I have a good friend named Cheng, He is a humorous and cheerful person. He

is tall and fat. He has a chubby round face and a pair of black and blue glasses

on the bridge of his short nose. The little eyes narrowed into a slit when

laughing. He also has a loud voice and a eloquent mouth. He sometimes pretends

to be serious, like a little adult.

We often read, study and play games together. What makes me most happy is

正当我们训练得热火朝天时，三年级比赛结束了，轮到我们进场了。老师急忙叫我们停下来，队员们就跟着老师进入了操场，找了个空旷的地带，摆开阵势。甩绳的同学握紧了手中的绳子，紧张地竖起耳朵，等候哨响。不一会儿，广播传来一声“准备”，甩绳的运动员转眼间不断摆动手臂，绳子就在他们的操纵下不断地在天空中划出一道道优美的弧线。其他的运动员也蓄势待发，好似即将捕食猎物的猛虎。我紧张极了，心脏都已经“扑通扑通”地乱跳，好像要蹦出来似的。这时随着一声巨大的哨声，参加比赛的同学立刻行动起来，只见领头的同学迅速跑到绳子中央，轻盈地一跳，像燕子一样掠过。其余的运动员在他的带领下秩序井然地一个个跳过去。轮到我了，我也纵身一跳，过去了。随着绳子啪啪作响，运动员灵巧地跳着、跃着……

三分钟的时间很快过去了，在这场“8”字跳绳比赛中，我们班取得了连跳251下的好成绩，获得了第二名。当全班同学获知这个消息时，都欢呼雀跃起来。这就是我印象最深的比赛了，你们学校举行了哪些有趣的活动，写信告诉我噢！

你好！我好想你。当你在我身边时，你那悦耳的叫声，常常把我伤心或生气的心情变得快乐和平静。看见你那金黄毛绒绒的毛发，像太阳一样温暖，感觉你把我从寒冷的冬天带到了暖和的春天。每次看见你可爱的小脚丫踩过的每一片绿色的草地，就会让我想起我们在一起的时光。那一次我们在楼下散步，突然出来一只大黄狗要吃你，我虽然也很害怕，但我还是冒着被狗咬的危险，把你抱进袋子里挂在树枝上。在你去世的前几天，我曾带你去中百超市玩，我让你跟着我走，你却不想走，不像以前带你出来玩那么开心活泼，你可能那时已经生病了，可我不知道。你去世后我一直在分析原因，应该是我没时间陪你，很少带你出去玩，让你生病了。如果你还在，我保证每天都陪你。

在你死去的那天晚上，我哭了很久，我把你埋在楼下一棵大树下。妈妈说希望你的生命通过这棵大树来延续，每天当我看到这棵大树就能让我想起你。

There was once a little boy that wanted to be a good captain, but he knew

that he was too poor to do that. So he made up a plan to go a world called

Penny. It was a funny name but he didn’t mind. He also thought that his family

wouldn’t let him to go on such a long trip, for Penny that world was a

hundred100 miles more away. It was a very, very long journey for a boy only 10

years old to do.

He insisted that he would go away on a night when nobody could find him, so

he set off on a day in March, 1981. He got his purse, starting his journey with

bare feet. On his way, he met a little girl wishing so much for money. He picked

up his purse, but found out that he had but only a little bit of copper coins,

which was not enough for her.

He stopped a while for about 10 days to find a job to earn money. He was

always kind, and was willing to help others when they were in need. At last he

got 100 cents which were 100 silver coins, then he sent the little girl the

coins wealthily. However, he still kept the copper coins in emergencies.

After two more days of journey, he arrived at a place where it was icy and

cold. He knew that he couldn’t make it to Penny in time, so he made a

comfortable shelter to stay in until spring. He started off in 1982. When he at

last reached Penny, he found a good job, and paid it off with the copper

coins.

He preferred the money to his whole family. He got $100 for the kind people

who helped him when he was in trouble as a return. It was good that nobody ever

questioned him where he was that whole time when he went back; but he was still

glad that he could help his family. When he recovered, he felt a little bit sad,

and lay down. The next morning when his parents came into his recovering house

to take him home to rest, they found his two hands clasped on his white covered

sheet bed, as if he had been dead.

His parents were shocked; they knew that it was the boy’s last sleep, they

cried bitterly all night long, while there was still a smile on the hero’s

face.

Yesterday evening my colleagues held a birthday party for me, including John Liu---I think you can remember---a nice tall boy, who invited you and I to his birthday last October. We enjoyed ourselves, and all of us mentioned your stay with us. We hope that you will come to China soon, if possible.
