北美“死湖”事件

库巴唐”死亡谷”事件

巴西圣保罗以南60公里的库巴唐市，二十世纪八十年代以“死亡之谷“知名于世。该市位于山谷之中，六十年代引进炼油、石化、炼铁等外资企业300多家，人口剧增至15万，成为圣保罗的工业卫星城。企业主只顾赚钱，随意排放废气废水，谷地浓烟弥漫、臭水横流，有20%的人得了呼吸道过敏症，医院挤满了接受吸氧治疗的儿童和老人，使2万多贫民窟居民严重受害。

卡迪兹号油轮事件

1978年3月16日，美国22万吨的超级油轮“亚莫克?卡迪兹号”，满载伊朗原油向荷兰鹿特丹驶去，航行至法国布列塔尼海岸触礁沉没，漏出原油22.4万吨，污染了350公里长的海岸带。仅牡蛎就死掉9000多吨，海鸟死亡2万多吨。海事本身损失1亿多美元，污染的损失及治理费用却达5亿多美元，而给被污染区域的海洋生态环境造成的损失更是难以估量。

Important to save water

Water is a kind of liquid. It has no taste or smell. It is transparent, too. Water is useful and is important to us. Why? For example, we use water to water the plants. We use water to wash our face or to have a bath. We drink water or we will die…Water is also very important for China. Last Sunday, I went sightseeing with my friends in the Fairy Lake Park. The park was full of freshness and beauty of spring, with the sun shining and birds singing. When I was enjoying the fantastic scenery around, something unpleasant caught my eye. A young couple in a boat were eating, talking and laughing loudly as if they were the only people in the world. Whats worse, they spat and even threw rubbish into the lake, totally ignoring the noticeable sign "No Littering" nearby. What a shame!

Such behavior left me deep in thought. If all visitors to the Fairy Lake Park do as the couple did, the lake will be severely polluted and soon turned into a huge dustbin. My house have a garden downstairs, where flowers bloom all the year round, is the main place to neighbors leisure entertainment. The children often play there, I also liked to play there.
