I was just a little girl five years old. At that age, I did nothing. Every

morning I would get up early and start dressing up to the playground to play. I

have no friends, but I am curious that I could make some by sharing things. And

so I took some bread from the cupboard, took a bottle of milk and ran to the

playground.

There were many children playing there: Some were playing hide and seek,

some were playing tag; some were playing catch, some were playing toys; some

were building sand castle… I ran to the sand pile, there I met some girls

building sand castles. I asked, “May I sit down here, please?” “Suit yourself

coward!” shouted the girls rudely at me.

And so I sat down and began to play. After I had finished half my sand

castle, I heard the girls say, “I am so hungry, but I don’t have money to buy

thing,” and then it hit me; “I have some bread to share with them.” And so I

took some bread out of my bag, and said, “Here, have some bread.” When the girls

took the bread they ate it and said, “Well, well; looks like we have a hero. But

I am not going to be your friend!”

I had spread some jam on my bread and took another piece, put it on top and

started to eat. When I had finished the last bite, I put the rest in my bag, and

went away. I was very sad that sharing things didn’t help me make friends; I

shall have to think of another. After ten days I have thought of another way,

and so started out to the fields. There sat a girl shepherd sitting next a rock.

Now it all happened that this girl was the one that had helped me with

everything I have.

I quietly took out a piece of paper, and wrote some words: I haven’t seen

you for a long time, and so have decided to write you this. I want to thank you

for all you have done for me in the past few years, what do you want me to do

you for this month? After I had finished writing the last words, I put it inside

an envelope; licked the stamp, and stuck in on the right corner of the envelope;

at last closed the top.

After that, I ran to her mail box and put it inside, and then went home.

After a few days I have found a letter from the shepherd girl in my mailbox. I

carefully opened it, and in it was a piece of paper; on the paper were some

words, these are the words: I am very grateful for your kindness, but really I

have much work to do in the fields; If you come here and be a shepherd with me;

then that is the most best thing you could do for me. After reading this, I

thought to myself: I am alone so I guess I could be a shepherd. And so I told my

parents, and set off.

Finally, I had arrived; the shepherd girl came to meet me. “Now I am you

friend Margaret.” said the shepherd girl to me.

So life went on as usual until one day. when she was walking down town, she

having a party for somebody. Perhaps they were celebrating a birthday, or Happy

Anniversary… Mary really wanted to enter the party, so she begged them to let

her in and have a great time. They promised to let her in as long as she could

do what they asked.

And that request was to make bread for the poor and buy milk for them to

drink. That sounded like an easy request to grant, so she used her phone to call

her dad to get some bread and milk for the poor. But there was a problem, “No

phones allowed!” cried the owner of the house standing out. He held onto Mary’s

phone and pulled it out of her hand. He deleted her phone numbers and message

box, and then he took the batteries out, in case she had some other plans.

“There, now you couldn’t use your phone anymore,” and the owner went

inside. So poor Mary used her pocket money which was for a new dress for the

school party, to buy bread and milk for the poor; she was very sad, and went

back and said that she had finished her work.

“Where is your proof?” asked the owner again, “I-I didn’t know you wanted

me to give you proof?” “Well then you are out,” and he closed the door

tightly.

On Sunday morning, I and ching-ching, clearly three good friends go to

outdoor outing, we passed through the stream, and the woods, we play a fun game:

hide and seek, the eagle catches chicken game, such as when you take a hat with

the wind still running around, we spent a pleasant day.

I was one day reading the newspaper when I saw a little kid falling down

from the sky; I was the only one who can save him in time for I was on the first

floor. I rushed out of the building, and ran outside. I knew that this was very,

pain. He brought a big blanket, and then a pillow, he calculated the area was a

100 percent sure that the child would not die. The child came falling, and

falling; “Poof!!” He landed on the pillow.

I was curious and glad that the child still had his life, and got a reward

of fifty pounds of gold and one bag of silver. I was very happy. But when it was

night time, I heard an “I’m coming,” noise. I woke up, and saw a big light, then

appeared a little flying cat! That was very, very strange. I rubbed my eyes, and

pinched everywhere to make sure that it wasn’t a dream. But it was true. The cat

said, “Hello, I am Plad, and I am a hero; with me you can transform and save the

day every time.”

I was astonished and said, “Excuse me, but why did you choose me?” the

flying cat replied. “Because that you saved a falling kid, and that was a

challenge to defeat. You are now my rightful owner.”

I put on a ring that the flying cat gave me, and went back to sleep. In the

morning, I decided to test out my transforming, “Plad, claw set!” and then a

strange thing happened, I transformed into “Cat no r !” I tried my powers, and

then I saw a sort of bug that I recognize, “Ladybug!” I was going to find her

when I found out that my ring was flashing, I said, “Claws off!” then I

transformed back. I was very excited to enjoy my first lesson of being cat no r

. I was quite astonished, and happy

At night, I thought I heard another noise, “Not again!” suddenly a round of

ball came to me again and said, “Don’t worry, I am Teeky, and you cat no r is

going to work with ladybug to defeat villains.”

I was astonished again, and then Teeky vanished from sight,

I decided to follow her, but I thought maybe next time, for I didn’t want

to bother the kid or girl or other people from sleeping.

And so I have got a job from Plad to save the world.

Today, I would like to recommend to you a picture book of traditional

Chinese festivals, Spring Festival.

Spring Festival is the most grand, the most lively and the most important

ancient traditional festival in China. Every Spring Festival, we paste couplets,

red window decorations, and "pour" blessing. But why should the word "Fu" be

pasted upside down? It turns out that the word "Dao" and "Dao" are homophonic,

and vice versa is Fu "Dao". Its like "Fu" is home.

During the Spring Festival, we should not only paste couplets, red window

decorations and "pour" happiness, but also set off firecrackers and fireworks,

and wear red clothes. After reading this book, I realized that there was a

monster called Nian in ancient China. It went to the village to eat cattle,

sheep, chickens, pigs and people every year. Until one year, an old grandfather

who came to the village to beg lived in his wifes house when the villagers went

to avoid animals in the cave. When the "Nian" beast came, he set off

firecrackers in the yard and came out wearing a big red robe. In this way,

"Nian" beast was scared away. Since then, people have pasted couplets, red

Then there is the new years money. Every year on the eve of the Spring

Festival, adults give children lucky money. The original purpose of lucky money

is to suppress evil and expel evil spirits. Because people think that children

are vulnerable to the invasion of ghosts and insects, they use new years money

to drive away evil spirits and help children celebrate the new year safely. I

wish the children good health, good luck and peace in the new year. There is

also an old legend. This legend has something to do with a little demon called

"Sui". You will know after reading this book.

In a word, after reading this book, I gained a lot and also felt the spirit

Since the swallow had brought back the prince’s red gem, he could at last

stay; but one night as soon as he was about to return to the Egypt, the happy

prince said to the little swallow, “OH little swallow, please stay with me for

one last night?” the swallow replied, “Oh dear prince, I couldn’t stay with you

any longer, my friends are waiting for me and…” “Oh please little swallow, you

must obey me;” the swallow sighed and said, “All right I shall stay with you for

one last night.”

The swallow then took a breath, after that he continued, “What is the

request that you want me to do dear prince?” the prince said to the swallow,

“See that poor old man writing a story, he is very hungry; and I could tell by

his face,” “What do you want me to give to him dear prince?” asked the swallow,

as if he had so many questions to ask; “I want you to take out my blue eye ball,

it is like a gem, and bring it to the man so that he could finish his act; and

be happy once more.”

At these words the swallow said, “OH my dear prince, I couldn’t do that! I

swear! Because…” “No little swallow, you must do what I say, and help that poor

man!” at these words, the swallow had no choice but to obey, he took out the

other prince’s eye; with a squeak, as if he was helping the poor prince to

recover from his pain.

When the swallow flew to the man with the blue sapphire gem, he felt the

warm wind of the spring dancing around in his brain. When he arrived, he placed

the gem under the man’s face, and flew back to the prince. When he returned, the

prince asked the swallow, “Did you succeed?” asked the prince joyfully, “I did,

and I hope the man enjoys it too.

The man awoke eventually, when he saw the blue sapphire gem; he said

happily, “What on the world is this? somebody actually likes my plays, yes! Now

I can finish my play;” and he began to write. The next day, the swallow flew

away to Egypt and before that he said to the prince, “I am going to fly away to

Egypt today and…” “Oh please little swallow, oh please can you stay with me for

one last night?” but the swallow was very satisfied, “But, dear prince; I can’t

do that, my friends are waiting for me and it is getting colder and colder here;

I have to go to Egypt, where the sun is hot, and it is warm and cool there;”

“You must little swallow, you must stay with me for one last night,” “Dear

prince, I couldn’t and…” “Swallow this can’t be, you have to stay with me; I

command you!” the little swallow had no choice but to obey.

“Okay prince, what is your command?” “See that poor little girl on the

road, she is selling matches; it is Christmas day, and she hadn’t even sold one

match. But she dares not to go home; because her father was a cruel man, and he

“What a picky girl!” when he flew back, he didn’t tell the prince the message

that he had just received from the little girl; but he still was very cold.

He knew that since he did not help the poor little girl, he felt bad; and

so that was the reason why he was cold. He was very sad; and when he was about

to fly to Egypt, the prince said to the swallow, “I see that you are very sad

these days; I wonder what is the matter, tell me?” the swallow did not speak,

the prince forced the swallow to tell him; but he still didn’t say anything. At

last the prince said, “If you don’t tell me I will put dynamites on your head

and blow you up! I was trying to help you!”

At these words the swallow was so scared that he said out loud, “I heard

the little girl say that that wasn’t enough to pay for his father, and so I

didn’t tell you because I thought that you would not like it and…”

“Oh my dear swallow, why on earth would you think I will not help a little

girl? And why on earth would you not tell me about this?” the spell was broken,

the prince turned to real life, and jumped down from the statue’s stand, “Thank

you dear swallow, you have broke the spell, and now I can live on land once

more.

That was the end of the happy prince. During the lives when he was a golden

statue, he realized how important everybody was to him, and that how important

helping people is.

Dear Petty,

I hope you didn’t make any plane for this weekend. You know I am moving

into the new house, and I sincerely invite you to come to my new house. I will

hold a celebration party on Saturday night. The scenery here is fantastic that I

am sure you will like it. On Saturday, you can walk around my house after you

get here. The party will begin at 7:00. You can live in my house that night. On

Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in

Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University.

After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in

Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a

two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist

entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37

patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital

and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and

advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the

acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field

unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would

therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH

as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study

in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article,

together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

taught me hard for four years. The knowledge I learned in my four years of

Enlightenment has benefited me a lot. I regard you as "a mother for life". I

often think of three old people -- father, mother and you.

Think of your efforts to us, todays teachers will pay, but their

remuneration is high to the sky. Students who are not good at learning can make

up lessons. In the past four years, there are no repeaters in our class. It was

an excellent class with red scarf in the county. At that time, it was worthy of

the name. It is not like that we have to evaluate what we want to send from East

to west. At that time, there were a lot of poor students. Some students couldnt

even pay the tuition fee of 1 yuan and 6 jiao. You paid it for them. Todays

teachers are impatient to see many poor students.

When you were born to build a new brother, the students invited to see you.

and asked everyone to eat it. At that time, you were not sensible and greedy, so

they ate more than half of those sent to you. Now I think of it as ridiculous,

naive and lovely. You told us to listen to the substitute teacher and ask the

monitor to take some poor students to your home with their homework books. You

patiently tell them the reasons why they are not good at their studies, and tell

them about it. An inch of time is worth an inch of money, and an inch of money

is hard to buy an inch of time. If you fail to pass the grade for another year,

its a pity that you have given them supplementary lessons. In order to

consolidate the results, you let the students with good grades help one poor

You said that you often have classmates to see you, said that we have

What moved me all my life is that you came to my sick mother! When you

heard that my mother was seriously ill, you brought the expensive nutriment and
