大多数的解释对于中谷有蓷这首诗的看法是，一个女人遇人不淑，遭人遗弃，只得在山中感叹不已。

但是也许事实并不如此，因为并不是人被打倒了就单纯是被打倒了，痛苦也有其他的意义，比如说，诗经中有众多的女子都是被遗弃了，那也不意味着消极，痛苦并非仅仅是摧毁，有的人反而勇敢对糟糕的过去说不，这也是相当好的经历。

这样看来，这首诗就没有那么消极了，一个女子离婚了，她或许曾经有过美好的向往，或许对未来有过信心，总之，她正刚刚摆脱了一段不怎么好的经历，现在正躲在山里，想要仔细思考这件事，也许没有思考，但是不怎么想和其他人交流，因为必然会带上自己的情绪。

曾子说：“有抱负的人不可以不刚强勇毅，因为责任重大而且路途遥远。把推行“仁爱”看作自己的责任，不也重大吗?奋斗直到死才停止，不也遥远吗?”

士不可以不弘毅，任重而道远。这是一个因果关系的句子。

子曰：“岁寒，然后知松柏之后凋也。”(《子罕》)
