I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. According to The General Office of the State Councils Notice on The Arrangement of Some Holidays in 2019 (No. 15 [2018] of The State Council) and the requirements of Longhua Education Bureaus Notice on the Arrangement of The New Years Day Holiday in 2019, the arrangement of the "New Years Day" holiday in our school is as follows:

One, the overall arrangement of the holiday

New Years Day: December 30 - January 1 holiday, a total of three days. Teachers will return to work on December 29, 2018, and students will return to class on Wednesday, January 2, 2018.

(Note: Class on Tuesday, Week 18, on December 28; Classes will be held on Friday of the 17th week on December 29th. Cadres and teachers on duty will be arranged according to the corresponding weekly schedule. Evening self-study will be held on January 1st and Sunday.

Ii. Matters needing attention during holidays for students and parents

1. Parents should guide their children to make reasonable holiday plans and spend time with them watching TV programs and news reports about New Years Day, so as to know about folk customs and get familiar with traditional culture; To understand national achievements and enhance patriotic feelings; We should expand our cultural horizon and cultivate our national feelings.

Everybody loves reading right, well here is a story that tells you how a

little boy didn’t like reading; at last became so nervous in his show that he

had to read a book that soon became a famous writer.

There was once a little boy that loved to play, but the only thing he

didn’t like was to read a book. When he was bored of playing, he did not go to

read a book, but to play video games. One day his parents became sick of this

habit and so thought of a plan to make him like reading.

And so one day when school was over, the boy’s parents went to his school,

and found his teacher and said, “Dear teacher, I am wondering if by any chance

you could help us with a little small problem.”

The teacher agreed, and so they told them their problem. The teacher

remembered all that she needed to do, and waited until Friday arrived. When it

was the last class of the day, she told the whole class that each one of them is

going to put on a show for the whole school. The little boy thought that that

was a great idea. After he had finished school, he immediately ran home to get

materials which were toys and prepared the other things too. When he was ready,

he began to make up a routine. But he couldn’t think of anything except playing;

when it was the day before it was time to put on the show, the little boy still

didn’t come up with any routine; and so he thought and thought. When his parents

said that it was time to go to school to put on the show, the little boy was as

nervous as a chicken in a forest with a wolf beside it.

His parents said that if he couldn’t think of any routine then he will just

have to read a book. The boy had no choice, when he finished he came up with a

routine he went to school just in time for the show.

He loved making a routine by then, from that time on he loved reading, and

when he was bored of playing he began to read.

After and few years he became famous and was very proud of that day’s

lesson.

I was one day reading the newspaper when I saw a little kid falling down

from the sky; I was the only one who can save him in time for I was on the first

floor. I rushed out of the building, and ran outside. I knew that this was very,

very extremely dangerous, but if the child falls down he will probably die of

pain. He brought a big blanket, and then a pillow, he calculated the area was a

100 percent sure that the child would not die. The child came falling, and

falling; “Poof!!” He landed on the pillow.

I was curious and glad that the child still had his life, and got a reward

of fifty pounds of gold and one bag of silver. I was very happy. But when it was

night time, I heard an “I’m coming,” noise. I woke up, and saw a big light, then

appeared a little flying cat! That was very, very strange. I rubbed my eyes, and

pinched everywhere to make sure that it wasn’t a dream. But it was true. The cat

said, “Hello, I am Plad, and I am a hero; with me you can transform and save the

day every time.”

I was astonished and said, “Excuse me, but why did you choose me?” the

flying cat replied. “Because that you saved a falling kid, and that was a

challenge to defeat. You are now my rightful owner.”

I put on a ring that the flying cat gave me, and went back to sleep. In the

morning, I decided to test out my transforming, “Plad, claw set!” and then a

strange thing happened, I transformed into “Cat no r !” I tried my powers, and

then I saw a sort of bug that I recognize, “Ladybug!” I was going to find her

when I found out that my ring was flashing, I said, “Claws off!” then I

transformed back. I was very excited to enjoy my first lesson of being cat no r

. I was quite astonished, and happy

At night, I thought I heard another noise, “Not again!” suddenly a round of

ball came to me again and said, “Don’t worry, I am Teeky, and you cat no r is

going to work with ladybug to defeat villains.”

I was astonished again, and then Teeky vanished from sight,

I decided to follow her, but I thought maybe next time, for I didn’t want

to bother the kid or girl or other people from sleeping.

And so I have got a job from Plad to save the world.

Dear President,

I’m a second year student of your university writing to tell you about my

humble opinions of the learning environment in our school.

Although we’re enjoying the modernized buildings equipped with advanced

computers sufficient lights and well-installed desks and chairs we do find it

hard for us to concentrate on study when we’re in the classrooms. For one thing

the annoying noise made by the vans and cars disturbs our studies. For another

the classrooms which are supposed to be used for self-study are unavailable for

they are usually occupied for meetings by various kinds of associations.

Faced with such a hard nut we should find ways to crack it. I suggest that

our school should construct some special lanes for the traffic and provide

associations with specific rooms to have their meetings in order to provide a

better learning environment for us.
