Her forgetting of me happened just a few months ago, after I had been traveling for more than a month and hadnt been to see her. When I came back, she asked me if I were her niece, l said no, I was her daughter. "Does that mean I had you?" she asked. 1 said yes. "Where was I when l had you?" she asked me. I told her she was in a hospital in Far Rockaway. New York. "So much has happened to me in my life." she said "You cant expect me to remember everything."

My mother was once a beautiful woman, but all her teeth are gone now. Toothless. No woman can be considered beautiful. Whenever I visit her in the nursing home, she is sitting at the table in the common dining room, her head in her hands, rocking. Medication has eased her anxiety, but nothing moves her from her stupor except occasional moments of fear, too deep for medication. This is a room that has no windows, that lets in no light, in which an overlarge TV is constantly blaring, sending images that no one looks at where the floors are beige tiles, the walls cream colored at the bottom, papered halfway up with a pattern of nearly invisible grayish leaves. Many of the residents sit staring, slack-jawed, open mouthed. I find it impossible to imagine what they might be looking at.

When I walk into the dining room on the day of my mothers birthday, I see that she has already been served lunch. The staff has forgotten to hold it back. Though I told them a week ago that I would be providing lunch. She hasn’t touched anything on her tray except a piece of carrot cake, which she holds in her hands. The icing is smeared on her hands and face. I dont want my friends to see her smeared with icing, so I wet a paper towel and wipe her. This fills me with a terrible tenderness, recalling, as it does. a gesture I have performed for my children. As I wipe my mothers face, I see that her skin is still beautiful I hold her chin in my hand and kiss her forehead. I tell her its her birthday, that shes ninety years old. "How did that happen?" she asks. "I cant understand how that could happen."

l have brought her a bouquet of crimson, yellow, and salmon-pink snapdragons. She likes the flowers very much. She likes the name. "Snapdragons. It seems like an animal thats going to bite inc. But its not an animal, its a plant. Thats a funny thing,"

I have bought food that I hope will please my mother, and that will be easy for her to eat: orzo salad with little pieces of crayfish cut into it, potato salad, small chunks of marinated tomatoes. I have bought paper plates with a rust-colored background, upon which are painted yellow and gold flowers and blue leaves.

My friends Nola and Gary come for my mothers birthday. When we are about to leave, I tell my mother that Im going on vacation, mat I wont see her for three weeks, that 1 am going to the sea. "How will I stand that, how will I stand thats she says, but I know that a minute after I’m gone shell forget I was there.

The New Year, new weather. Out of their homes, families are decorated; Street, beaming everywhere, laughter. The breath of spring flowers reflected the joy of thepeople in the face.

New Years eve firecrackers rang a hanging outside and another hung, thunderbolt barak ring; Inside the home, everyone was laughing, lively!

In these days, in the morning, people usually watch TV, play computer, only a few people in the homework. In the afternoon, a lot of people in Chen yi square to play, I also went to, Im going to fly a kite. First of all, I put the kite on the ground, thewind blows I started to run... But, I tried many times without success. Chen yi squareand merry-go-round, small train, plane, pirate ship, and a rolling chair, my brother and I played a lot of, can be fun. In the evening, everyone out fireworks, my sister and I are no exception. Lets play with the color fireworks, its appearance is a red and green cross, when lit, start is red, slowly becomes green, can be fun! We also play a lot of fireworks, among them, there is a call "auspicious colorful rain" fireworks, lit up, there will be many "rain" fly to heaven. On one occasion, I put thetwo "auspicious colorful rain" light stick together, fly higher!

Looking at the sky of fireworks, listening to the scratching of firecrackers everywhere, the Spring Festival, is really busy!

我盼望已久的夏令营终于开始了，怀着紧张而又激动的心情走进中山大学珠海校区。眼前的一切一切都感到陌生。陌生的环境;陌生的营友;陌生的老师;好不容易拿到了一切证件和书本，接下来是找宿舍。随着拥挤的人群，终于来到了榕园。望着眼前这座高大雄伟的建筑物，想着我将在这里住半个月，我不亦乐乎。经过咨询，才知道我的宿舍在301。我们三步并作两步走了进去。哇，眼前的一切让我感到吃惊。宿舍又小又闷，而且没风扇又没空调，这半个月我要受苦了，真惨啊!但一想：来这里就是要学会独立自理的，又不是来享福，所以我要学会吃苦耐劳!

我们宿舍里每个晚上都有蟑螂、飞虫之类小虫子飞进来，我们都又怕又不知怎么办，只好呆呆地坐着。幸好宿舍里有两个高二的姐姐保护我们，否则我们不知该如何是好。晚上虽然有点热，但是感觉很新鲜，很快便入睡。

我们在这里天天都要上课。从宿舍走到教学楼需要一个钟头。而我们每天要走3个来回，所以想减肥的人来参加这个夏令营一定能减肥成功!我们上课是外教和一个助教上的。上课的形式很灵活，一会儿玩游戏，一会儿单词接龙，一会儿听老师讲故事。我们上课也很随便，外教不会要你坐得整整齐齐，我们喜欢干嘛就干嘛，可以到处乱走，可以下位同其他同学进行英语交流。因为外教喜欢自由，所以也让我们自由。

在这里，我认识了许许多多的朋友，同她们在生活上互帮互助，一起学习，一起聊天。每当我无聊时，她们便会讲笑话给我听;每当我作业不会做时，她们便会一题一题地讲解给我听，直到我会为止;每当我生活上遇到困难时，她们会尽自己最大的力量帮助我;每当我伤心时，她们会安慰我;同她们在一起，我觉得时间过得飞快，觉得十分开心!

在这里十分辛苦，要自己洗衣服、晾衣服，还有许许多多的事情需要自己做主。晚上，洗完澡后，便要自己将衣服洗干净。洗衣服非常辛苦，有时怎么搓都搓不干净，直到搓得双手红通通的，才搓干净一小部分。好不容易搓干净了，接下来是扭干衣服。衣服很重，我费了很大的劲才扭干，此时我已经累得气喘吁吁了。但是还要将衣服晾上去，晾衣服的那根竹竿太高了，我又太矮了。所以我只好请宿舍里的两个高二的姐姐帮忙。

我们每天上午就上课，下午就搞活动。下午的活动丰富多彩，有时候看外教跳舞;有时候爬山;有时候到图书馆看书;有时候上网;女外教们跳舞都很厉害，有时候还玩杂技，非常精彩!晚上，我们不是上课就是看电影——小鬼当家。小鬼当家这部电影很好看，是一部教育片。在场的同学常常看的哈哈大笑，现场也常常发出热烈的掌声。

时间过得飞快，转眼间12天已经过去了。舍不得同老师分离;舍不得同朋友分离;舍不得离开美丽的中山大学;但是，舍不得也要舍得。每当想到快乐的夏令营时，我会觉得很开心，那里是我和朋友们第一次认识的地方，在那里，藏着我们多少欢声笑语……

忘不了这次欢乐的英语夏令营，这个夏令营的确很快乐!

In everybody’s eyes, I am a good girl, because I make the good marks in the exams and help my parents to do things. Unlike other students, who will go against their parents, I follow my parents’ words. I don’t think that to do something goes against the adults is the wise choice, but I do want to do something new. Recently, I want to cut my hair and make the short style. My mother doesnt agree with me, because she thinks a girl should have the long hair. This time, I insist on my idea. Finally, she supports me. Trying something new makes me feel happy and be myself. The short hair makes me look like a cool boy and I like this style. My friends admire me to have the courage to change my image.

In our daily lives, we have many choices to make, such as what to eat for supper,what clothes to wear, or what to do on weekends. At certain times in our lives, we need to make even more critical choices, such as which school to attend, what job to take or who to choose as husband or wife. Yes, life is a matter of choice. Seemimgly, it means a choice of tangible things. But in essence, it means choosing a way of life. Life is to be lived, savored, and enjoyed, not to be wasted or complained about.

Although we cannot choose our appearance, inborn gifts and even avoid unexpected disasters and adversities, we do have the privilege to choose to live optimistcally,to love our lives, to have dreams, and to cherish hopes.

Every morning when we get up, we have a choice of how we want to approach life that day. As for me, I choose to be cheerful.

日常生活中,我们会面临各种各样的选择,像是晚餐吃什么,穿什么或是如何度周末.而在人生中的特定阶段,我们需要做出更多关键性的抉择,例如教育,职业或者人生伴侣.生活就意味着一种选择.这种选择看似是对具体事物的判断,但归根究底,是一种生活方式的选择.任何无味的抱怨和虚度光阴只会带来乏味,生活的美需要细心品尝,用心体会.

尽管容貌和天资都是上苍给予,而人生旅途中的坎坷与荆棘我们也无法预计,那就让我们热爱生命,拥有梦想,珍惜希望吧.

每日清晨梦醒,我们都被赋予了选择生活的权利.而我会让一切从愉快开始.
