorrow. The sound of the rain knocking on the window was so mournful that it

deepened my distress.

My memory brought me back to the class when I saw him for the last

time.

That evening it was raining, too. We started our lesson as usual at a

quarter past six. I sat in the first row, and I saw Mr Cai press his stomach

with a hand from time to time, but I didn’t know the reason then. The two hours

passed quickly. When the lesson came to an end,Mr Cai told us that he had

possibly developed a stomach cancer, and would go to Beijing to see a doctor. If

there was nothing serious, he would continue to teach us after he came back. He

was very calm and his voice was steady. He still gave us some homework. He said

that he would mark the papers as soon as he came back.

Then I started to wait for his return. I had not thought that I would not

see him any more. The cancer had taken his life, even though he was still

young.

Mr Cai’s words are still ringing in my ears,“I hope you will be one of the

best students.” I think I should work hard at English and live up to his

expectation .

I have lost a good teacher. Tears will dry up in time, but the memory will

stay for ever.
