On Water Shortage

No one can have failed to notice the fact that water shortage is a grave problem with which the whole world is confronted. Actually, it has become so widespread that it has severely affected peoples daily life and hindered the development of the global economy.

A number of factors could account for the problem, but the following might be the critical ones. First, with the development of agriculture and industry, an increasing amount of water is needed. Secondly, the ever-increasing population is another leading cause of water shortage. Besides, the global tendency of warming up also contributes to the problem. Whats worse, pollution and waste of fresh water aggravate the situation.In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. 现在，我长大了，能为环保做更多的事，可以用牛奶盒做存钱罐，用废矿泉水瓶做花盆、沙拉瓶等等，我那些写完的本子和废纸，也会交给爷爷，请他帮我卖掉。

这个暑假，我回到了熟悉而又美丽的家乡，记忆中的家乡是有着金黄柔软的沙滩，一望无际的蓝色大海，和美味的海鲜，甘甜香郁的椰子汁，但是时隔几年，再次回到这片故土，却早已不复往日的美丽与整洁。

以前远远就可以看到的金色漂亮沙滩，如今已经变成白色的沙地，海边不复往日的平静与祥和，遍地可以看见白色垃圾和易拉罐塑料瓶，就连印象中蔚蓝色清澈的海水如今已经变得浑浊不堪，甚至不少死鱼死虾的腥臭味隔着数十米飘过来令人欲呕，罪魁祸首明显就是那些海上漂浮着的垃圾和生活废品。

我难以相信小时候被誉为“最美海岸线”的风景如今已经变成了无人敢接近的垃圾场，从外婆的口中我得知，原来这处风景因为太出名吸引了不少游客前来旅游，因为无人管制，人们就随意把食品袋和塑料瓶扔在沙滩上，久而久之，虽然当地的居民自发开始捡垃圾，但是因为污染太过严重，许多海洋生物误食垃圾导致大片鱼虾死亡，如今很多居民已经搬离了离海边很近的住所。

在回家的路上我想了许多，原本“环境保护，人人有责。”这句话口号并没有引起我的重视，但如今这个残酷的现实却提醒我，环境保护，真的需要每个人去维护，不要肆意去破坏生态平衡。

Christmas Day is on December 25th, though it originated in the western

country, now it is popular around the world. In China, people will spend that

day happily, they will eat apples on Christmas Eve, the children will put the

socks so that they could get the presents from Santa Claus. When I went to

college, I had an unforgettable memory about my first Christmas Day.

As my major is English, I have many foreign teachers, so that I could have

access to the local culture from them. Christmas Day is a big day for them, when

the day came, they asked us to spend the day with them, because most of them

left home and did not have families around. My classmates and I went to the

foreign teacher’s home at that day, we brought some presents, when we arrived at

his house, we found a beautiful tree with shinning lights. My teachers taught us

how to cook all the cookies, we were having such great fun. I made the cookies

with many favors. We talked happily and sung Christmas songs.

I learned how the foreign people spend their big day, it was such

unforgettable for me.

去年冬天，总是能从天气预报上看到“某某地方有雾霾，与前几年的“某某地方天气晴朗”完全不同，我不禁想问：这样的天气是怎样形成的？

走到大街上，我看到各种车辆川流不息地行驶，每辆汽车的后面都有一条长长的烟雾，大街上每分钟就有几十辆汽车驶过，这样一天，会有多少汽车尾气排放到大气中呀！

我继续向北走，看见“太钢”那边的工厂排放出许多浓黑的烟雾，不到几分钟，原来湛蓝的天空变得黑沉沉的，空气中也有了几丝刺鼻的、难闻的气息，使快步走开。

走着走着，我突然发现地上有许多五颜六色的塑料袋，这些塑料袋有的被风吹到天上，好像一个个无人看管的“风筝”，有的被风吹挂到树枝上，像一只只“小鸟”似的停在树枝上。这一幕不禁让我想到在电视上看到在海边飘着的塑料袋有些被水鸟误食后水鸟窒息。

看完这些后，我终于明白了这样的天气是谁造成的——是人类！我想如果再这样下去，人类还会有几百年的生存时间呢？所以，我问大家呼吁：保护环境吧！这样也是在保护我们自己哦！

Now I want to say something about my dream. What is my dream? I often ask

myself. In my mind, everyone shall have his own dream. I think that having a

dream means that we have an idea, and then we will do all the things to achieve

the target. As long as we have a goal to be realized, we won’t be blind at

least.

My dream is to become a successful doctor, helping those sick people and

saving their lives. Of course, to be a good doctor is very difficult, but I will

do whatever I can do to keep everyone healthy. Thats my dream. I want to try my

best to help the poor sick people of our country. I want to let them have an

opportunity to receive excellent treatments for their illnesses without having

to pay much or just enjoy them free. China is a developing country which needs

good medicine and good doctors, especially in the countryside and distant

villages.

Now I’m a junior student on Grade One, all my classmates and I are working

hard. We all know that the entrance exam of high schools coming in the year of

然而现在我们身边，环境越来越恶化，有一次我看见一个大人在路边随便丢了一张纸，我非常伤心，心想如果每个人都丢一张废纸，那么这个世界会是什么后果呢?真是太可怕了，整个世界就会变成白色的垃圾站，越想越可怕，我急忙把这个纸片捡起来，丢进垃圾桶里。还有一次，我在电视上看见一篇有关环境的报道：福建那边的江水浑浊不清，江里的鱼都死了，浮在了江面，每条鱼的嘴里都吐着白沫，江边还飘着白色垃圾，有小食品袋，糖果皮。这一景象真是惨不忍睹。人们的生活水平在提高，自身的环保意识却在下降。还有那些没有道德的伐树者，他们可有想过树给我们带来的好处呢?树为我们人类付出了那么多!那么多树为我们挡住袭来的沙尘暴和可怕的龙卷风，这些伐树者真应该静静的好好的反省一下，如果没有了树，我们的生活环境又是什么样子呢?可见目前我们环境的恶劣，也是在向我们发出了警告，提醒我们爱护环境刻不容缓!我认为爱护环境，人人有责，所以我们要从现在做起，从身边做起，不要随地吐痰，不乱丢纸屑，少用本子，用完的本子可以当验算本，看完的报纸可以练习毛笔字。把保护环境当做最重要的工作做下去，树立环保意识，做环保守护者。

“保护环境，人人有责。”我要把这句话铭记在心，把这句话当作一颗种子，我会用细心去浇灌它，让它茁壮成长，让“爱护环境，人人有责”这句话传递下去。我相信，只要我们齐心协力，在不久的将来，我们周围的环境一定会变得越来越好。

近年来，环境似乎成了一个非常热门的话题，要说原因，肯定是环境对人类的利益造成了影响，不然我相信人类是不会去关心一个与自己利益毫不相关的事物。

人类总是这样，先破坏再保护，可知这是一个不可逆的过程，造成的恶果会一点一点的积累，直到已经无法挽救的地步。

记得童年的时候我的家乡是一片非常美丽的土地，有青山，有辛勤耕耘的人们，有绿油油的麦地，有蔚蓝的天空，还有我们能一起玩耍的小山沟，现在那里被一家水泥厂所覆盖，麦地没了，小沟也被填平了，蓝天也没了，孩子们玩耍的地方也没了，想来，我美好的童年也只能在记忆中了，那里已经面目全非，虽说是生态工厂，但是对我们那地方造成的影响却是不可估量的，所以对这种用生态环境换经济的做法我是非常痛恨的，因为这不只仅仅是剥夺了我们美好的生存环境，更是剥夺了我们内心深处的那块净土，现在每次回到家乡，我都是及其痛苦的，因为眼睁睁看着那块净土被污染，那里已不再是我的故乡。

日本著名漫画家宫崎骏的作品《风之谷》，在感叹他的作品之优秀时，我不禁想到很有可能那就是我们人类最好的归宿了，大自然在被逼无奈的情况下只有奋力反击，它化作丑陋的虫子，在人们犯错的时候会对他们进行疯狂的惩罚,于是也遭到人们疯狂的捕杀，而这些虫子却默默的恢复着地球本来的面目。那些虚伪的人类其实不知他们的心灵比那虫子还丑陋，嘴上打着要消灭邪恶，其实是在自私的保护自己的利益。

如果千年后人类不想沦为那种后果，那就保护环境从现在做起。

说起保护环境，其实大家随时随地都可以看到这样的标语，但是真正做的有几人？保护环境并不是很宏伟的工程，应该首先从个体做起， 作为个体的我们，总是认为自己的所作所为微不足道，保护环境和自己无关，于是在生活中也从不注意这点，那么一个人这么想，所有人都这么想，那只会加快我们灭亡的步伐，勿以恶小而为之，勿以善小而不为 ，保护环境对于我们很简单，不用你那么上心的刻意去做，只需要我们每个人在生活中举手投足间尽力做到对环境有益就行了，那么大家的意识提高了，素质也提高了，我相信环境保护不再会是贴在墙上的标语，希望“保护环境，从我做起”不再是空话。

其次，发达国家的环境问题是由工业化引起的，也就是说企业是大部分污染的罪魁祸首，俗话说，没有利益的企业就不是企业，可是这也导致了现在企业失去了他们该有的道德，为了追求经济效益，减少应该在环保上花费的经济费用，将废气排放至空气中，污染空气，将废水排放至河流中，污染水源，将废渣堆积至田地中，污染土地。这是在间接破坏着大众的利益，破坏着自己子子孙孙的利益。企业只会看到眼前的利益，这也是人类自私的一面。最根本的还是企业负责人要有道德心，要往长远的方向来看，做到环保与利益平衡，这样我相信企业不但会越做越火，而且会越来越长久。

最后，要规范约束这些行为的就是具有最高权力的机关——政府，我们国家的环保部门确实是个摆设，没有真正的权利，而且国家对一些环境上的事也是睁一只眼闭一只眼，因为我们国家正处于发展的关键时期。我认为国家应该给予环保部门相应的权利，因为正是这个时候，我们才要控制好环境问题，发达国家都有教训，“伦敦烟雾事件”，“洛杉矶光化学污染事件”，这都是令我们反思的活生生的例子，我们应该做到提前预防，有备无患。政府部门应该对环境问题加大整治力度，不能再像过去那样。政策也应该在环境方面做出些相应的调整来应对环境问题。

如何把装睡的人叫醒，这似乎是个很难的哲学问题，但是我们国家的环境问题不正是装睡的人么，要叫醒装睡的人显然是不可能的，这得装睡的人自己醒来，所以说我们国家的环境问题还是得靠自己来改变，得靠政府的政策，靠企业的自觉，靠个人的素质，这样的话环境问题就会得到事半功倍的解决。

我想大家都看过《金湖美》吧。可你知道吗？那么美的金湖曾经是一个臭水潭！这得从金湖的由来讲起了。

１９５４年８月１０日夜，个旧市区遭受到一场特大暴雨的袭击，市区周围２０多平方公里范围内也普降特大暴雨，大量洪水从山沟顺流而下，全部汇集到市区９平方公里的洼地处，洼地水面在一夜之间上升了0.8米。随后，又连续降雨，多时每天降雨量达0.0742米，洼地水面不断扩大，水位继续上涨，加上市区东面老阴山山脚的“落水洞”不仅不能正常落水，反而冒水，最大出水量为每秒５．７３立方米。１９５４年８月几次暴雨之后，落水洞又大量出水，致使原云南锡业公司机关、机厂、炼厂，原个旧市砖瓦厂、砖瓦窑、铁工厂、农民服务站等全部被淹，洪灾一共造成民房被淹９５６间、６５９户，２８１０人受灾，田地被淹２２８亩８分。

然而灾害都不是完全无益的，这次灾后在市中心形成了一个面积约为0.8平方公里的水潭，这使历史上缺水的矿区人们看到了希望，于是人们决定治理它利用它，便把这潭水留了下来，作为矿区的主要生产用水供水源头，但是人们用水不加节制，各类污水不加处理直接排入湖内，导致了金湖湖底连年升高，蓄水量连年减少，最终金湖变成了一个臭水潭。在水面上漂着许多动物的尸体和各类生活垃圾，人走在湖边臭气熏天，人们常常掩鼻而过，金湖真正的变成了臭水潭。但是人们并没有停止对已经变成臭水潭的金湖的污染。

终于人们的这种行为遭到了大自然的惩罚，1998年又一次发生了洪灾，这次洪灾至使金湖沿岸多处民房被淹，最深处淹到了三楼，污水直接灌进家里，这次洪灾引起了政府的

高度重视，从那以后金湖边建起了许多污水处理站金湖的情况渐渐的好起来了，水越来越清，能看见水里的鱼儿在欢快的嬉戏，后来金湖就成了我在《金湖美》里描写的那样了。

在此我要呼吁大家一起保护地球的环境，不要让地球重倒金湖的覆辙！
