家长还要教会高一新生适应新集体。高一新生离开了以前的同学、老师、朋友，走进一个新的环境，心理上可能难以适应新的集体;再加上失去的东西总让人留恋，所以有些同学会沉湎于过去，甚至夸张过去、编织过去，来满足心理上的失落。作为家长就应该引导孩子明白，由于成长环境不同，新同学间刚开始的交往难免会有些困难，这个时候就需要主动交往，相互适应，相互尊重，互相关心，互相帮助。同学间朝夕相处难免会产生小摩擦，要学会理解与宽容，在任何一个集体里，我们先要努力做好自己。要明白一个人不管他的头脑如何聪明，学习成绩如何优秀，如果不能很好的处理人际关系的话，就无法享受愉快而有意义的人生。发展智力，只是成长的一个方面。要努力想办法让孩子身心健康地成长，逐渐融入公共生活，提升人际交往能力，直至走上社会，成为一名身心健康的合格公民。
