The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

reunion. So people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the

family.

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern

dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and

beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent

lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fireworks

from the Spring Festival and let them off in the Lantern Festival. Some local

governments will even organize a fireworks party. On the night when the first

full moon enters the New Year, people become really intoxicated by the imposing

fireworks and bright moon in the sky.

到了半山腰，我看到了数不清的繁茂的大树和花草。再向山下眺望，海、江水、湖等映入眼帘。在这种境界，既使人惊叹，又叫人舒服，既想久立四望，又想坐下低吟一首奇丽的小诗。

莲花山那凉爽的微风，清新的空气，还有那美丽的景色，使我留连忘返!

妈妈曾经告诉我要做最好的自己，我一直觉得妈妈的话是错的，既然有能力，为什么不做个完美的人呢?直到有一天我才发现妈妈说的是对的。

那是一个风和日丽的下午，我正在操场上和同学们玩耍，我们的笑声传遍了整个操场。这时一个同学提议说：“走，去踢足球吧!”其他人都跃跃欲试地回答：“好呀!”说罢，一个同学像离弦的箭一样飞奔回教室拿足球，可我像晴天霹雳一般呆若木鸡地站在一旁，心想：万一踢球时我发挥失常，同学们嘲笑我不会踢球怎么办啊!还是别踢了，不怕一万，只怕万一啊!想到这，我忙说：“算了，我不踢了，我不想踢。”他们听了冷笑道：“你怎么了?中了哪门子邪啊?是不想踢还是不会踢呀?没事，随便踢，想怎么踢就怎么踢。”我给自己壮了壮胆说：“是不想踢，你们少在这儿贬低我。”说罢，我转身像一只豹子一样红着脸，几个大跨步就回到了教室。但，对于没能畅快的踢场足球还是心有不甘。

这天晚上，我在公园里散步，天黑漆漆的，几颗小星星眨着眼;一只小船倒挂在夜里;风也像个喝醉酒的人一样，“呼呼”地吹着。公园里冷清清的，不像平时那么热闹。我突然看见了一朵牵牛花，淡紫色的花瓣，白色的花蕊，它正努力的茁壮成长，也在抚媚的开放着，像是在向人们展示它那妖娆迷人的身体。虽然，它不像玫瑰花那样红艳，那么高贵。也不像桃花一样开出芳香的花苞，更不像桃花那样惹人喜爱、十里飘香。它只是一朵普通的牵牛花，做好最完美的自己，不羡慕别人。我心想：上次我的态度以及做法都不好，他们约我出去，我应该放开自己，展现最好的自己，向牵牛花学习。第二天同学们约我踢球，我爽快的答应了，他们对我说：“这才是真正的你啊!”

做最好的自己，像牵牛花学习，过好每一天，每一个小时，每一分钟。

Freedom is an important right of people. It usually refers that you can do

want you want and live the life you want. Of course, it must be on the basis

that you can’t affect others’ freedom. Otherwise, it does not belong to your

freedom anymore. In my opinion, freedom is not you can do whatever you want, but

you don’t have to do what you don’t want to. We live in the same society, which

there are many rules constraining our behaviors. Therefore, we can’t do whatever

we want. But we are not forced to do what we don’t want to is freedom.
